Solo Trip to Japan: Rain and Melon Soda | Japaniku episode 6 (Ikutree)
READ ME: I am SO sorry about the sound guys. I knew my internal mic was weak but I was horrified when I watched the footage back as there is not much I can do about it. I'll continue uploading subtitles and hope that it'll be enough to make your viewing experience tolerable. It would be a shame not to upload these adventures though...
One word for this vlog: RAIN. This is the point where it started really pouring rain with the approach of typhoon Lan and it lasted for days on end. I tried to make the most of it but to be honest it was a little bit of a nightmare having to hold my camera, an umbrella and my phone for the maps :p I probably got water in the mic which didn't help... This is my short day in Shibuya and Harajuku!
Last October, I went on my very first solo trip all the way to my dream destination: Japan (!) with the firm intention of documenting my voyage as much as I could to share with you guys.
I hope that you'll enjoy discovering Japan through my lens and that I can motivate some of you to take that leap and to travel alone. If my shy bunny butt can do it, so can you! I'll be going from Tokyo through Osaka, Kyoto and Nara down to Hiroshima, Miyajima and Okunoshima before heading back to Tokyo but not without taking a brief day trip to Hakone before I fly back to Brussels.
I have TONS of footage to get through so bear with me and stay tuned for many more episodes of Japaniku!
Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions and/or feedback in the comments.

Our BIG RAMEN TOUR of JAPAN! Trying local ramen in 7 different cities + Shin Yokohama RAMEN MUSEUM
Very probably my favourite activity in Japan: discovering types of ramen I didn't even know existed! To be clear, I am not normally even that big on the usual styles that are available in the west, but this tour of Ramen shops has totally opened my eyes! So many new flavours, so many unexpected combinations! What's your favourite ramen style?

▶ Check out my gear on Kit:
This past winter I finally checked off one of the top items on my bucket list, ski powder in Japan with some of my best friends. It was an absolute blast getting the opportunity to ski some of the best snow on Earth. With this trip I had a few goals, capture some amazing photos and create a ski edit. This video is that goal and I can't wait to go back.
Enjoy!
