Four Mass Transit Rail (MTR) stations in Hong Kong were shut over on September 8, 2019, after ticketing machines were damaged and walls spray-painted during anti-government protests.
Police made several arrests, reportedly including suspects connected the vandalism.
The attacks on the stations followed a peaceful march to the US consulate to urge Washington to support Hong Kong’s democratic development and human rights.

Unprecedented scenes of violence played out in Hong Kong’s MTR network on the night of Saturday, August 31, as police stormed into Prince Edward station and beat protesters on a train.
Protesters and their supporters accused police of beating commuters indiscriminately, but police said they were going after radicals who had changed their clothes and were pretending to be passengers.
Members of the police Special Tactical Squad, known as the Raptors, entered the station after the MTR reported that protesters were vandalising the premises and fighting with passengers.
Sixty three people were arrested following violence in Prince Edward and Mong Kok stations, which remained closed on Sunday.

Attackers beat people on Hong Kong subway
▶️ A large group of assailants armed with metal rods and wooden poles, beat Hong Kong protesters and others inside a commuter rail station late Sunday, July 21.
???? The official People's Daily newspaper, in a front-page commentary headlined Central Authority Cannot be Challenged,'' called the protesters' actions “intolerable.”
One group of protesters targeted China's liaison office on Sunday night after more than 100,000 people marched through the city to demand democracy and an investigation into the use of force by police to disperse crowds at earlier protests.
Police launched tear gas to disperse the protesters. Later, protesters trying to return home were attacked inside a train station by assailants who appeared to target the pro-democracy demonstrators.
