Ho Chi Minh (House, Mausoleum, Museum), Hanoi - Vietnam 4K Travel Channel
Ho Chí Minh was born as son of a teacher in poor conditions on May 19, 1890. But already in his early youth, he developed an aversion to the French colonialists. A peasant demonstration in Hue, where he acted as interpreter, ended in the hail of bullets of French soldiers. As rebel he was expelled from school and went to Saigon, where he signed up on a ship to get to know France. During the next years he also went to New York, Boston and London, before he returned to France again. There he joined the Socialist Party of France. He and his comrades-in-arms published a petition in 1918 that demanded more rights for the colonies in Indochina. In 1920 Ho Chi Minh was among the founding members of the French Communist Party. After a stay in Moscow, where he studied at the Communist University, he went to China. At the Whampoa Military Academy in Guangzhou he gave lectures on politics. Later, he was a leading coauthor of a guide for communist insurgencies. Afterwards, he was sentenced to death in absentia by the French colonial authorities.
In 1941, he traveled back to Vietnam and founded the Viet Minh, the League for the Independence of Vietnam. They fought against the Japanese and French occupying powers. Supported by the national Chinese, Ho Chi Minh exclaimed the democratic republic of Vietnam in Hanoi on September 2nd, 1945 after the Viet Minh had taken the cities of Hanoi, Hue and Saigon.
With the bombardment of Haiphong by French troops where 6,000 civilians have become victims, the Indochina war began in 1954 and ended with the departure of the French. The Geneva Geneva Conference brought a cease-fire, which provided a division of Vietnam at the 17th parallel. After two years, a government for the entire Vietnam should be elected.
But the US never felt tied to the agreement and thwarted the election because they feared that whole Southeast Asia could become Communist. Ho Chi Minh was always the driving force for the unification of Vietnam. When the United States intervened actively in 1965 in the fighting, which led to the Vietnam War, Ho Chi Minh planned the Ho Chi Minh trail through Laos. This traffic system, also known as Truong Son road ensured the military supplies of the South to the North. Ho Chi Minh died in 1969 and has not experienced the independence of a united Vietnam.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum-Hanoi, Vietnam (With Tour Guide History Lesson)
It was eerie to see the dead body of Ho Chi Minh lying in state after 45 years. There wasn't much light inside and there were guards everywhere so any chance of sneaking some video of the body went out the window. My guide eloquently explains the life and death of Ho Chi Minh, former Prime Minister and President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam).

Cu Chi Tunnels Tour-Vietnam
During the Cu Chi Tunnels tour, we walked through a tunnel (which has been widened for tourists), saw some of the bunkers and booby traps, and walked by a shooting range where you can fire guns for a small price. Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels helped me understand why the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong won the Vietnam War. They dug 70 mile long tunnels by hand and hid there during the day despite horrendous conditions. You have to have a certain amount of fortitude to do that.

SAIGON WAR REMNANTS MUSEUM HO CHI MINH CITY VIETNAM HISTORY
VV 2004 TRIP The emotional highlight of a stay in Ho Chi Minh was a visit to its War Museum. I went to this incredible war museum which I really want to mention because I want to promote them. It's a phenomenal museum. The war museum in Ho Chi Minh City used to be a Buddhist pagoda destroyed by the French soldiers when the American War or the Vietnamese War was the French War following the World War. There was a variety of the weaponry displayed in the museum and used against the Vietnamese people during the war. On display was a guillotine left over from the French War which had actually been used in the sixties by the Americans on suspected Viet Cong. In addition there was napalm, huge tanks, artillery guns, anti-artillery guns and anti-personnel weapons (such as bombs that resemble oranges or pineapples.) There were land shaking bombs which, while never exploding would be dropped from the sky and float to the earth using an umbrella like device. After landing they would shake the ground for a radius of 3km, knocking down village huts and even making people ill with nausea.

In Hanoi, you can find some amazing sites. But one of the most interesting is seeing the preserved body of Ho Chi Minh. His body is held in a building that is a copy of Lenin's in Russia. Which down the street, you can visit a park that is in honor of Lenin!

Ho Chi Minh (1890 – 1969). A person with a simple lifestyle; a person of integrity; a teacher; a leader; a nationalist; a communist; a dictator; a father for it's people; a hero; a villain. This Vietnamese ruler had many faces. Who was he really?

I vlog to inspire others, to experience the journey and to live life. Not only that i challenge myself daily to adapt to all situations while on the road, adapting to city to city hopping, accom to accom living, street food tasting in each city, bartering with locals, dealing with scamsters and corrupt authorities, whatever!, the goal is to adapt without fear.
I've also learn't that material things do not satisfy my consciousness as much as experiences do. If there's one important
thing I've learnt on the road traveling it's to experience as much as you can without fear, for those experiences will last a lifetime with you, and if you've helped inspire someone along the way it will last into their lifetime to even if it's from a youtube vlog!.
