Hula Valley Wetlands (Israel)
Take a video tour of Hula Valley, Israel, which highlights Lake Agmon, a restored wetland that was once part of an 85 km2 wetland network. Human activity in the valley now includes ecotourism based around the wetland, as well as major agricultural development. It is also an important migratory bird fly-way. Hula Lake Visitors Center to Transform the Upper Galilee
The Stephen J. Harper Hula Valley Bird Sanctuary Visitor and Education Center, which is being built with the support of Friends of JNF Canada, will use cutting edge technology to engage visitors in bird migration and local ecology.

Hula Lake - Agriculture Festival
Hundreds of thousands of visitors packed KKL-JNF sites all over Israel during the Sukkot holiday, including the many thousands who attended the Hula Lake Festival celebrating agriculture and community development in the Galilee and the Golan. Running from 29/9 to 1/10, the festival took place in parallel to, and in the spirit of, the international Milan Expo whose theme is “Feeding the World – Energy for Life.”

North Israel - Yehudiya forest nature reserve בריכת משושים
The Yehudiya Forest Nature Reserve in the central Golan Heights, is shaped like a hand, the “wrist” of which is in the Bethsaida Valley and each of whose “fingers” is a flowing stream. The land slopes moderately westward from 400 to 100 m above sea level.
The Yehudiya Forest itself covers some 30% dunams of the reserve. Its most common tree is the large Mt. Tabor oak, which sheds its leaves in winter. These trees grow at some distance from each other, interspersed with herbaceous species, Christ-thorn and terebinth trees, creating a forest-park landscape.
Among the animals in the reserve are gazelles, wild boars, jackals, conies, Indian-crested porcupines and the Cairo spiny mouse. The skies reveal raptors such as kestrels, short-toed eagles, Bonelli’s eagles, Egyptian vultures, buzzards, Griffon vultures and a large variety of song birds.

It was a gorgeous sunny day on Wednesday, and after doing some shopping in Tiberias, Chana and I decided to take an impromptu trip to the Agaman Hula Nature Reserve.
Located north of Tiberias and Lake Kinneret in the Hula Valley, less than an hour from Yavne'el and Villa Rimona, this is one of the worlds foremost bird-watching sites. Situated on the Syrian-Afro migratory path over 500 million birds visit a year!
You can rent golf carts and bicycles to travel around the 9 kilometers of paved trail and watch the birds and other wildlife according to season.
