World Famous (Hua Hin Railway Station) Thailand.
Geoff Carter shows you around Hua Hin Railway Station which is World Famous.
Hua Hin's popularity began to increase in the 1920's as the railway line from Bangkok was constructed and King Rama VI built Klai Kangwon Palace as a summer retreat.
Hua Hin's station is one of the oldest in Thailand and its main feature is The Royal Waiting Room that used to welcome King and his court when they were visiting the town.
Originally, it was situated at Sanamchan Palace in Nakom Pathom and was known as Plub Pla Sanamchan. Eventually, the room was tranported to Hua Hin.
It is designed in the same style as Maruekkhathayawan Palace and is an attraction not to be missed if you are staying in Hua Hin.
The train station is located at the top (west end) of Damnoern Kasem Road.

Hua Hin, Sleeper train and a visit to Cicada Market
We don't have much travel time as my wife works full time. We took a sleeper train to Hua Hin, visit Cicada and enjoy some food. I love the sleeper trains. They aren't luxury but it is such a relaxing way to travel.
This was a very short weekend trip, and although we went to Cicada we didn't do the tourist thing. It was more for the pleasure of getting out of the city. We hope to buy a car in a month or so and will have the time and means to do more trips.
There will be a second part of this video to follow shortly.

Catching the train from Bangkok to Hua Hin Thailand
Train ride from Bangkok to Hua Hin Thailand. Hua Hin is located 198.7Kms south of Bangkok.
The train leaves from Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Train Station.
A ticket on the Ordinary train will cost 44 Baht and will take 4 hours 15 minutes.
There are Special Express trains which leave 4 times a day and takes 3 hours 21 minutes.

BANGKOK TO HUA HIN BY RAILWAY THAILAND. GREAT EXPERIENCE
Railway journey that took for ever ! From Bangkok to Hua Hin. What ever time they say, add another hour. this train never went faster than 40 miles an hour . Slowly through Bangkok, the trains stops at many Bangkok railways stations before head out into the Thailand countryside. Eventually after many many hours we arrived in a very dark Hua Hin Railway Station.
But i would say it was a great experience, and I would do it again.
there was pleanty of food and drink on offer during the journey, and it was all reasonably priced too. All in all, its an experience of Thailand.

Hua Hin is the oldest beach resort of the country and has been the Thai royal family's summer residence since the 1920s. It is about 125 miles south of Bangkok. Hua Hin today offers modern luxury accommodation while preserving much of its traditional character as a classic beach destination, including one of the country’s first and finest 18-hole golf courses.
Its 3 miles of clean white sand and crystal clear water has continued to provide peace and serenity Hua Hin is renowned for. While offering a tranquil atmosphere, Hua Hin beach is also the place for fun-filled activities ranging from jogging, walking, sun bathing, horse riding, kite boarding, and other kinds of water sports.
Visit the hilltop of Khao Takiap to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Hua Hin, which is one delightful view either during the day or night. For nature lovers, visit Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, which contains a wide range of shoreline habitats: limestone hills, marshes, mangroves, coves and caves. Also do not miss Hua Hin Railway Station, one of Thailand’s oldest and most beautiful railway stations and the Night Market, the most colourful spot offering a wide array of food, drinks, desserts, and souvenirs.
To learn of love and hope, visit Mrigadayavan Palace in the nearby beach of Cha am. This summer seaside palace, often called the palace of love and hope, was built in 1923 by King Rama VI. The building lies between Cha-am and Hua Hin and consists of a two-storey wooden pavilion, a series of linked halls and a long wooden corridor leading down to the sea. Cha-am is also popular for its straight sea pine-lined beach and superb seafood.
Klai Kangwon Palace is still an official royal residence and is open to the public on a daily basis.

Took Special Express Train 43 from Bangkok to Hua Hin on 5/19/2017, about 3 hrs and 30 mins. 2nd class ticket priced 412 baht/p includes snack and a meal. Air-conditioned train is kept clean so we should keep it clean too! :)
