Established in 1911, Harry’s New York Bar in Paris’ 2nd arrondissement is one of the oldest cocktail bars in Europe and the birthplace of such iconic drinks as the Bloody Mary and French 75. But Harry’s has a less well known tradition of hosting a straw vote for the U.S. presidential elections, which has only twice since 1924 failed to predict its outcome. Who will win this year? C’est le week-end et on voulait vous donner une idée sortie pour aller gouter les coquetels les plus mythiques de l’histoire ????????????????.
Le lieu de naissance des Side Car, White Lady, Blue Lagoon, Bloody Mary, French 75 et consorts, tout ça à portée de Vélib' ?
Direction le Harry's New York Bar Paris, situé au Sank Roo Doe Noo (5 rue Dounou) dans le 2ème, le plus vieux bar américain ???????????????? (ancien nom des bars à cocktail) d’Europe crée en 1911 qui deviendra en 1923 le Harry’s après le rachat par l’un des barmen, Harry Mac Elhone.
Harry’s Bar représente un morceau des US en plein cœur du Paris historique. Son décor est celui d’un bar de New York ???????? démonté et rapatrié en France morceau par morceau.
Il parait même que c’est là-bas que James Bond a perdu sa virginité dans « Bons baisers de Paris » (1960)) de Ian Flemming, l’endroit parfait pour relancer son modjo estivale. Harry's New York Bar peut se targuer d'avoir servi des célébrités comme Ernest Hemingway, Coco Chanel, Jack Dempsey, Rita Hayworth, Wanda Montero, Humphrey Bogart, Paul Gordeaux et le duc de Windsor.
On espère que vous oserez pousser la porte de cet établissement hors-du-temps et plonger dans l’histoire des côquetels. Impossible de vous conseiller un côquetel en particulier tellement ils sont oufs, essayez quand même le Bar Fly (#porto, #pactonavio), le Gatsby (#monkeyshoulder, #chartreusejaune, #fallernum), le Side Car (#cognac, #cointreau), le Bloody mary (#vodka #jusdetomate #worcestershiresauce, #tabasco), le White Lady (#gin, #cointreau) entre autres ;)

A Few Drinks At the Bar Hemingway, Hotel Ritz, Paris
Bar Hemingway was the favourite bar of Ernest Hemingway and is said by some[who?] to be the birthplace of the Bloody Mary cocktail which was invented for him. However, the claim is disputed as Fernand Petiot claimed to have invented the drink in 1921 while working at Harry's New York Bar, a frequent Paris hangout for Hemingway and other American expatriates, rather than in the bar in the Ritz itself. The bar has been restored to its original appearance, with rich wood panelling and leather upholstery and has 25 original photographs on the walls taken by the author of places and people that inspired him.

Ernest Hemingway's Paris-Hemingway's favorite bars, brasseries, and cafes in Paris.
I've been fortunate enough to be in Paris and visit some of Hemingway's favorite haunts. I spend a lot of my mornings in cafes just sitting and observing. I am starting to understand Hemingway's description of Paris being a moveable feast. This place seems to impact me in ways that no other place has have done before. I've been having a good time tracing Hemingway's steps and imagining him sitting in the cafes writing and at the bars laughing amongst friends.
