Travel from Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham and Kratie Province
Today we travel from Phnom Penh to Kratie Province and came across Kampong Cham province, over Kizona bridge to Kratie town and enjoy the wonder nature along the road and the river in Kratie. It's a beautiful day. We enjoy eating Sticky rice in bamboo which is the famous food in this province and it's really tasty. We had lunch there and enjoy the fresh air at the river side.

Travel on Bus from Stung Treng to Kratie Province
Travel on Bus from Stung Treng to Kratie Province, Kingdom of Cambodia. It's a wonderful day to travel on bus with our tour group and happy with the nature along the road from Stung Treng province to Kratie province. This is really a tour of my life time to see something new in Cambodia. But very sad that people burned down the forest to make home and their own plantations. That's why it's so hot when we get down the bus for pee-pee along the road.

Visit Indigenous Peoples Market in Sen Monorom Town
This video started with a drone shot of Boo Sra Waterfall, followed by drone video of Sen Monorom town and Ko Prei circle, the landmark of Mondulkiri Province. We visited the Indigenous Peoples Market Place at Krong Sen Monorom to get some snacks, some fresh corns, fresh sweet potatoes for grilling at night. There's nothing much selling at this market as it's a local product from local indigenous peoples. They have fresh vegetables, bamboo shoots, avocados, passion fruits, pineapples, raw meats, steamed sweet potatoes and sugarcane juice. My wife's holding a giant bamboo shoot. It's so big. There're more selling that I don't know the names. It was raining, everything and everywhere is wet. We rushed to get back on bus and bought some more chickens to cheer with some beers at night as well. We then headed to our motel and prepared for dinner.
In this video, i used GoPro Hero 5 Black, iPhone 6s & 7s, DJI Phantom 3 Standard.

Kratie
Cambodia Kratie Province - Good to know...
Capital: Kratie
Population: 320'000
Location: 200km Northeastern of Phnom Penh on the Mekong river and Vietnam border.
Etymology: Most people are Khmer.
Vietnam Border Crossing:
Province Governor: Kham Phoeun.
Lon Nol was the province's governor in 1945.
During foreign incursions and the civil wars into Cambodia, Kratié especially saw heavy fighting.
During Operation Menu, Kratié was heavily bombed by the United States.
Recovering unexploded ordnance and de-mining has been a major recent initiative.
The Mekong River flows from the north to the south of the province; approximately 140 km of the river is located in Kratié.
The river is home to Irrawaddy dolphins.
There are hundreds of seasonally flooded islands in the river.
As of 2007, the Cambodian government planned to build a dam on the Mekong River near Kratié town.
The province is mostly covered in dense forest.
Craters from Operation Menu bombings during the Vietnam War, some of which are filled with water, are still visible in the countryside.
Flooding is frequent in Kratié; the Mekong may overflow by as much as 4 m during the rainy season.
Kratié is known for its attractive riverside scenery and its green villages and paddies.
Most Kratié residents are subsistence farmers or fishers.
Thirty percent of Kratié households live on less than US$1 per day.
Some gold mining occurs in Kratié.
Illegal logging supervised by provincial officials is a problem.
Kratié has the potential to be an ecotourism destination.
Kratié's road system is poorly developed.
Malaria is hyperendemic in Kratié's forests.
Kratié is home to seven indigenous groups

Our wonderful trip to Mondulkiri province, Cambodia
Mondulkiri is usually called the far place in Cambodia. We don't usually go there. It's not like Siem Reap where everyone has known about it. In this video, we actually were there for the time also. We have no clue about the place, so I and my wife decide to go on a tour. It's a great experience for us. As you can see everything is GREEN in Mondulkiri. That is what you will get travelling there.
I plan to go there again, but the next time I go will be more details. If you would like to enjoy the moment with us, don't forget to subscribe for the next video.

Crocodile show at Safari World, Koh Kong province, Cambodia
Crocodile show is one of the best show at Koh Kong Safari world in Cambodia. There are 2 mens acting role play with real crocodile with about 10 crocodile in the pool. These 2 men use only a short bamboo stick and their hands to pull crocodile's tale to the green board stage for the show. It's a great show but little scary as they act with real crocodiles.

PART 5 Local Community Ride and Homestay Cambodia
PART 5: ARRIVAL IN THE HOMESTAY
This is part 5 of the 9 videos I made during the Local Community Ride and Homestay tour organized by Butterfly tours Siem Reap Cambodia.
Everything is filmed with my smartphone without wind filter and video stabilization and all parts are simple cut and paste with windows movie maker. Video quality has been reduced to upload to youtube. Sometimes shaking videos by single-handed steering and filming during cycling which was sometimes very difficult due to the rough roads. Sometimes because of the rain, darkness, rough roads or other activities it was not always possible to film everything but it gives you a good idea about the tour.
For all info about the tour visit the website of Butterfly Tours
Links to all video's.
Part 1 Introduction
Part 2 Visit a rural school
Part 3 Visit a rice wine farm
Part 4 Stop in the village
Part 5 Arrival in the homestay
Part 6 Eating, sleeping, Wake up
Part 7 Leaving the homestay
Part 8 Visit a local busines of money boxes
Part 9 Visit a local market
This is my review about the tour.
I booked the Local Community Ride and Home Stay with butterfly tours and it was fantastic.
Five minutes after the start we were already in the countryside. No tourists have seen during the whole tour. During the first day of the tour we visited a temple, a rural school, and a rice wine farm. Each time we drove from one location to another through small villages, farms and meet farmers with their cows and buffalos and in the villages we made contact with the local people. In the evening we stopped at the host family for the homestay. I made contact with the very friendly and hospitable family and their tradition. After we showered, we eat together with the family. Cambodian KOKO soup with rice. We enjoyed a well-deserved night's rest after eating. In the morning after breakfast we start our ride for day two. After a drive through the countryside and villages we visited a local family business where they make money boxes in different figures from clay. And we visited a small business where they make baskets out of straw. Then we drove to a local market where I had the time to visit it and make contact with the locals and their products. After the visit to the market we said goodbye to the locals and drove back to the office of Butterfly Tours which was the end of the tour.
About the guide: The guide Song is very friendly, patient and has a good knowledge. He has a very good explanation of everything and has the time to let me take pictures and videos.
About the homestay: I had what I was looking for. I wanted and real local experience without Western luxury.
We take a shower outside with water and a bucket. A hole in the ground was the toilet. And I slept in a half-open wooden house above the ground without a mattress on the wooden floor.
About the countyside and the population: The countryside of Cambodia is very beautiful and the people very friendly. Everywhere you see smiling faces and the people make contact and everywhere you hear HALLO HALLO HALLO.
About the tour: Fantastic. The tour is well organized and has a good general impression of Cambodia and daily life.
Conclusion: If you want to discover the real Cambodian life this is a very good tour. Only by discovering the countryside and making a homestay do you learn how real life is in Cambodia and how people live. I recommend it to everyone, come to Cambodia and make the Local Community Ride and Home Stay with butterfly tours.
I was very happy and I only have positive comments.
I generally give this tour a score of 10/10.

SAMVEASNA CENTER FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION || KRATIE || MONDULKIRI
“We passionately believe in the power of tourism as a tool for wildlife conservation and sustainable development for communities in Cambodia”
SVC runs birding and wildlife viewing trips with unique access to Wildlife Conservation Society sites across Cambodia.
Our mission is to sustain Cambodia’s wildlife and communities through ecotourism.
Our tours are designed to show you the best of birding, wildlife and nature, the real places of Cambodia. We take you places that are `off the beaten track’ in wildlife sanctuaries and protected areas as well as the more famous `must-see’ destinations. We introduce you to local people and their cultures, and the result is a birding and wildlife experience that is unique, varied, exhilarating, relaxing and fulfilling, leaving you with a clear conscience.
History, Mission and Governance
Established in 2003 in memory of pioneering Cambodian Conservationist Sam Veasna, we were registered as a local NGO with the Ministry of Interior in 2006. We provide an alternative sustainable livelihood from ecotourism for the local communities at the sites that WCS prioritizes for conservation. In return for the income and employment received they are asked to sign no-hunting and land-use agreements, which are monitored by Ministry of Environment and the forestry patrol teams advised by WCS.
We are a Non-Profit Organization. Any net earnings from providing ecotourism services are invested into conservation projects and the local communities for development projects in return for good environmental stewardship. We believe that it is necessary to provide alternative livelihoods in order to achieve sustainable conservation. By choosing to see Cambodia’s spectacular wildlife with us you are giving local communities those alternatives.
The Center’s original mission was broad: to promote wildlife conservation awareness and education in Northern Cambodia. As SVC has grown, it has become involved in education and capacity building, working in remote protected areas. Today the main objective of SVC is to provide local communities with a sustainable livelihood from international tourists who visit these sites for birding and wildlife watching. This award-winning approach was pioneered in Northern Cambodia at Tmatboey and has since been expanded to eight communities across Northern and Eastern Cambodia.
About Mr Sam Veasna
Sam Veasna was a pioneering Cambodian naturalist who tragically died of malaria in 1999 aged 33 while surveying the Northern Plains of Cambodia for the now extinct Kouprey. During his short life he was responsible for discovering and cataloging many of the most important sites for conservation in Northern Cambodia, including the discovery of large numbers of Sarus Crane at Ang Trapaeng Thmor. The Sam Veasna Center for Wildlife Conservation was set up in his memory to promote conservation throughout Cambodia and find ways to continue his work protecting the endangered species of the country.
