There is no truer definition of North woods than the area of northern Wisconsin that includes Hayward. There are two kinds of people you'll meet Up North --- those who want to relax and those who don't. No matter which type you are, Hayward is the right place. You can enjoy all the conveniences of a great city, and then be in total wilderness in less than 20 minutes from downtown Hayward.
We started - where else? - in the shadow of the giant fish at the National Freshwater Fishing Museum and Hall of Fame. The first thing John realized is that there are two ways to spell the name of the type of fish that the sculpture represents: Muskie or Musky, depending on who he talked to. But in the end, it doesn't matter because anyone lucky enough to catch one spells it T-R-O-P-H-Y!
There are two preferred ways to get around in Hayward --- by boat or by skis. There are two kinds of wood workers --- those who use tools to make furniture and those who use chainsaws to make art. There are two kinds of lumberjacks at Fred Sheers --- the winners and the losers. There are two kinds of residents --- summer (the majority) and year round (the minority). There are two kinds of housing --- cabins in the woods or cabins on a lake.
It took all week, but John did master the spelling of Birkiebeiner: B-I-R-K-I-E! He also changed the spelling of Hayward to H-E-A-V-E-N!

The American History Film Project is an multi-disciplinary educational project that teaches students to research, write, plan, act, film and edit a short film about the history of their local community, and then share it with other kids across the USA.

By the end of the project students will have created a short film (under 10 minutes) to share with their school, their local community and other schools across the United States.
Through the American History Film Project, students, under the direction of an adult, will learn to work together as a team towards this common goal.
Through working on this project, students will learn history in a hands-on approach.
The American History Film Project will give each student the chance to find some of their own abilities. Some students will be better at acting, others writing, yet others, behind the scenes doing everything from filming and editing, budgeting and prop management.
By connecting with other schools across the country, students will learn the importance of their own community in the whole of United States.
The American History Film Project is open to any school (public or private) home school co-op or after school program (YMCA, or Boys and Girls Clubs, for example) that would like to participate.

Qazi Fazl Ullah is an American philosopher, linguist, and author. He is Fazil Wafaqul Madaris where he studied Arabic grammar, Arabic literature, Fiqh, jurisprudence, logic, philosophy, Ilmul Kalam, Seerah, Tafseer, Hadith, and Islamic history. He studied at Peshawar University and Islamic University Islamabad in Pakistan and specialized in law, economics, and political science. He has taught all these subjects in Pakistan and the United States at different institutions. He was elected as a National Assembly Parliamentarian in Pakistan. He worked in underserved areas to provide jobs, build infrastructure, schools, museums, public health facilities, and increase communication technologies as the chair of the Social Action Board. He has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, South East Asia, North and Central America. He has given seminars in various parts of the world in these subjects. He speaks and has given lectures and seminars in Urdu, Pashto, Farsi, English, and Arabic. He has published works in Pashto, Urdu, Arabic, and English internationally. He has given the complete Tafsir Ul Quran in Pashto multiple times in Pakistan. He has also given Tafsir Ul Quran in Urdu, Pashto, and English in the United States. It includes Usul Ul Fiqh, Usul Ul Mirath, Hadith al Qudsi, Hadith an Nabawi in English on multiple occasions. He considers himself a student to continue acquisitions of knowledge. He is currently leading Tafsir Ul Quran, Usual Al Fiqh, Seerat Un Nabi, Science of Inheritance (Mirath) in English and Al Mukhtar Lil Fatawa, Dirayat Ul Riwaya in Arabic in Los Angeles, California.

UC DAVIS Aggies - 1971, underdogs against Far Western Conference power Hayward State. Game held in Hayward, CA on November 6, 1971. No audio in this clip. Coach Jim Sochor (College Football Hall of Fame) & the Aggies were down 29-14 in the closing minute of the game. In 20 seconds, the AGS scored 16 to upset and defeat Hayard 30-29. First score, recover the onside kick, second score - game over.
