Sequoia National Park (King's Canyon & Hume Lake)
We heard so many good things about Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park. Took a drive up to get away from the city and beach life, and to also spend some quality time together while exploring.
We came across wild life and the beauty of nature itself. Glad to say we made it out alive and stronger as a couple. Hope we inspire those seeking adventure and growth.

Kings Canyon National Park Hikes | General Grant | Giant Sequoia Trees | Hume Lake | Sierra Nevada
Kings Canyon was our 27th National Park on our journey. Because it was still spring, the road leading to the actual canyon was closed, so we missed about 3/4 of the park. Nestled into the Sierra Nevada Mountains Kings Canyon boasts a large sequoia grove, where we saw General Grant, the 3rd largest tree in the world, and took a hike around Hume Lake. It's a beautiful park and we highly recommend visiting!

Lake is at 5200 ft elevation. Recorded May 18-19, 2019.
This video is mostly for people who already plan to go here and wanted to see what it looks like... I recommend all viewers take a look at Kings Canyon on the map to see how oddly the Park shaped. rec.gov has reservations and most info you will need... I'm a little short on info but can try and answer any questions in the comments. One item of note is there are OHV/ATV accessible roads nearby. Check a map to see location. CARRY CHAINS Oct to May. 180 is plowed. I am not sure if the 3 mile side road to Hume Lake is plowed. 180 is a good bit higher up than the Hume Lake road so it does not snow as much anyway. We did not use the 10 mile road. It looks narrow and windy. EASY access to Kings Canyon and Grant Grove. A 40 min drive to Sequoia, but if you are in the area, you'll probably be making that drive anyway. Keep in mind General's Highway is Not plowed and closes during storms. If you have info regarding the first come first serve vs reservation site status during summer, please comment and i will edit this, or hopefully I'll find out myself later on.. We definitely plan to return, a very nice campground!

2012 Hume Lake, King Canyon National Park, California
Hume Lake is in the Kings River Watershed and made by Hume-Bennett Lumber Company jn 1909. From building the dam in less than 4 months for only $46,000.
It is the world's first concrete reinforced multiple arch dam, designed by John S. Eastwood.
The dam is a hidden secret site where few peoples know.
It is near Sandy cove area, not far from the west entrance to Kings Canyon National Park..
