A film on the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP), which was designated as a UNESCO world heritage site for biodiversity conservation in 2014. The film was made by Green Hub Fellows from the batch of 2017-18 - Tamwang Konyak (Nagaland) and Onam Perme (Arunachal Pradesh) as part of their internship with UNESCO C2C for World Heritage Sites, Wildlife Institute of India.

*that is Aut Tunnel in Himachal, not Jawahar Tunnel.
How To Reach:
Bus - Take a night bus from ISBT Kashmiri gate / or other to Kullu or Manali and Stop at Aut
If you will lucky you can get a direct morning bus to Gushani, Otherwise Aut to Banjar than Banjar to Gushani. You can also get a direct taxi from Aut to Gushani.
Car - Road Condition is good.
Flight - Kullu–Manali Airport in Bhuntar Kullu.

The Great Himalayan National Park
The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) is located in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh, India. Initially constituted in 1984, GHNP was formally declared a National Park in 1999, covering an area of 754.4 sq kms. It has some the virgin coniferous forests of the State. Vast areas of alpine pastures and glaciers cap this park. A buffer zone of 5 km from the Park's western boundary, covering 265.6 sq km. and including 2,300 households in 160 villages, was delineated as an Ecozone.
The Great Himalayan National Park is a habitat to more than 375 fauna species that comprises nearly around 31 mammals, 181 birds, 3 reptiles, 9 amphibians, 11 annelids, 17 mollusks and 127 insects
Natural features
Lush coniferous forests, emerald meadows strewn with exotic flora, soaring snowy peaks and pristine glaciers make for an ideal Himalayan retreat. The secluded Sainj and Tirthan valleys are home to a plethora of fauna - wild mountain goats like the bharal, goral and serow, the brown bear and predators like the leopard and the elusive snow leopard. Different varieties of pheasants - monal, khalij cheer, tragopan and other exotic Himalayan birds can be found in the region.
They are the largest, tallest and geologically youngest mountains on our planet.
A trek of 35 to 45 km in any of the Park's valleys brings one into the high altitude habitat (3,500 m and above) of animals such as blue sheep, snow leopard, Himalayan brown bear, Himalayan thar, and musk deer. Best sightings can be made in autumn (September--November) as animals start their seasonal migration to lower altitudes.

The Great Himalayan National Park, also a World Heritage Site, is carved out of the splendid mountain terrain of Kullu district, and is the largest protected area in Himachal Pradesh. The secluded Tirthan valley harbors a variety of wildlife common to this area - wild mountain goats like the Bharal, Goral, and Serow, the Himalayan Brown Bear and predators like the Leopard and the very rare Snow Leopard. Birds like Himalayan Pied Kingfisher, Brown Dipper, Bearded Vulture, and Himalayan Parakeet can be seen during the trek.
My attempt to show the glimpses of the Great Himalayan National Park, all pictures and videos were shot during BNHS camp to GHNP, with a hand held point & shoot prosumer camera.

The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) is located in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh and is one of India's youngest National Parks.
Beautiful, unique and precious the national park is home to a diverse amount of flora and fauna including the world's rarest pheasant - The Western Tragopan, which had never been filmed in the wild in India. Over two years our team saw the tragopan 4 times and managed to get the first ever video documentation of the pheasant in the wild.
GHNP is currently in the final stages of a five-year process being evaluated for UNESCO World Heritage Site inscription. The Park is competing against eight other countries under the criteria of exceptional natural beautyand conservation of biological diversity

The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP), is one of India's national parks, is located in Kullu region in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
The park was established in 1984 and is spread over an area of 1,171 square kilometres at an altitude of between 1500 and 6000 metres.
The Great Himalayan National Park is home to more than 375 faunal species.
So far species of 31 mammals, 181 birds, 3 reptiles, 9 amphibians, 11 annelids, 17 mollusks and 127 insects belonging to six orders have been identified and documented.
Most of the Himalayan fauna has been given protection under the high priority protection category of Schedule I of the Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
The state government of Himachal Pradesh has banned hunting in the state for more than ten years.
A trek of 35 to 45 kilometres in any of the park's valleys brings one into the high altitude habitat (3,500 metres and above) of animals such as blue sheep, snow leopard, Himalayan brown bear, Himalayan tahr, and musk deer.
Best sightings can be made in autumn (September - November) as animals start their seasonal migration to lower altitudes.
They are protected under the strict guidelines of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972; hence any sort of hunting is not permitted.
The GHNP also supports a great diversity of plant life thanks to its wide altitude range and relatively undisturbed habitats.
From the lofty pinesand spruces and the great, spreading horse chestnuts of the lower valleys, to the dense cushions and prostrate branches of the alpine herbs and junipers, the park presents an endless variety of vegetation.
Although some areas have been modified by grazing, this is one of the few areas of the Western Himalayas where the forests and alpine meadows can be seen in something approaching their original state.
The subalpine zone is richest in species, followed by the alpine and upper temperate zones.
In June 2014, the Great Himalayan National Park was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
The Unesco World Heritage Site Committee granted the status to the park under the criteria of outstanding significance for biodiversity conservation.

The unique ecological aspects of the Western Himalaya led to the creation of the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) in the Kullu district of India's mountain state of Himachal Pradesh. These features include biodiversity, sparse human populations, inaccessibility, little tourism, and a local economy based on traditional livelihoods.

So here the wait is over and episode 1 is now live in the first day we traveled from Delhi To Mandi then from Mandi we started our Journey to Jibhi in between we stopped in Jibhi Waterfall also tirtan valley is very scenic at the same timeless tourist place I have seen in Himachal Pradesh.
The best part of our second day was The great Himalayan National park which we all have no clue we are going in walking ???? and it was great experience watch this video and enjoy ????
