Tucked away, in the shadow of skyscrapers, you'll find a sea of heroes resting on a foreign lawn. Thousands of marble crosses, lined up in formation.
FOX31 anchor Jeremy Hubbard recently visited the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines, where more than 17,000 American men and women who died in Asia during World War II are buried. Thousands more, whose bodies were never recovered, are honored on the Wall of the Missing.
Among them, 627 Colorado men... and one Colorado woman.

In honor of US Veterans Day, lets visit Manila American Cemetery for Fallen Heroes
Established in 1948, the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, Metro Manila, occupies 152 acres of land and contains the largest number of graves of military dead of World War II, a total of 17,206 Burials and 3,744 Unknown burials most of whom lost their lives in operations in New Guinea and the Philippines. The headstones are aligned in 11 plots forming a generally circular pattern, set among masses of a wide variety of tropical trees and shrubbery.

He just told me video and picture taking is not allowed. So if you guys are planing to pay a visit, you might just wanna reconsider.

BEHIND MARAWI HEROES
Behind the operations in Marawi, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Philippine Army based in Cagayan de Oro City also conducts support operations in order to:
a. Prevent the spill-over of conflict in Cagayan de Oro and nearby provinces.
b. Soldiers fighting in Marawi received the needed supply and equipment in time.
c. Donations from stakeholders are managed properly and distributed to the intended recepients.
d. Wounded soldiers from Marawi are given immediate and quality medical attention.

1.Libingan ng mga Bayani ( LNMB) - Heroes' Cemetery, officially known as Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB), is a national cemetery within Fort Bonifacio (formerly Fort William McKinley) in Western Bicutan, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines.
2.Simborio - The Simborio is a dome-shaped structure located at the center of Sta. Ana Cemetery in Taguig in the Philippines. It was built by the Filipinos during the 18th Century through the supervision of Spanish friars.
3.Taguig City Church - The Saint Anne Parish Church, also known as Santa Ana Church or also known in its formal name as the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Anne, is a Catholic church located at Barangay Santa Ana, Taguig. It is situated next to the Taguig River and across Plaza Quezon, where the statue of the late President Manuel L. Quezon was erected when he was still serving as President of the Republic. Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, occupying 152 acres of land in McKinley, Fort Bonifacio contains the largest number of graves of American and allied servicemen.
It is free and open to the public everyday from 9 AM to 5 PM. But an ID is presented to the guards at the entrance for registration purposes.

The burial of Ferdinand Marcos, the 10th President of the Philippines (1965–1986) was originally scheduled on September 13, 2016
and later on October 18, 2016 at the Heroes' Cemetery in Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines.
On November 8 of the same year, the Supreme Court eventually decided that Marcos be buried at Heroes' Cemetery on an unspecified date.
The burial of Marcos took place on November 18, 2016...
Pres. Rodrigo Duterte supported the burial of Ferdinand Marcos at the Heroes' Cemetery, even before he assumed presidency and expressed this stance at his presidential campaign in the 2016 elections.
Duterte has expressed that a burial of Marcos at the site would commence the healing of the Philippines and pointed out Marcos' idealism and vision for the country through his projects which stood the test of time and that Marcos' dictatorship remains to be debated.
Duterte previously stated that Marcos could have been the best president if not for the abuses during the Martial law period under Marcos' watch. At the Visayas leg of the PiliPinas Debates 2016,
Duterte and fellow candidate Jejomar Binay expressed their support for a Marcos burial at the heroes' cemetery.
