▶︎ Great place beautiful park on the TN River / Chickamauga Lake
We live only 5 Miles from Harrison Bay State Park. We stayed in the Tent camping area recently. Lots of shade and one bath house with four separate shower / rest room combos, air conditioned as well. the tent spaces are large enough for one to two vehicles + your tent / gear. this was the tent area so there are no electric or water in site as to be expected. $ was very reasonable. there is also lots of trails and a great little camp store. playgrounds, swimming pool and SUP rentals just outside the park Entrance. The Raccoons are relentless don’t leave any food out and be sure you have good strong storage containers. they are fun to watch though. also there is a great restaurant, Dockside cafe in the park by the boat ramp. excellent food every time we eat there. lots of boat trailer parking just above the boat ramp. staff always very friendly and helpful.

Frozen Head State Park Tennessee
Frozen Head State Park and Natural Area is a state park in Morgan County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The park, situated in the Crab Orchard Mountains between the city of Wartburg and the community of Petros, contains some of the highest mountains in Tennessee west of the Blue Ridge.
Frozen Head State Park consists of approximately 24,000 acres (97 km2), all but 330 acres (1.3 km2) of which is classified as a state natural area. The terrain varies between 1,300 ft (400 m) to over 3,000 ft (910 m). with 14 peaks at or over 3,000 feet (910 m). Frozen Head, the park's namesake, is the highest peak at 3,324 feet (1,013 m). The mountain's name comes from its snow-capped appearance in colder months. The park's highest elevations allow for unobstructed views of East Tennessee's three main physiographic features: the Cumberland Plateau, the Tennessee Valley, and across the valley, the Great Smoky Mountains.

Chattanooga, a city in southeastern Tennessee, is set along the Tennessee River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Its trolleylike Incline Railway scales steep Lookout Mountain before reaching Ruby Falls waterfall and Rock City, featuring sweeping views, sandstone formations and gardens. Point Park, also atop Lookout, marks the site of a Civil War battle now honored at the Battles for Chattanooga Museum.
The city, with a downtown elevation of approximately 680 feet (210 m), lies at the transition between the ridge-and-valley portion of the Appalachian Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau. Surrounded by mountains and ridges, the official nickname for Chattanooga is Scenic City, reinforced by the city's reputation for outdoor activities. Unofficial nicknames include River City, Chatt, Nooga, Chattown, and Gig City, referencing Chattanooga's claims that it has the fastest internet service in the Western Hemisphere.
Chattanooga is internationally known for the 1941 song Chattanooga Choo Choo by Glenn Miller and his orchestra. Chattanooga is home to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and Chattanooga State Community College. Downtown Chattanooga showcases a wide variety of entertainment, dining, cultural and architectural attractions. Since the completion of the Tennessee Aquarium in 1992, the downtown area has experienced a wide array of development projects, including the Creative Discovery Museum and the reopening of the historic Walnut Street Bridge (Chattanooga).

Eaglets On The Way At Bear Trace
Several eyes are turning to Harrison Bay, specifically the Bear Trace Golf Course.The attention is focused on the nest of two bald eagles.They have two eaglets on the way.Thanks to the United States Golf Association, a camera monitors each movement.FOR A LIVE LOOK, CLICK HEREOn this brisk afternoon, Brandon Farrow hits a bag of range balls. Farrow plays golf at Bear Trace once a week.Hole number 10 and the towering pine tree behind it often capture his attention.That's the home of the bald eagle Elliot and his mate Eloise. And a look in on the Harrison Bay Eagle Cam reveals Eloise in the nest.Underneath her, two eggs. She laid one on February 4th and the next on February 7th. Farrow is excited about the future, More eagles, oh I'd love to see them. As many as they can bring.Golf course superintendent Paul Carter has taken over the eagle project, which started in 2010. The mission of this project is to show that golf courses can be environmental sanctuaries, Carter said.Since monitoring began, Elliot and Eloise have had 4 eaglets, these next two will be named HB5 and HB6. HB stands for Harrison Bay, which has proven a beautiful home for these majestic birds.In his rounds on the course, Farrow has seen them fly over numerous times. It's pretty awesome. I mean it's a bird our country looks up to.Another look in on eagle cam shows a shift change.Elliot relieves Eloise. The incubation period is usually 35 days.If all goes well, Harrison Bay should see two eaglets in the second week of March. To know that they would trust our golf course enough to raise their family makes us really proud. It's a tremendous thrill for us, Carter said with a sense of pride.And this year, a microphone, pan and tilt zoom has been added to the camera. They plan to zoom in when the hatch happens.Ron Patterson and his friends enjoyed the course and coming into the number 10 green. They play here quite often. We get a bird's eye view of them here everytime we play golf. It's great, Patterson said.Farrow said he would much rather see the eagles than make one on the course. Backpacking through the Prentice Cooper State Park near Chattanooga, TN was a highlight of the Summer. Although finding the right place to park and begin the trip proved to be more difficult than we thought, it ended up being an excellent backpacking trip worth remembering.

For the 1st time in 30 years, TVA allowed the media to ride on the tram on top of the Flume. It was to show the progress they are making in repairing a section wiped out by a rock slide last year. Videographer Ashley Henderson shows us the ride.

Mousetail Landing, Cliff Camping Overlooking the Tennessee
The second of our Mousetail Landing State Park videos, we arrive at the backpackers campsite (shelter #2) set on a cliff, overlooking the Tennessee River. I have decided that this is the prettiest campsite in Western Tennessee. Beautiful weather and beautiful scenery. We saw several different kinds of barges going up and down the river and a beautiful sunset. It was beautifully surreal!
