Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

Companies usually have two distinct approaches to Financial services type of business. One approach would be a bank which simply buys an insurance company or an investment bank, keeps the original brands of the acquired firm, and adds the acquisition to its holding company simply to diversify its earnings. Outside the U.S. (e.g., in Japan), non-financial services companies are permitted within the holding company. In this scenario, each company still looks independent, and has its own customers, etc. In the other style, a bank would simply create its own brokerage division or insurance division and attempt to sell those products to its own existing customers, with incentives for combining all things with one company. Installment credit is used for a specific purpose, for a defined amount and for a specific period. Payments are usually the same amount each month. Examples of purchases made on installment credit include large appliances, automobiles and furniture. These kinds of loans usually offer lower interest rates than revolving credit. For example, a car company holds a lien on the car until the car loan is repaid. The total amount of the principal and interest is repaid within a predefined period. If the customer defaults on the loan payments, the company can repossess the car and charge penalties. Better Qualified has developed a proven credit management program that will help you manage your credit and save money. Huntsville World War II Marine veteran Alice H. Bennett enjoyed her trip on the Honor Flight Tennessee Valley trip to Washington, D.C., Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007.
She was impressed with her guardian.
Marine Alice Bennett - Once a Marine, always a Marine, so don't call me a former Marine - said her guardian was her new mother.
I've never had anyone baby me like that since I was 3, Bennett said. She held my hand and wouldn't let me carry anything and was just so sweet to me. We just really clicked.

Alabama Confederate flag supporters rally for secession
If support for the secession of Alabama from the United States can be measured in rally attendance, it's safe to assume Alabama won't be seceding any time soon. More than 300 people were expected but attendance peaked at 30 people.

Houstons international airport has many Federal Agencies around it.The FAA is just one of many. Being as we were close by-we thought we d do a quick stop at the main FAA bldg and grab some quick shots of the place. Weather was milder than it had been but temps were still close to 100 degrees. So,we figured to make it a quick stop..which is just as well because we were recognized (as part of PINAC).

Bridging Two Eras: The Opening of the New
The end of an era leads to a new beginning in Marion County. It happens Friday, (Nov. 7).
The opening for the new Marion County Memorial Bridge on Hwy. 41 across the Tennessee River will reunite the community of Haletown, with the rest of Marion County. It reopens a major Southeast Tennessee secondary route, Cummings Highway-U.S. Highways 41 and 72. The bridge closing two years ago forced traffic to be detoured to the Silliman Evans-Interstate 24 bridge, just downstream.
The 85-year-old narrow, 2-lane Hwy. 41 bridge, locally known as the green bridge was officially named the Marion County Memorial Bridge, and was dedicated years ago to the memory of the county's war veterans.
It was built by the Tennessee Highway Department in 1929 as a toll bridge carrying the newly-designated U.S. Highway 41 across the Tennessee River. It was later dedicated to the memory of the county's war veterans. Despite claims, the road and the bridge were not part of the historic north-south Dixie Highway (that actually traversed further north along Suck Creek Mountain), but was instead part of the Lee Highway extension west of Chattanooga on U.S. 72, that eventually went west to Memphis via Huntsville, AL.
According to the website Bridgehunter.com, the bridge was rehabilitated in 1966, but when TVA impounded Nickajack Lake downriver in December, 1967, the trusses over the river channel had to be raised by hydralic lift a total of 21 feet, to allow for barge traffic tp safely pass underneath on the lake's new elevated level. The design of the old bridge's two large spans resembles what's known as K-Parkers, but these two spans are actually called K-hybrids. Bridge historians have said the Marion County Memorial Bridge is perhaps the last bridge of its design in Tennessee.
It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
The bridge was closed permanently on January 9, 2012.
Right now, the fate of the Marion County Memorial Bridge is resting in the hands of a demolition company. Jennifer Flynn with T-DOT says the original demolition called for the spans to be dropped into the water by dynamite charges, but those plans may be changed to simply dismantling the steel.
Opening for the new bridge is actually a year behind schedule. Flynn says issues with the depth of the new piers underwater forced delays.
The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 11 AM EST (10 AM CST), November 7, 2014 on the Haletown (Chattanooga) side of the bridge, with T-DOT Commissioner John Schroer and local dignitaries in attendance.
Demolition of the old bridge won't be happening immediately, says Flynn. She says a developer from Boston may be interested in purchasing one of the spans, and moving it to a park in Beantown.
