HILO HAWAII 4K
This is a virtual tour with natural sounds of Hilo Hawaii. Hilo is the second biggest city in Hawaii and the largest on the big island. Hilo is a city that seems more like a town and feels very much like it did many decades ago. Loacted in the rainforest of east Hawaii island, there are tropical rain forests and botanical gardens with beautiful waterfalls in the area around Hilo.

Hawaii Vlog #2 | Akaka Falls Rainbow & Hilo Farmer's Market | Dropped My Phone in the Ocean!!
In this episode, follow us along on our first full day on the Big Island! We wake up super early since we gained a few hours to catch the sunset. Mauna Kea was glowing and it was an amazing start to the day. We even caught the Celebrity Solstice dock onto shore. After checking out the grounds of our hotel, we stop by Hilo's Farmers Market. It was awesome seeing all these exotic fruits and huge avocados. We make the drive to Akaka falls and it was majestic! There was a rainbow at the bottom of the falls. We tried our best to catch it on film, hopefully you guys can see it! Lunch was at Hawaiian Style Cafe where we had the Hawaiian Style french toast and the poke bowl. The food is great, make sure to stop here! We wanted to check out an organic grocery store in Hilo so we stopped by Island Naturals Grocery Store and was able to score a Bronner's Travel Size soap. We got Lomi Lomi massages for the first time at Banyan Massage in Hilo! Experience was truly healing, make sure to book with Jen. We went to Richardson Black Sand beach were I was able to capture some film before dropping my phone in the ocean. Had to find some rice to hopefully try to salvage my phone. We didn't have too many choices for dinner so we found this late night sushi spot. It was a great first full day, stay tuned for Vlog #3 where we see if the rice saves my phone!

We really enjoyed editing this vlog. Somehow it followed a Wizard of Oz theme without us even trying. There was even a rainbow at the end of the waterfalls! Hope you guys like it!

Big Island Hawaii. Part 23. Hilo Town.
December 2009. Music by Les Baxter.
HILO:
Hilo is a coastal town in the State of Hawaiʻi. It is the largest settlement on the island of Hawaiʻi, and the second largest settlement in the state. The population was 40,759 at the 2000 census.
Hilo is the county seat of Hawaiʻi County, Hawaiʻi, and is situated in the South Hilo District. The town overlooks Hilo Bay, and is near two shield volcanoes, Mauna Loa, considered active, and Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano upon which some of the best ground-based astronomical observatories are placed. NCL PRIDE OF AMERICA:
For much of its early (pre-commissioning) history, Pride of America was known as Project America 1; the first of a pair of 70,000-ton cruise ships to be built at the Litton-Ingalls shipyard in Mississippi with heavy federal subsidies. Project America was intended as a means of improving the competitiveness of American shipyards in performing commercial (non-military) construction, as well as creating the first American-registered passenger ships of any real size in decades. The Project America program collapsed in 2001, when American Classic Voyages Inc., the company that was to operate the ships under its United States Lines division, filed for bankruptcy.
Norwegian Cruise Line Ltd. acquired the partially-finished ship, and had her towed to Germany for completion as Pride of America for their newly-launched NCL America division. In the process, the ship was lengthened considerably, from 850 ft. to 920, growing from 72,000 gross tons to more than 80,000. Under NCL America, the ship was initially slated for completion in 2004, but the delivery date was pushed back to 2005 after a major storm hit the Lloyd Werft shipyard and caused considerable damage to the vessel, partially sinking her at its berth. A special exemption on the part of the US Government allowed the largely foreign-built ship to attain US registry.
After the transfer of Pride of Aloha and Pride of Hawaii, she is currently the only American registered major cruise ship serving the Hawaiian market from Honolulu. (wikipedia)

Life in Hilo, Living in Hilo, Visitng Hilo
This is a very general speaking video about Hilo touching on the customs and culture of Hilo in terms of what defines life in Hilo and surrounding areas.
Hawaiian On The Move: This is Hilo Hawaii
Planning a trip to Hawaii but want some ideas other than Honolulu or Waikiki? How about Hilo? On this episode we will briefly cover the Town of Hilo my home. Hilo is the easternmost city of the state of Hawaii and has an average rainfall of 126 inches a year. Although it may be one of the rainiest towns in the world, when the sun is out Hilo shines brighter than any other city in all of Hawaii. That's why I am so proud to call it my home. I do not make any claim to the music you hear in this video and if you want to know the sound track go ahead and shazam it. If you liked the video let me know, and subscribe while you're at it. I also need to make a statement that my history accounts in this video may not be correct but feel free to do your own research, and the waterfall you see in this video is actually called Pe'epe'e Falls but growing up my friends and I would call it KPUA falls.
The City of Hilo Hawaii
This is a small documentary about Hilo, Hawaii. I go around a few town in the city and explore the history of the area.
It features Mackenzie National Park, Kilauea Volcano, Kalapana, Star of the sea Church, Lava Tree Park, Ahalanui Park- Hot Fresh Water Pond, and extensive knowledge of the island as a whole.
Written, shot, and edited by Amber M Sherman.
Exploring Hilo HI - Japanese Gardens, Macadamia Farm, Downtown (Hawaii Travel Vlog 4)
Part 4 of the Hawaii series of videos. This video covers day 5 of the adventure.
Watch Part 3:
Day 5 of our Hawaiian adventure was spent exploring the city of Hilo. In Hilo there is a very nice Japanese Garden (the largest authentic ornamental Japanese garden outside of Japan) Lilioukalani Gardens. We also got to see the Mauna Lao Macadamia Nut factory just south of Hilo. This is one of the largest macadamia farms in the world. Finally we finished the day by exploring the downtown area of Hilo.
