Moab, Utah is one of the premier off-road and four-wheel drive destinations. Comprised of some of the most well-known trails in all of the United States it has trail types that suit all drivers wheeling desires. Some would call it an off-roader's paradise. Amongst these trails, Hurrah Pass is one of the more popular easy trails in the entire area. It overlooks the Colorado river and Potash Evaporation ponds. Many people couple this trail with Chicken Corners and the Catacomb Spur Trail.

Hurrah Pass & Chicken Corners Complete UTV Trail Ride - Moab, Utah
A complete ride on Hurrah Pass and Chicken Corners trails in a 2019 Polaris RZR XP 1000 4-Seat UTV. This ride was done in late June, 2019. This was our first time driving these trails and overall I'd rate them as easy in a UTV. I wouldn't have any problems taking my stock Jeep with all-season tires on Hurrah Pass, but personally I wouldn't try Chicken Corners in my Jeep.

Pucker Pass and Long Canyon
Pucker Pass on the Long Canyon Road. Often used as a short cut between Dead Horse Point SP and Moab coming out at the Jug Handle on the Potash Road. Somewhat rough, not for low riding sports cars. If you have a regular pick up, 2WD or better this is a beautiful and not very long trip outside of Moab. One person described this road as very dangerous (they were driving a Dodge Magnum R/T). If you take your time to enjoy the beauty you will be safe a rewarded by the Beautiful Scenery. I drove it both ways in my 97 Jeep TJ Wrangler in May, 2014.

One of the most beautiful scenic drives I've ever done, the drive into Moab, Utah along the Colorado River on Scenic Byway 128 has breathtaking views of signature Utah red rock as well as the gorgeous snow capped La Sal Mountains in the distance.

Rock formations, fun side trails, and an inspiring overlook at the Green River make this off-highway route one to put on your to-do list. It will take you past formidable rock formations such as Tombstone Rock, Dellenbaugh Tunnel, and Secret Spire. This route is better known to off-road enthusiasts for connecting to the more challenging and remote Dellenbaugh Tunnel and Secret Spire trails, however, its namesake comes from ending at a point towering over the Green River.

MOAB UTAH OFF ROAD - Long Canyon Trail and Pucker Pass at Sunset
On this episode of Chicken River Offroad, we drive Long Canyon and Pucker Pass at sunset. This trail is a great way to go from Potash Road to Canyonlands Island in the Sky District or to Dead Horse Point State Park in Moab, Utah.
Some of my favorite free campgrounds in the Moab area are at the top of this trail.
