105. Bike ride in Nishimiyagino, Sendai, Miyagi, Tohoku, Japan
Bike ride in Nishimiyagino, Sendai, Miyagi, Tohoku, Japan. June 12th, 2014 I went on a trip to Tosho-gu Shrine. The day was beautiful although a bit windy, but it's normal in Sendai City. I decided to ride by Miyaginohara Sports Park, where are located two large sports stadiums - baseball and football one. Oh... I scared the old lady, bad Bobby. Baseball stadium You see now on the left. The football stadium is a bit tucked away and still You can not see it. It seems to me that here it was a small earthquake, but on a bike it's hard to tell. I'm driving into an area of Miyaginohara Sports Park. There is always someone, somewhere is building something, so the view on the left not surprising me so much. It's Friday, and something telling me that tomorrow there will be a baseball match here. And here, in front of me, You can see the football stadium. It is slightly smaller than a baseball stadium, but this is not surprising me, because in Japan baseball is much popular than football. But it's time for me. Tosho-gu Shrine is waiting... I have already said that the wind was blowing ...? Hence, I chose the right music with the significant title Leaf on the wind.

Autumn of Yamadera
Hōjusan Risshaku-ji temple, colloquially known as Yamadera—literally “mountain temple”—is a scenic spot in Yamagata prefecture. It’s a Tentai Buddhism temple established by Jikaku Daishi in 860 at the order of Emperor Seiwa.
It is said that famous haiku master Matsuo Bashō visited Yamadera in July, 1689.
Going up over 800-step staircase from its gate cause strong impression on visitors.

[4K] Visit Japan, Sakura Kashio River,
The Kashio River (柏尾川) is a river in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, about 50 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. It begins in Kashio, Totsuka-ku, Yokohama at the confluence of the Akuwa River (阿久和川) and the Hiradonagaya River (平戸永谷川) and flows for 11 kilometers to the city of Fujisawa, where it merges with the Sakai River at the confluence known as Kawana (川名).[1] The conjoined river, which is sometimes known as the Katase River, then flows into Sagami Bay at Enoshima Island.

Narita Station is just 10 minutes away from the airport. The 800m path leading to the temple from the station is an old town street where you can sample Japan through the famous regional delicacy of eel and traditional festivals. It would be a waste to simply visit Narita just to use the airport.

2019 NRV rondreis Klassiek Japan
(theehuizen).
Een bijzondere en onvergetelijke rondreis!

Magome Juku (Kiso Valley) - Gifu - 馬籠宿 - 4K Ultra HD
Gifu Magome-Juku (Kiso Valley) - 馬籠宿 - 4K Ultra HD : The third and last major post town alongside the Nakasendo Highway section of the Kiso Valley is Magome-Juku. Unlike Narai-Juku and Tsumago-Juku which are both located in Nagano , Magome-Juku is located in Gifu prefecture. It has also been completely restored to better accommodate tourists, but this makes Magome-Juku the least authentic post town of the three. Still it is definitively a place to stop in at if you are considering visiting the Kiso Valley.
Here as well you will find many ryokans and restaurants as well as the usual Honjin (tavern for officials) and Wakihonjin (tavern for the regular folks).

Kokubun ji Hondo Temple, Takayama, Japan, 2016
Matsunoo-taisha, April 2011!
Matsunoo-taisha is a Shinto shrine located approximately 1.3 kilometers south of the Arashiyama district of Kyoto, Japan. It is home to a spring at the base of the mountain, Arashiyama, that is believed to be blessed.
It is said that during the move of the capital from Nagaoka to Kyoto, a noble saw a turtle bathing in under the spring's waterfall and created a shrine there. It is one of the oldest shrines in the Kyoto area, its founding extending back to 700 AD. The restorative properties of the spring bring many local sake and miso companies to the shrine for prayers that their product will be blessed.
The shrine also serves a kinpaku (gold leaf filled) miki (or blessed sake) during hatsumode.
The shrine became the object of Imperial patronage during the early Heian period. In 965, Emperor Murakami ordered that Imperial messengers were sent to report important events to the guardian kami of Japan. These heihaku were initially presented to 16 shrines including the Matsunoo Shrine.
From 1871 through 1946, Matsunoo-taisha was officially designated one of the Kanpei-taisha, meaning that it stood in the first rank of government supported shrines.
Vlog 27 Japan: Shinkansen to Sendai
April 22, 2012.
So here's a video of my day trip to Sendai with my 2nd host mom at the end of april. I was going to originally record a voice over and put it into the video with me talking about stuff but then those files got corrupted so I had completely restart.
Next time maybe?
For now just some nice Japanese countryside scenery to enjoy.
Song is wind forest from the movie my neighbor totoro.
And I just realized I forgot to put a transition in at the beginning.
Dammit. This is going to drive me crazy.
Response to Let's Go To Japan
Just a quick rundown of my recommendations for a summer trip to Japan, this is my first proper video for YouTube, so there are a few mistakes, I was a bit nervous! I also need a better microphone for my camera.
About Sapporo and its famous seafood - Anthony Bourdain's series No Reservations had a really good episode that focused on Hokkaido's specialities, so check that out if you can find it! I think the episodes in question are around on YouTube somewhere.
Have fun on the trip, here are some links that go into detail about the places I'm talking about:
