Southwest Stories with Steve Brown - Dig Your Own: Morongo Valley, California
There's always more to do up 62 - California State Route 62, that is. Steve and the crew head up Route 62 from the Banning Pass, to Morongo Valley, a small but fascinating community at the fringes of the Mojave Desert (and the home of the new Sand to Snow National Monument).
We'll dig through Morongo's history, and dig our own cactus at Cactus Mart. We'll visit a spiritual spot many locals don't even know about, hang out with artist, lip sync master, and pirate, Snake Jagger, and we'll wrap up our trip with a great barbecue dinner at Willie Boy's where Steve will sit in with the popular band, the California Celts, and try his hand at bull riding in pirate regalia.
We hope you enjoy the ride!
This episode aired 2015-2016 on KVCR PBS TV.
