Japan’s second busiest zoo behind Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo, Nagoya’s Higashiyama Zoo is home to an impressive over 550 species of animals, including elephants, penguins, bears, tigers, giraffes, birds, reptiles, hippos, apes, lions, skunks, rhinos, seals and more. One of Asia’s biggest zoological gardens, the well-planned Higashiyama is famous for the story of the keepers trying to save the elephants during wartime, and for having introduced Koalas to Japan. Recently Shabani the Gorilla has been making world-wide headlines for being the “World’s most handsome gorilla”. The zoo also has one of the oldest monorails in operation. Still futuristic looking in design, the two-station monorail provides transportation around the park, and spectacular views too.

愛知県名古屋市にある東山動植物園に住んでいるニシゴリラのシャバーニ一家の動画です。
「イケメン」ゴリラで大人気のシャバーニをボスに２頭の嫁さんと２頭の子供の計５頭で暮らしています。
東山動植物園はコアラが目玉でしたが、最近はシャバーニに人気を奪われ、シャバーニが東山動植物園を代表する動物になっています。

Elephants eat mainly hay about 70 kg a day. Why do they eat so much food?
Because they cannot maintain their life with a low calorie hay.
When I asked a caretaker, he said elephants ate their favorite food first.
They are tamed to caretakers, follow them enough.
As a caretaker, elephants are like their children, just adorable one.

Japanese women swoon over 'handsome' gorilla Shabani at the Higashiyama Zoo in Nagoya - TomoNews
Nagoya, Japan — A western lowland gorilla named Shabani has women in Japan swooning over his good looks. The Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya, where Shabani lives, has recently experienced a significant increase in female visitors hoping to ogle and stare at the sexy Shabani.
Shabani is originally from the Netherlands but was raised in Australia. He moved to Japan in 2007, where women are now calling him ikemen, which is Japanese for an extremely good-looking man.
