This building used to be used as a 5 building complex for the railroad.Built in the mid1800s this thing is pushing 166 years old.Charleston itself is a city sized museum full of war history,churches of every denomination and religion. architectural buffs will love this place as will car enthusiasts. With homes going for sale at a cost of 1 million dollars easy its quite common to see a Bentley or rolls royce on a nice weekend day

Horse Pasture Road is the eastern entrance of the Jim Timmerman Natural Resources Area at Jocassee Gorges, one of the only temperate rain forests in the United States east of the Cascade Mountains. Incredible views overlooking the valleys and clear waters of Lake Jocassee, Horse Pasture Road offers many activities including hunting, camping, bird watching and botanical areas with many hard-to-find species. With access to Jumping-Off Rock, one of the best views in the entire region, and its multiple access points to the 77 mile long Foothills Hiking Trail, Horse Pasture Road is a great trail for a day of activities or just a nice ride though the forest and mountains.
The Mace-Lovetinska Fund for Women
In 2009 the Mace-Lovetinska Fund for Women was established with the goal of increasing the number of women enrolling in and graduating from The Citadel. This scholarship is named in honor of The Citadel's first two women graduates, Nancy Mace and Capt. Petra Lovetinska, in acknowledgement of their achievements.
A gift to the Mace-Lovetinska Fund for Women will assist in recruiting more women to become part of the Long Gray Line. Thank you in advance for your consideration to give deserving women the chance to attend The Citadel.

The Charleston Visitor's Center is a MUST for visitors and a good place for residents to visit. Beautiful building, friendly people to guide you, a cute gift shop, nice restrooms, and all of the information and history you could ever want to know. FREE MAPS! The Best Friend Railroad Museum is behind it and the Charleston Museum is across the street. Nine killed in South Carolina Charleston 'hate crime' shooting
US where police in South Carolina are searching for a man behind a church shooting. The suspect - a young white man - opened fire inside a church in Charleston, killing nine people.
Police say they believe the shooting at the historic African American Church is a hate crime.Several people were also injured in the shooting.
The 19th-Century Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church is one of the oldest in the US.
