Hoam Art Museum by Everland - 호암 미술관
In this episode we take you to the Hoam Art Museum located right next to the Everland amusement park!
This Museum and garden is beautiful in any season. So going anytime of the year, this area will not disappoint you.
All over the grounds you will find stone figures. They are called Buksu and are considered guardians of the village.
The main gate to the grounds is called Bohwhamun. Bo means to take in a preserve what is valuable and Wha means flowers and signifies the art of mankind. The name emphasizes the mission of the museum to collect and keep works of art safe.
This is the museum itself. It was built in 1982 and it’s main function is to encourage Korean people to engage in creative culture. There are many displays of Korean art and history inside.
This gate is called the Moon gate and has images in it’s korean traditional bricks of fortune and flower patterns. It is located on the east side of the grounds so it also represents spring time.
There are many peacocks that freely roam around the gardens. My son definitely got a kick out of seen them!
This is the Hoam Pavilion and is located in a spot for you to enjoy the whole panorama of the main garden.
This field is located right in front of the museum and is often used for art exhibitions and concerts.

Closed on Mondays, Jan 1st, Korean New Year holidays, and Chuseok.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 1000-1800

Adults: 4,000W
Children over 3 years old: 3,000W
Children under 3 years old: Free
Last ticket issued at 1700
Parking is free
There is a discount for admission to the museum if you first buy tickets to Everland. It still will not be free though.

By Free Shuttle Bus
The Museum operates an hourly shuttle bus between Everland and the Museum. The bus departs every hour on the hour from 9:00 to 17:00 from Everland. The returning bus departs in front of the ticket office of the Museum a quarter after every hour.

호암미술관 Ho-Am Art Museum Walk ????????
Ho-Am Art Museum(호암미술관) Opened in April 22, 1982 and was founded by Lee
Byung-Chull, the founder of Samsung whose pseudonym was Hoam, as the
home of the Korean traditional art works.
Ho-Am Art Museum has pursued an aim to offer visitors a cultural space where
they could experience the beauty of Korean traditional art.
With the opening of Korean traditional garden, Hee Won, in 1997,
the museum lets visitors to enjoy Korean aesthetics through not only
artworks but traditional Korean landscaping as well. It is hoped that visitors
can relax in this tranquil environment of the Museum grounds fostered by Korean
traditional art works and landscapingand located not far from the downtown while being immersed
in Korean aesthetics and values that transcends time and space.

승려 수암이 1945년 용인시 처인구 원삼면 맹리에 창건한 대한불교 조계종 용주사의 말사이다. 수정암은 현재 원삼면 맹리 마을에서 수정산으로 오르는 입구에 위치하였으나, 본래 옛 터가 산정상에 위치한 점에서 조선시대 암자 정도의 규모로 조성되었던 것으로 보인다.

Everland Resort entertains visitors all year long with various rides, festivals, theme areas, and Zootopia, perfect for a great amusement park. It houses diverse attractions which are available to enjoy with no age limits, different themed festivals including Tulip Festival, Rose Festival, Summer Splash, Halloween Festival, Romantic Illumination, and other festivals all year long. One of the park’s most famous rides is T-Express, Korea’s first wooden roller coaster, popular among young visitors. Zootopia is a must-see as it spans over an area of 15,000㎡ and exhibits 2,000 animals of 201 species. Lost Valley opened in 2013 and features the largest ecological safari world and offers a tour by amphibious car to see 150 animals of 20 species. A pair of giant pandas given from Chinese president Xi Jinping as a symbol of friendship between Korea and China can also be seen at Panda World.
