Cherokee Indian buildings from the early 1800's
Link to photos available as digital downloads for personal use only.
During the 1800's, the Cherokee Indians lived in hand crafted log buildings and farmed the land. The capital of the Cherokee Nation was located in New Echhota in the North Georgia Mountains. They lived in peace until the Trail of Tears when they were relocated to Oklahoma in 1831. A sad time in American History. You will see these farmstead buildings that have been preserved. You will see the two story brick home that belonged to Chief Vann. It was almost destroyed on purpose after Chief Vann was removed from his home, but today it stands in a Georgia State Historic Park near Chatsworth, Georgia, New Echota is a few miles south. I have converted all my photos to old time sepia for the time period. Photos are from winter and summer. Sit back and relax to the music and step back in time. Most photos will be available for sale on my Websites.

700 Pound Snake Pulled out of Lake in North Carolina
Giant 700 pound snake caught in lake in Proctor, North Carolina. The giant man eating python was measured at 98 feet long. Police were contacted to see if there have been any recently filed missing person reports as a snake this big could have surely eaten a human.
This giant snake is massive and just gorgeous, but it didn't take long to find out that the STORY behind it... was fake, just another hoax.
While the image is indeed real, I think the size of the giant snake could have been exaggerated due to the camera angle
Nevertheless, this snake is still huge, but where did it come from? The markings on it's skin looks similar to that of a reticulated python native to Southeast Asia. After playing around with a little Google translate, the mystery was finally solved.
This giant python came from Indonesia and after some rough translating, it turns out that it was discovered this last Thanksgiving near the village of Belinyu City. It was found by accident by a group of construction workers who severely injured the reptile while knocking down a large dead tree in which the python was sleeping inside of. The workers put the dying snake out of it's misery and buried it.
It's sad to see such an incredible animal killed, especially one that could have been a new world record size. I wish there were more pictures so we could get a better idea of just how large it was.
I really enjoyed learning about this amazing snake, if you guys have any cool wildlife stories or interesting animals that you think I might enjoy, tell me about it on Facebook

Hiking Through History: Civil War Sites along the Appalachian Trail
Featuring Leanna Joyner, author of Hiking through History, a hiker's guide to Civil War sites along the present-day Appalachian Trail. Here lies thirteen year old Milliard Haire, buried alongside two Shelton Laurel brothers, murdered during the Civil War. Were they Union heroes home recruiting for the cause, murdered for their loyalty? Or robbers held up in their mountain hideaway? A family history and a federal investigation lead to different conclusions. Hiking through History enables hikers to speculate about this and many other trailside mysteries which enable a glimpse at how mountain communities experienced the Civil War. Joyner has hiked the entire 2,175 mile trail, worked for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (publisher of the guide), and earned a BA in Public Relations from the Journalism School of the University of South Carolina.

ROY ORBISON - WikiVidi Documentary
Roy Kelton Orbison was an American singer-songwriter known for his distinctive, impassioned voice, complex song structures, and dark emotional ballads. The combination led many critics to describe his music as operatic, nicknaming him the Caruso of Rock and the Big O. Between 1960 and 1964, 22 of his songs placed on the Billboard Top 40, including Only the Lonely , Crying , In Dreams , and Oh, Pretty Woman . Born in Texas, Orbison began singing in a rockabilly and country and western band in high school. He was signed by Sam Phillips, Sun Records in 1956,, but his greatest success came with Monument Records in the early 1960s. While most male rock and roll performers in the 1950s and 1960s projected a defiant masculinity, many of Orbison's songs instead conveyed a quiet, almost desperate, vulnerability. His voice ranged from baritone to tenor, and music scholars have suggested that he had a three- or four-octave range. During performances, he was known for standing still ...
