HIMEJI YUKATA FESTIVAL (MATSURI)
This week I'm at the Himeji Yukata Matsuri (Festival). It's Himeji's oldest festival going back more than 260 years. There's not much to this festival except for yatai (festival stalls). But the festival food made the trip worth it.

4K Nightlife in Japan Walking Around Himeji, Hyogo | Zhiyun Crane 2 | A7RIII
Just a combination of a bunch of clips I have from walking around Himeji City at night. Thought some of you guys might like to see it, so instead of deleting it, here you go!
I was trying to get a feel for the Crane 2 as well as develop my gimbal walk still need more practice!
Note:
1. Not sure what going on with the strobe like effect in some of these clips
2. I need to learn to use manual focus at night! The A7RIII was searching a lot in this low light.
3. I don't have a third point, I just felt weird stopping at 2.

Tokyo Walk - Harajuku (原宿) - 4K
In this video we’ll show you Harajuku (原宿).
Every area in Tokyo has its own distinct appeal. Harajuku is extremely popular for the unique qualities it possesses, which are even unlike other shopping districs such as Shibuya and Shinjuku.
Harajuku is known as a fashion town where people wear outstanding clothing in bright as well as pastel colors or dark gothic lolita outfits. It is also famous as the birthplace of the kawaii culture. Harajuku is full of cafes and apparel stores that have a creative pop culture vibe such as the Kawaii Monster Cafe Harajuku and the 6% Dokidoki boutique, which are very unique even to Japan.
On the other hand, the abundant nature of Meiji Jingu and Yoyogi Park, as well as the Ota Memorial Museum of Art, where you can enjoy ukiyo-e art, are right besides Harajuku Station as well. This unusual combination creates a diverse array of ways to enjoy yourself in Harajuku.

Himeji Castle 姫路城 - 4K
Himeji Castle is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Japan. The castle has never been damaged by wars or natural disaster. We had a day trip from Osaka to Himeji. Along the way, we also enjoyed some yummy food and saw the longest suspension bridge in the world.

The Annual Himeji Castle Matsuri in Japan (2017).
Saturday May 13 the annual “Himeji Oshiro Matsuri (姫路お城)” was held. There was a festive mood around the famous “White Heron Castle” The castle was founded in 1333 when a fort was constructed on Himeyama hill by Akamatsu Norimura (赤松 則村 1277 - February 18 1350) the ruler of the ancient Harima Province.
Different groups from Himeji City and all across Japan took part. Highlight is of course Senhime or Lady Sen (千姫) who was the eldest daughter of the shogun Tokugawa Hidetada and his wife Oeyo. She was born during the Warring-States period of Japanese history. Her paternal grandfather was the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Senhime is a beloved figure in Himeji. Shortly after her marriage to Honda Tadatoki they moved to Himeji Castle whose west wing was mostly constructed at that time. Most of the west wing is lost now but a tower called keshō yagura (Dressing Tower) remains where it is believed that she actually groomed herself.

Harajuku in Tokyo, Japan - Walkaround - 4K Japan (Ultra HD)
Harajuku is one of the busiest places in Japan with its young hipster like feel. There are many fashion and food shops to cater to younger people with many of the world's top brands having stores here. As well as finding some of the newest brands and fashion here, you'll also see some of the weirdest stuff you'll ever find. Lots of people walk around in some sort of cosplay or character's costumns which makes this place a must see for anyone traveling to Tokyo.

JAPAN: Two Castles in Two Days
In this second video of my trip to three castles in three days in Japan. I leave the Funtoco Backpackers hostel and explore Osaka during the daytime. The first location taking me to Shittenoji Temple, a temple from 593 AD thought of as the first buddhist temple in Japan. It was founded by Prince Shotoku. Along the way I walked up Tenjinzaka. I also rotated a little 転法輪印, or dharma wheel. I think I spun it the correct way haha.
Then I took a short metro ride to Osaka Castle or 大坂城. It was built in 1583 and since then has been restored. I didn't spend much time there though because it was so crowded.
I then headed to Mos Burger to have lunch. It's a Japanese fast food chain that has your typical fast food fare. I had a Teriyaki burger and a melon soda that was the greenest thing I've ever seen in my life. It was pretty good! And I had a little snack from a Lawson convenience store that was great.
I then got back on at Osakajokoen station to head to Mino Falls. I transferred at Osaka station to get on the Takarazuka line to head to Mino-o station.
Next up was a walk up to the actual falls itself. It turned out this was a fairly popular tourist destination as well. I took some back trails to avoid most of the crowds though. Along the path there were lots of stalls deep frying maple leaves, also known as maple leaf tempura or momiji. I knew I should have tried it so you guys could experience it, but I just could not bring myself to eat a leaf. I'm sure it was fine, but I just wasn't in the mood to eat a leaf.
Along the path I found a Sakura viewing spot, that didn't have any of the cherry blossoms blooming anyway. I found a statue of the dude on the 1000 yen bill. His name is Hideo Noguchi. I didn't realize it at the time though.
Mino falls itself was pretty disappointing all things considered, especially compared to the trail overall. So overall the hike was definitely worth it. After, I took a train back to Osaka station and then rode the shinkansen bullet train to Himeji, my next destination. There really is no feeling quite like taking a long distance train ride gazing out at the scenery of Japan.
After getting to Himeji, I walked down this cool shopping street called Nishi Nikai Machi to get to a Hostel called One Hostel and Standing Bar. Enjoyed a quick shower and then had Tsukemen, a Japanese dish where you dip noodles in a hot soup.
The next morning I headed to Himeji Castle, the largest castle in Japan. It is also known as the White Heron Castle both because of its color and because it looks like a heron sprawled out over the landscape from above. Along the way I saw the Himeji City Zoo and the City Museum of Art from the outside. I went inside Himeji Castle and it was much more impressive from the outside. Just seemed kind of small when you actually went inside.
I then headed to Takeda, which was an hour train ride north to see Takeda Castle. When I got to Takeda Station, it was nearly a ghost town it was so quiet and empty. Until next time...
Once again sorry for the terrible autofocus.
