There are certain moments in history when America has proven itself to the world: Neil Armstrong setting foot on the Moon; or the US Men's Hockey team beating the Soviet Union in the 1980 Olympics. One such moment, however, never got the recognition it deserved: In 1976, a small American winery bested the exalted French wines of the time and sent the wine industry into a tizzy - putting California wines on the map for good. Based on a true story, Bottle Shock chronicles the events leading up to the famous 'Judgment of Paris' tastings, told through the lives of father and son, Jim and Bo Barrett. A former real estate attorney, Jim sacrificed everything to realize his dream of creating the perfect hand-crafted chardonnay. His business, however, is struggling, and he's not only trying to overcome differences with his slacker son, but is also fighting off the creditors. Meanwhile in Paris, unwitting British wine shop owner Steven Spurrier hopes to revive his own failing business by sponsoring a competition which will pit the traditional French powerhouse against the California upstarts. Little did Steven and Jim realize that they were both on course to change the history of wine forever.

One word, One Sentence strikes again, due to some prodding. Local Sacramento Honey. Crazy Chickens. Strawberry's. And Art, the 2nd 2nd Saturday Reception and Closing Reception hosted in Old Fair Oaks by socialites Billy Mills and Pat Mills who where unfortunately away cruising in South Africa. None the less, fun times ensued with friends and family and drop-ins. Thank you all. It was a fun and great experience made extra special by your attendance.

Sacramento became a city through the efforts of John Sutter, a Swiss immigrant, and James W. Marshall. During the California Gold Rush, Sacramento was a major distribution point, a commercial and agricultural center, and a terminus for wagon trains, stagecoaches, riverboats, the telegraph, the Pony Express, and the First Transcontinental Railroad.
California State University, Sacramento, more commonly known as Sacramento State or Sac State, is the major local university. It is one of the twenty-three campuses of the California State University system. In addition, the University of California, Davis, is located in nearby Davis, 15 miles (24 km) west of the capital. The UC Davis Medical Center, a world-renowned research hospital, is located in the city of Sacramento.

This is a short video of footage that I shot with my Canon 60D while on vacation with my girlfriend. We drove ten days down Route 101 and Route 1, stopping in Seattle WA, Portland OR, Eureka CA, Napa Valley, San Fransisco CA, Los Angeles CA and San Diego CA (although it rained while we were in LA and San Diego so there isnt much footage from those locations.) The first song is Fast Asleep by Voxtrot. The second song is Heart it Races originally compossed by Architecture in Helsinki, this version is by Dr. Dog. Enjoy.

As teammate Zano Mahic barrels his way through a pack of Napa defenders to the right of the goal, Pacheco finds space directly in front. Mahic earns the assist with a short cross that the speedy Costa Rican fires into the top of the net from the edge of the six-yard box.

I finally got the chance to edit, compress, and upload this boat ride I took with my friend Phil Tagami on August 31st of this year 2008. Phil's a real estate developer who redeveloped the Rotunda and The Fox Theater and is managing partner of California Commercial Investments / California Capital Investment Group. He also has his own video show here called Tagami Vision.
He successfully redeveloped the Oakland Rotunda, in downtown Oakland, CA, and is now working on the recreation of the Oakland Fox Theater. Listen to this video because Phil gives a great view of the economic state of development not just in Oakland, but in the United States.
Also, keep in mind this video was before the election and just after John Edwards annouced that he had been in an affair.
