Walking Tour Hollywood Bowl | 4k Mobile 2 | Ambient Music
The Hollywood Bowl a great to park that is open to the public during the day depending on whats going on that day. Take a walking tour at the hollywood bowl during the day when you can. Its very quiet and a great way to exercise. The Hollywood Bowl seating is amazing even if you sit in the back. The Hollywood bowl is home to Mamma Mia, Beauty and The Beast, and many other great performances.
The Hollywood Bowl is an amphitheater in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
The Hollywood Bowl is known for its band shell, a distinctive set of concentric arches that graced the site from 1929 through 2003, before being replaced with a larger one beginning in the 2004 season. The shell is set against the backdrop of the Hollywood Hills and the famous Hollywood Sign to the northeast.
The bowl refers to the shape of the concave hillside the amphitheater is carved into. The bowl is owned by the County of Los Angeles and is the home of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the host of hundreds of musical events each year.
It is located at 2301 North Highland Avenue, west of the (former) The French Village, north of Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood/Highland subway station and south of Route 101.

Driving Downtown Streets - Beverly Boulevard - Los Angeles California USA - Episode 93.
Starting Point: Beverly Boulevard .
The initials of the tabloid news website TMZ.com and Time Warner stand for Thirty Mile Zone, an alternative name for the Studio Zone. In the American entertainment industry, the studio zone, also known as the thirty-mile zone (TMZ) is the area marked roughly around a 30-mile (48 km) radius from the intersection of West Beverly Boulevard and North La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.
Entertainment industry unions currently use this area to determine rates and work rules for union workers. The zone also largely determined the location and success of the original movie ranches in or near Hollywood. At one time, it was the location of the headquarters of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), the negotiating body for most studio management.
Beverly Boulevard is one of Los Angeles's first boulevards paved in the 1910's. The Boulevard's most famous stretch is in West Hollywood, where it passes Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the Beverly Center Mall.
The intersection of Beverly and La Cienega is the center of the studio zone (also known as the thirty-mile zone), the area that Los Angeles-based entertainment industry unions consider as local for purposes of work rules. The famous CBS Television City is located on the corner of Beverly and Fairfax, opposite The Grove.

The Hollywood Bowl is Also an Awesome Park Open to the Public During the Day
We Like L.A. helps you find the best things to do in Los Angeles!
If you enjoyed our visit to the Hollywood Bowl and you're looking for other cool spots in Los Angeles, check out our visits to the Downtown L.A. Art Walk: or the Baldwin Park Scenic Overlook:
* * * *
About this video:
One of things we never thought about is that the Hollywood Bowl is actually owned by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. (In the video we mention in the video the county operates the park, but to be accurate, the Bowl is operated by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Apologies for any confusion).
Although the site of the Bowl had already hosted several outdoor productions and concerts by the early 1920s, including the first-ever bowl performance by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, it was in 1924 when the property was officially deeded over to L.A. County. This transfer set the stage for the Hollywood Bowl to be preserved and improved upon for future generations.
Over the years these improvements and renovations have seen everything from new seating to different iterations of the iconic shell about the main stage. One fascinating tidbit I learned in researching the venue before we arrived was at one point there was actually a pyramid shaped shell designed by Lloyd Wright (sone of Frank Lloyd Wright), but that only lasted for about one year.
One thing that's remained constant over the years has been the commitment of the venue to preserve the native habitat. There are dozens of animals and plants that reside at or near the Bowl grounds, and efforts to maintain the habitat lead to the Hollywood Bowl being the first amphitheater in California to be certified as an Audubon Society Cooperative Sanctuary.
If you're looking for a game-plan on where to go during your visit, one preferred method for exploring the grounds is through what's called a Bowl Walk, which offers a playbook on points of interest every visitor should see, including, the Muse of Music, the Cahuenga Pass Treasure, and of course the shell of the amphitheater.
In addition to the walk, you'll definitely want to check out the Hollywood Bowl Museum, located at the site of the Old Tea Room, near the bottom of the hill off Pepper Tree Lane. Here you'll find a collection of old photographs, posters, and exhibits depicting the timeline of the Hollywood Bowl. You can also head up to the second floor where the museum hosts temporary, featured exhibitions. Most recently on exhibit is Attention Pilots | Hollywood Bowl and the Skies Above the history of how the Bowl has tried to fend off airplane noise from interfering with their performance schedule.
Speaking of concerts, during the summer you can even catch open rehearsals by the LA Phil as they prep for evening performances. This is probably one of the most unique aspects of a day-visit to the bowl, as if you time it just right you could hang out with a little picnic and hear some world class musicians tuning up for a gig. Just be sure to call Audience Services (323-850-2000) ahead of time if you want to find out about the upcoming rehearsal schedule.
If you're planning a visit keep in mind there is free parking in Lots A and B during the day, but you might want to call ahead to avoid any event or construction-related park closures. The Hollywood Bowl is open daily at around 8 a..m. and is usually closed by sunset (or sometimes earlier if there is an event).
Museum hours vary seasonally but breakdown as follows:
Summer Hours:
June 20 – September 27
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday – Saturday:
10 a.m. – show time
Sunday: 4 p.m. – show time
Off-Season Hours:
September 28 through June 19
Sunday - Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday – Friday:
10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 30+ groups by appointment only

Remembering THE BEATLES At The Hollywood Bowl Exhibit -- Remember Your First Concert?
Today, my travels take me to the famous and historic Hollywood Bowl landmark in Hollywood, California to visit the free Hollywood Bowl Museum and The Beatles exhibit.
This is also where I saw and heard my first concert in 1969 (Janis Joplin)! Do you remember your first concert?
I also visit The Beatles' stars on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, in front of the Capitol Records building, near the corner of the famous Hollywood and Vine streets.
Some of the other musicians and groups who have played at the Hollywood Bowl include: The Carpenters, John Denver, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Lena Horne, Whitney Houston, The Jackson 5, Elton John, Janis Joplin, Barry Manilow, Prince, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many others.
Thanks for joining me on another nostalgic road trip down memory lane.

Los Angeles California: A Love & Hate Relationship
There is a serious love and hate relationship with Los Angeles, California with me. I love all the arts and entertainment: museums, live entertainment at the Staples Arena, Hollywood Bowl, Getty Villa, etc, but there are some negatives.
The Los Angeles freeway traffic, parking and expensive parking really suck in the City of Angeles. Seriously.
Some days I would spend $40 a day on just parking at various places. It's not fun. Nor is the congestion.
But there are lots of great things to see here in Los Angeles, so I keep coming back!
What are YOUR thoughts on Los Angeles?
