Hermosa Beach is a beachfront city located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California. Hermosa Beach is bordered by the other two beach cities, Manhattan Beach to the north and Redondo Beach to the south.
The city's beach is popular for sunbathing, beach volleyball, surfing, paddleboarding, bars, cycling and running. The city itself extends only about 15 blocks from east to west and 40 blocks from north to south, with Pacific Coast Highway running down the middle.
A paved path, called The Strand, runs along Hermosa's beach from Torrance Beach in the south approximately twenty miles north to Santa Monica. The Hermosa Beach pier is at the end of Pier Avenue, which is one of the beach community's main shopping, eating and partying areas.
The Hermosa Beach Pier, extends 1,140 feet from the Strand toward the Pacific Ocean. The current Hermosa Beach Pier structure was built in 1965 and renovated in the early 2000s.

The Strand, officially known as Marvin Braude Bike Trail, is a 22-mile bike path that runs mostly along the Pacific Ocean shoreline in Los Angeles County, California. The paved bike path starts from Will Rogers State Beach to Santa Monica and Venice Beach, then to Marina Del Rey, Playa del Rey and to the Beach Cities of the South Bay: Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo, down to Torrance Beach, where the path ends.

Hermosa Beach Pier. Hermosa Beach, California. June 9th, 2018
I took my Yuneec Typhoon H out on June 9th, 2018 and flew over Hermosa Beach, California and it's pier. The weather was nice, it was a bright sunny day with a slight breeze on the ground.
During my flight I noticed a water truck parked and taped off on the pier next to a large octopus, the sand sculpture is being used as backdrop for a pilot television series, currently filming at Slaters.

Pier Avenue to Hermosa Beach Pier Walking Tour, 2019 4K
To compliment our Hermosa Beach walking video, we decided to add not only a walk of the pier, but that of the pier road all the way down.
This area is covered with shops and eateries so we figured it would be a good add on.
Having spent a lot of time in the area, this is one of my favorite places. Everything is close and it's a little more relaxing that the hustle of other beaches.
