Honda Bay is a bay on the eastern shore of the island of Palawan near Puerto Princesa City in the southwestern Philippines. We had a day tour of Honda Bay and it was amazing!! I recommend this tour if you are visiting Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Starfish Island
Just as the name suggests, Starfish Island is filled with starfishes of all sizes. You won't have much trouble spotting them as the waters are crystal clear.

Lu-li Island
Be sure to dip your head into the waters and spot the school of fishes.

Cowrie Island
Bask under the sun with a cocktail on a sun bed.

NOVEMBER 16-17, 2014—We finally did it! For a number of years now we had been repeatedly planning to visit the infamous Dos Palmas Island resort in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. But it keeps on getting shelved due to various reasons.

This time around we made it sure that it happened. It was the second to the last stop in our week 4-day Puerto Princesa, Palawan family tour that started at Sabang to visit the famous underground river.

It is really a pity that Dos Palmas got an ugly blot on its previously sterling reputation as a luxury island resort destination, no thanks to that really infamous kidnapping incident by the notorious ASG way back in 2001. The resort had a tough time recovering from that sorry incident that effectively scared away potential guests.

Dos Palmas is now a very safe destination, as it was during our visit in 2014, and even several years before that all the way to right after the kidnapping incident. In fact, I suspect that Dos Palmas has never been safer than right after the incident. Since the incident, the resort and the whole Honda Bay has been heavily albeit discreetly guarded and patrolled both by military and private security personnel.

And that's a good thing because Dos Palmas is such a beautiful Island. We loved everything about it. We loved our villa (although the kids we're not too happy that there was neither Internet nor television), their swimming pool, their bikes and biking trails, their snorkeling sites...

Oh, about snorkeling... our snorkeling adventure in Dos Palmas has been our best snorkeling experience, to date.
