Pinellas Adventures...
The Founder:
Armando Gort, founder of HorsePower for Kids, was born in Havana, Cuba. He came to the United States in 1970.
As a small child in Cuba, Armando dreamed of coming to the United States and owning his own horse farm, where children could experience their love of animals in a real farm setting. Armando's dream came true in 1994. Since then, Armando has welcomed children to his farm from all over Hillsborough and Pinellas County, as well as children from all over the world.
Armando started riding at the age of five. Since then he has achieved expertise in Dressage, Western, Hunter, and Jumpers. Armando's philosophy is: Dreams do come true. Along with hard work and perseverance, anything can be accomplished. This is what children learn when they visit the farm.
I believe I was born with a fascination for animals. As a toddler, I would not go to sleep without my pet goat. As a child, while other kids were at the playground, I would be with my mom building cages and feeding all my animals. At the age of 5, I got my first pony and my love of horses began. There's never been a time in my life when I did not have horses or other animals. As I've gotten older and I look back, I realize that it's the time with my animals and my family that I cherish the most. Long forgotten are my trips to attractions and far away places. The time I spent with animals are my most cherished moments. I invite you to come to the farm and make your own memories to last a lifetime. Many children in the Tampa Bay area never get the chance to experience horses because of financial difficulties. My goal is to change that for as many children as possible.

Places to see in ( St Petersburg - USA )
St. Petersburg is a city on Florida's gulf coast, part of the Tampa Bay area. It's known for its pleasant weather (hence its “Sunshine City” nickname), making it popular for golfing, boating, fishing and beachgoing. Its waterfront parks host the Dali Museum, featuring surrealist works of art; the Museum of Fine Arts, with works ranging from ancient to contemporary; and Mahaffey Theater, home of the Florida Orchestra.
Saint Petersburg is located at the base of the Tampa Bay peninsula in Pinellas County, Florida, and enjoys a more subdued social atmosphere than its larger cousin, Tampa. The city has tried to characterize the downtown as an arts and entertainments destination and you will find no shortage of arts and crafts stores, galleries, and museums along with cafes and boutique food shops all within a couple blocks of the Tampa Bay waterfront. With water on three sides of the city, St. Pete is a superb location for fishing, sailing, and wandering beaches.
Saint Petersburg was founded by John C. Williams from Detroit, Michigan, who purchased the land in 1876. The town began with the help of Peter Demens, who was instrumental in bringing a railroad connection there in 1888. Saint Petersburg was named after the Saint Petersburg in Russia, the birthplace of Peter Demens. A local legend says that John C. Williams and Peter Demens flipped a coin to see who would have the honor of naming the city. Peter Demens won and named the city after his birthplace, while John C. Williams named the first hotel after his birthplace, Detroit. The Detroit Hotel still exists downtown, but it was converted into condos in 2002.
The city publishes the free Downtown St.Petersburg Guide & Map booklet, updated each season, that contains maps, trolley routes, and listings for hundreds of museums, events, restaurants, & hotels along with coupons. You can find the guide in dispensers throughout downtown and in many businesses.
Long known as little more than a bawdy spring-break party town and a retirement capital, St Petersburg is now forging a new name for itself as a culturally savvy southern city. Spurred on by awe-inspiring downtown murals, a revitalized historic district and the stunning Dalí Museum, the downtown energy is creeping up Central Ave, spawning sophisticated restaurants, craft breweries, farmers markets and artsy galleries, all of which are attracting a younger professional crowd and a new wave of culturally curious travelers.

Ultimate Cat Lady: Woman Shares Her Home With 1,100 Felines
SUBSCRIBE to the Barcroft network:
A caring cat lady has given up her 4,200 square foot home to more than a thousand felines. Sixty-seven-year-old Lynea Lattanzio now lives in a trailer on her six acre property and allows the cats to run freely through the five bedroom house. Today she runs Cat House On The Kings which is California’s largest no-cage, no kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats. Lynea and her team of volunteers care for about 800 adult cats and 300 kittens. The team starts feedings at the shelter at 4am and they also give medical attention to critically ill cats. Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
