Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone National Park, USA in 4K (Ultra HD)
The Grand Prismatic Spring offers one of the most stunning views in the Yellowstone National Park. It is the largest pool in the park and the third in the world. It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin and its major feature is its amazing coloration, caused by bacteria, living on the edges of the mineral rich water. The pool is about 370 feet/113 m in diameter and is 121 feet/37 m deep. Several smaller springs are located in close proximity.
This video was shot from two locations: from the nearby hill at noon, and by the spring in the late afternoon.
Recorded September 2014 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100.

THE GRAND PRISMATIC HOT SPRING | YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
The Grand Prismatic Hot Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the larget hot spring in the United States and 3rd in the world. The hot spring has bright bands of orange, yellow, and green ring the deep blue waters in the spring. The multicolored layers get their hues from different species of thermophile (heat-loving) bacteria living in the progressively cooler water around the spring.
In this video i will walk you around the magnificent rainbow colored hot spring. So just sit back and relax and enjoy this video.

Really chill day in Yellowstone, driving around with my cousin Tanner, hitting up the Grand Prismatic Spring and other beautiful springs in the area. It was an awesome experience. My only complaint is that I couldn't get a better view of the GPS. Overall, another amazing day in Yellowstone, and one I'm not soon to forget!

The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world,[3] after Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand and Boiling Lake in Dominica. It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin.
Grand Prismatic Spring was noted by geologists working in the Hayden Geological Survey of 1871, and named by them for its striking coloration. Its colors match the rainbow dispersion of white light by an optical prism: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. More info:

Yellowstone National Park and Grand Prismatic Spring
Please share with your family and friends. :0)
This video is great to just let play on your tv or mobile device while you are just hanging out at the house, cleaning or doing laundry. I find it very peaceful and calming. Easy to play it over and over. Bring Yellowstone into your home!
Yellowstone is one of my favorite places to visit. You can tell just a small fraction of its intense beauty by watching this 12 minute clip. Grand Prismatic Spring is one of the most visited spots within Yellowstone's confines, and it is well worth it. It is also the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest hot spring in the world. It is found in the Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, Teton County, Wyoming.
To get to the the spot where I am you will have to hike aprox. one mile. The first 3/4 of the mile is flat and its a great trail, but then you have to go straight up to get the elevation to get above Grand Prismatic. Have fun! See you in the park!

info from:
Yellowstone Lake is the largest body of water in Yellowstone National Park. The lake is 7,732 feet (2,357 m) above sea level and covers 136 square miles (350 km2) with 110 miles (180 km) of shoreline. While the average depth of the lake is 139 ft (42 m), its greatest depth is at least 390 ft (120 m). Yellowstone Lake is the largest freshwater lake above 7,000 ft (2,100 m) in North America.[1]
In winter, ice nearly 3 ft (0.91 m) thick covers much of the lake except where shallow water covers hot springs. The lake freezes over by early December and can remain frozen until late May or early June.

GRAND PRISMATIC HOT SPRING | YELLOWSTONE | ONE OF NATURE'S MOST AMAZING SIGHTS
The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world, after Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand and Boiling Lake in Dominica. It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin.
Needless to say, Grand Prismatic is Yellowstone's most photographed thermal feature and to many the main reason to visit America's Oldest National Park. Interesting Fact: Grand Prismatic Spring gets its name from the sequence of its colors, which conform to those of a rainbow, or the way a prism disperses sunlight!

Yellowstone National Park Highlights, Episode 06
Grand Prismatic Spring is the defining hallmark of Yellowstone National Park! It is the largest prismatic spring in the park and becomes more stunning as the sunlight becomes brighter. Try to visit this at noon for the full effect. In a later episode I will show you the aerial view, which is from atop a hill that has no trail on it.
