Guimbal is fourth-class municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. It has been cited by the Philippine chamber of commerce and Industry as most business friendly local government unit, 4th-6th class municipal category in Western Visayas, and the cleanest and greenest town in Iloilo. In this project, we decided to focus on two spots in Guimbal the St. Nicolas Church and Guimbal Public Plaza. Our mission is to promote and feature the beautiful spot of their place.
The St. Nicolas of Tolentino Parish, or commonly known as Guimbal Church, is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. The Guimbal Church is one of the oldest churches in the country. Guimbal Public Plaza is an open public space centrally located in the heart of the coastal municipality of Guimbal in the province of the Iloillo, Philippines. It is one of the remarkable landmarks of the municipality, known for its beautiful ornamental plants and landscape that adore its premises, described by many of the little Luneta of the Province.

With a 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) shoreline facing the blue waters of the Panay Gulf, it has attracted tourists from different places because of its scenic beaches and inland resorts.
A coastal municipality, is located at the South-West part of Iloilo province.
It is 29 kilometres (18 miles) from the city of Iloilo.
A 45 minute drive from Iloilo City, it is accessible from all points of Panay Island.
Guimbal Historical sites and landmarks:
Guimbal Church: The newly restored 200-year-old church made of yellow adobe and coral stones, one of the oldest in the country.
It is the Baroque architectural style of St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish church reconstructed under the supervision of Father Jose Oranguren in 1893. However the church was burned in December of 1895. Father Agustin Llorente restored the church and started building its tower in January of 1896. The present church is of two levels. Its pediment was integrated in the second level. It has a semi-circular arch with a row of rosettes for its main entrance. In 1774, the first structure of the church was built with yellow sandstone walls and coral rocks but was later destroyed by an earthquake in July 13, 1787. Originally facing the street across which is the sea. It had undergone some reconstruction after it was destroyed twice, during the Second World War and during the 1948 Lady Kaykay earthquake.
Guimbal Steel Bridge: Constructed during the American period. The construction was ordered by US President Roosevelt. It is approximately 0 .7 kilometers or 700 meters long and made of Pittsburgh Steel, which were imported from Virginia, USA. It is the longest steel bridge in Iloilo
When you are coming from the town proper it starts in Barangay Bagumbayan and ends in Barangay Bongol. It is made of Pittsburgh Steel from Virginia, USA. It was finished in 1931.
Public Plaza: Known for its beautiful ornamental plants and landscapes, the plaza is described by many as the little Luneta of southern Iloilo. It is well-maintained and well-lighted at night. It can be likened to a European labyrinth.
Taytay Tigre (Tiger Bridge): A short bridge constructed during the Spanish colonial period. It is commonly known as “Taytay Tigre” because of the tiger stone structure made part of its approaches on both sides guarding the bridge before one enters the poblacion. It was reconstructed through donation from a veteran Guimbalanon.
