Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | In this program we explore the cultural heart of Scotland. After rambling through Edinburgh Castle, we experience Scottish literature and Scotch whisky, savor the new Scottish cuisine with a local friend, stow away on Her Majesty's yacht Britannia, and check out the new Scottish Parliament.

Autumn Road Trip Drive To Strathtay Highland Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland travel video of an Autumn road trip drive on the A9 and A827 roads on ancestry to visit to the village of Strathtay, Highland Perthshire. The original settlement was at the east of the village at Tullypourie. The witches of Strathtay and Grandtully had their great meeting place at Tullypourie.
Visting Katie in Scotland Summer 2017
The first couple days of our perfect trip in the Shetland Islands of Scotland, UK. Landed and immediately ran a 5k track race, cheered the home team in the big football rivalry & enjoyed a BBQ on the beach with fabulous company... along with logging some beautiful runs as the 3 huskateers xxx

Scottish Polar Bears, Tigers & Monkeys. Kingussie Highland Wildlife Park
A sunny July day in Kingussie Scotland - and watch out for the tigers and monkeys and polar bears! Set in the Scottish Cairngorm Mountains, the Highland Wildlife Park is a treat for animal lovers of all ages.
Scottish Deer Centre
We went to visit the Scottish Deer Centre in Cupar and had so much fun. It was too cold to meet Nelly the bear or the wildcats. We will definitely be back! We recommend buying some food for £1.50 at the front desk! Also head for the afternoon so you can see all the talks and feeding times.

Video Transcript
Kristina: So we have just arrived in Edinburgh and we’re in our hostel that were staying at. This is our first hostel experience and we have bunk beds. This is Cody’s bunk bed called Talisker?...I think that’s how you say it, and then mine is Laphroaig, and that’s my bed and this is the room. So we’re at Castle Rock Hostel and right behind us is this huge castle. We just checked in. We’re gonna get all of our stuff to go out into the city before we go on our tour tomorrow, and hopefully we’ll enjoy some good Scottish food although I’m a little apprehensive about...what was it? With the liver...what’s it called? Well, there’s like liver and blood and that sort of thing so I’m gonna stay away from that.
NOTE: These are popular Scottish dishes known as Haggis and Blood Pudding.
Kristina: But I’m gonna have, like, goats cheese, and there’s lots of cashmere being sold on the streets and people playing bagpipes and people with owls, and there’s a huge festival going on that we didn’t know was going on, so this is gonna be fun and exciting.
The Streets of Edinburgh…
At the Whiskey Experience...
At Culloden...
Kristina: Where are we? Culloden? The battle where the Scottish and the British fought for the Scottish Independence in 1746. All of this is wide open.
At Cuillin Hills...
Kristina: So people are putting their face in the water for eternal beauty and to slow the process of aging.
At Brother’s Point…
Kristina: So we are hiking to Brother’s Point for a picnic and some exercise. There’s lots of sheep everywhere, so cute!
Sign: Dear friend, the cliffs ahead are very steep. If you decide to walk further, you do so at your own risk. Please be very careful.
Kristina: We made it! So we are on the second day of our tour, which is the second to last day, and Scotland is beautiful. My husband’s ruining everything down there (laughs), but this country is just gorgeous and we got really good weather. It’s too bad that it rains all the time because look how great it is in the sunlight.
Hiking Quiraing Mountains…
Kristina: So we’re in the middle of nowhere, hiking, and Cody gets a phone call. I haven’t had service for the past, like, 6 hours. It’s ridiculous! And he took the call! This is supposed to be quality time. Tsk, tsk.
Turns out...our tour guide called Cody to give us directions.
Cody was forgiven.
Kristina: So hopefully we’ll be back again someday after this tour-
Cody: Nope.
Kristina: (laughs) No, he loves it. He just doesn’t want to admit it on camera.
Thank you, Scotland! And thanks for watching!

4K Scotland The Brave Mavic pro
this weeks video filmed at cathkin mountain bike trails, culzean castle, the rest and be thankful, dunure castle, and glasgow park and whitelees wind farm.
Culzean Castle -
This glorious 260ha estate was once the playground of David Kennedy, 10th Earl of Cassillis – a man who was keen to impress with his wealth and status. Opulent to the extreme, the park is planted with conifers and beech, sculpted around miles of sandy coastline dotted with caves, and finished off with a Swan Pond, an ice house, flamboyant formal gardens and fruit-filled glasshouses.
The castle itself is perched on the Ayrshire cliffs. It was designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century and is filled to the turrets with treasures that tell the stories of the people who lived here.
Dunure Castle -
The site dates from the late 13th century; the earliest charter for the lands dating from 1256, but the remains of the building are of 15th- and 16th-century origin. One tradition is that the castle was built by the Danes and another states that the Mackinnons held the castle from Alexander III, as a reward for their valour at the Battle of Largs.
The castle is the point of origin of the Kennedys of Carrick, who once ruled over much of south western Scotland and were granted the lands in 1357. Sir James Balfour described Dunure as a grate and pleasand stronge housse, the most ancient habitation of the surname of Kennedy, Lairds of Dunure, now Earles of Cassiles. This family should not be confused with the renowned American Kennedy family which came from Co. Wexford in Ireland.
In August 1563, Mary, Queen of Scots, visited the castle for three days during her third progress round the west of the country.
The Celtic name Dunure or Dunoure is said to derive from the hill or fort of the yew tree
whitelees wind farm -
Whitelee Wind Farm is the largest on-shore wind farm in the United Kingdom with 215 Siemens and Alstom wind turbines and a total capacity of 539 megawatts.

Highland Wildlife Park Review
We want you to have a fantastic day out, so please visit their website
Sometimes the animals might seem a bit difficult to spot. They are definitely there though! Take your time, look really hard and you never know, you might just find them looking back at you! Our staff and volunteers are on hand to help around the park. Remember, some of our animals are active at different times of the day so it's always worthwhile revisiting an enclosure.
