JR Hirosaki Station, Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture
JR Hirosaki Station is the main gateway for the Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture.
Once a famous Castle town for the Tsugaru Clan, nowadays Hirosaki City is known as the largest producer of apples in Japan. Everywhere you walk in the city you see apples being sold in many stores.

Hirosaki Japan Travel Tips
Hirosaki Japan Travel Guide [Highlights]
Hirosaki developed as a castle town for the 100,000 koku Hirosaki Domain ruled by the Tsugaru clan.
The city is currently a regional commercial center and the largest producer of apples in Japan.[2] The city government has been promoting the catchphrase Apple Colored Town Hirosaki.
Hirosaki has perhaps the cutest little castle in Japan. Long before its construction in 1810, a much larger structure stood in its place, but like so many castles in Japan, it burnt to the ground when struck by lightning in 1627. Although diminutive, it is genuine – not a concrete reconstruction with air conditioning and light switched.

HIROSAKI THE APPLE PIE TOWN ???? ????
Hello Guys!
So I am back with another video from our trip to Aomori.
We spent some time in Hirosaki city, more than we planned because of the typhoon that hit the area we stayed (some footage in the upcoming video).
They say that Hirosaki is the city of cafes, but I think it is the city of APPLE PIE! We tried a LOT and the best ones we had were from a small place where the owner baked the pies himself (I could tell as his hands were covered in flour as he came back from the kitchen). This is the name of the place: 白銀館, I did not find any website, only found it on Google Map. It is right opposit to the Castle Park.
We visited the Castle, we saw one of the Samurai-merchant houses right behind the Castel Park, quickly run through the Neputa Village where we had some fresh sembei. We went to Iwakiyama Jinja and walked around the surrounding apple fields and OFC we had to see the Apple Park in Hirosaki where you can buy apples for a pretty good price.
If you like these videos please subscribe to my channel and leave a comment!
Thank you!!!
See you in the next one!!

Spring in Hirosaki - Cherry Blossom Festival - Go!Go!Tohoku!! Japan Travel
One of the largest Cherry Blossom Festivals in the whole of Japan - Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival. Located in the Castle Park of Hirosaki in Aomori Prefecture, the festival is from late April to early May each year (so if you miss the season in Kyoto and Tokyo, here is your chance)! The entire castle moat becomes a carpet of pink as the petals start to fall. The cherry blossoms don't last long, so be sure not to miss it!

Sakura Cherry Blossoms in Hirosaki - Japan ᴴᴰ ● 桜まつり青森弘前⎮Japan Travel Vlog
►Hirosaki Castle Park is home to almost 3000 sakura trees, with over 50 different types - and in my opinion, it's THE best spot of anywhere in Japan to watch the cherry blossoms.
There are lots of great places around Tokyo to watch the sakura cheery blossom, but Hirosaki in Aomori isn't just great, it's an overwhelming experience, with sakura everywhere you look, in this beautiful castle park, with Mount Iwaki (Iwakiyama) serving as a perfect backdrop.
Aomori is located north of Tokyo, 3h10m by Shinkansen, right under the island of Hokkaido. Once you get to Aomori City, it's another 50 minutes by local train to Hirosaki, but well worth the effort, and I'd say it's something you should see just once in your life.
- Enjoy!

Hirosaki in one week | JST VLOG
Today I am walking with you in Hirosaki, one of the most important city in Aomori-ken, in Tsugaru region.
I spent there a week during my last fieldwork, and I fell in love with this place and its different atmospheres.
I especially enjoyed the old castle (from the early XVII century) and the area of the temples just south of the Hirosaki Park.
And I love the lights and the quiet life of this city, that once again made me mad in love with Japan.

Hirosaki Castle Chrysanthemum and Autumn Foliage Festival | Japan Travel Vlog
In the beginning of the video I showed we were driving through the Hakkoda Mountains, they are a volcanic complex located in the south of Aomori City. The range consists of more than a dozen stratovolcanoes and lava domes arranged into two volcanic groups. This mountain range can get up to 14 feet + of snow. It’s not just the powder on the ground that makes Hakkoda unique - the mountain’s characteristic “Snow Monsters” make an unforgettable scenic backdrop. The Snow Monsters are produced when water droplets carried by strong seasonal winds clash with the evergreens and freeze in place to create unique shapes. There are only a select few mountains in Japan that have the unique climatic conditions necessary to produce these Snow Monsters, and Hakkoda is one of them.
As we were driving we stopped at Jigokunuma Pond. “The 4,500 meter crater lake was made by an eruption that occurred during the end of volcanic activity of Mt. Hakkoda (about 800 years ago) . As highly acid hot water (90 degrees C) spouts out 2,700L per minute from the pond, the place is suited to fish habitat.”
“The Hirosaki Castle Chrysanthemum and Autumn Foliage Festival takes place at Hirosaki Park which is home to the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival, an annual event held in April that was selected as one of Japan’s 100 most famous cherry blossom spots, bringing in over 2 million people every year. The castle tower at the park along with the three watchtowers and five castle gates are also registered as important cultural properties. It is also known for being the place where the Hirosaki Domain resided which was ruled by the Tsugaru clan.
The Hirosaki Castle Chrysanthemum and Autumn Foliage Festival has been held every autumn since 1962. It serves as a reminder of autumn-time Hirosaki with around maple 1,000 trees dyeing the park in autumnal hues. The 2,600 or so cherry blossom trees there, which turn a beautiful pink in spring, also take on fall colours.
When the sun sets at the festival, the castle tower, gates and the park are lit up with bright illuminations. The park is made even more beautiful by the glowing trees and illumined castle which cast reflections on the water surface.”
Unfortuntely we were not able to stay until the illumination because we wanted to be able to safely drive home before it got dark on the mountain. We had such a fun day celebrating the last bit of fall foliage of 2019.

It is the cherry blossoms in full bloom of Hirosaki Park (Hirosaki Castle) in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, which is considered to be the most beautiful in Japan.
In the night time, there is a cherry blossom light up, and you can enjoy a fantastic scene that seems to be different from daytime.
On the day of filming, the cherry blossoms were at their best in the morning and the flowers started to scatter from the afternoon, and there was a place where I could see the flower raft partly at the light up of the night. In this movie, we re-edited the image of Hirosaki park's cherry tree which was open to the public in the past and up-converted from 4K to 8K by performing pixel supplement processing. Please enjoy the magnificent view of Japan boasting of the world revived with high definition and beautiful images.

Hirosaki Sakura Festival (弘前桜まつり) 2017
Hirosaki Sakura Festival (弘前桜まつり)2017.
Sakura season has just over in Aomori prefecture. This video highlights the best shots of Hirosaki castle park's sakura!
Next year 2018, Hirosaki park's 100th Sakura festival. So cannot miss it! Plan your trip to Hirosaki, Japan next year spring!
For viewing Sakura, this park is highly recommended :)
There are about 2,600 Sakura trees, and they are extremely gorgeous! Probably, it's one of the best Sakura festivals in Japan, personally I felt it's my best Sakura festival ever!
You can walk through a cherry blossoms tunnel and enjoy the view from a boat in the castle's west moat.
It takes about 2hrs (actually it took me more than that!) to walk around the castle park.
and.. it's more than cherry trees, they have entertaining events too! which is very amusing!
Location: Hirosaki Castle Park
Duration: April 22 - May 7 (May slightly change by year)
JR Hirosaki locates 40 mins by train from Aomori station. To get to Hirosaki Castle park, take a loop bus (100 yen) from bus terminal in front of Hirosaki station or walk about 30 mins from the station.
As this place locates a little country side, it would be ideal to learn basic Japanese for you to enjoy Japan fully :)
Traveler's Japanese iPhone App will help you to learn basic travel Japanese!

Hirosaki, Japan
Hirosaki, au nord de l'île principale d'Honshū au Japon célèbre chaque année pendant une semaine les cerisiers en fleurs. Il s'agit d'un des plus beaux endroits pour voir les admirer.
