Visiting Denali National Park and Preserve, National park in Alaska, United States
Denali /dɨˈnaːli/ (also known as Mount McKinley, its former official name)[6] is the highest mountain peak in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet (6,190.5 m) above sea level. At some 18,000 ft (5,500 m), the base-to-peak rise is the largest of any mountain situated entirely above sea level.[7] With a topographic prominence of 20,156 feet (6,144 m) and a topographic isolation of 4,629 miles (7,450 km), Denali is the third most prominent and third most isolated peak after Mount Everest and Aconcagua. Located in the Alaska Range in the interior of the U.S. state of Alaska, Denali is the centerpiece of Denali National Park and Preserve. For more info, visit this link:

Mushing up Otter Pass, Denali National Park, Alaska
Dog teams ascending Otter Pass from the north in Denali National Park, Alaska. Otter Pass is a shortcut when mushing from the Moose Creek trail near Kantishna to Wonder Lake. The pass offers a dramatic view of Denali and the Alaska Range, before the descent down to the lake. Video was on a dog trip in late March with Denali Dog Sled Expeditions. Hike up to the rocks at the pass summit in the summer to see the dramatic amount of sled plastic peeled off the runners when heavy sleds pass over them!
Mount McKinley (Denali) from Talkeetna Alaska
Clear day in April 2015 driving to Talkeetna. Mountain is about 2 hours away and can be seen from this far. Only full mountain can be seen on clear days because so high. Usually reaches through the clouds. On a good day can be seen from anchorage which is 4 hours away.

Vlog #22: Denali National Park and Preserve.
Left Fairbanks and made it to Denali National Park and Preserve. Spent a couple of days riding the park's buses to see everything we can. Got to camp right next to a river and met a family that became great friends of ours.
Camp Denali, Alaska - Exploring Denali National Park (SEG 2 of 3).mov
This is dedicated to the Camp Denali / North Face Lodge staff. The video is a compilation of the resort's guided outings which explore Denali National Park.
My wife Jen & I stayed four days at the (non-electric) Camp Denali. Next to our marriage on PSV (Petite St. Vincent, Grenadines) twelve years ago, our stay here is our most cherished.
The only thing we would do different is pay the airlines excess baggage fees and bring, buy or rent the best wide angle and strongest zoom camera/video gear possible!!!
(since the cabins have no electricity, C. D. has a battery recharging station inside a building by the dinning lodge with about two dozen grounded outlets. u.s. three prong)

Road Lottery: Denali National Park, Alaska
I work in Alaska 6 months out of the year seasonally. On September 13, 2013 I won the Denali National Park road lottery and I was able to drive my own personal vehicle all the way 92 miles up the Denali National Park road. Only National Park vehicles are allowed to drive into Denali National Park except for the select few road lottery winners at the end of the summer season. These are pictures I took of Denali National Park on the day of the road lottery.

Denali National Park
Recorded June 28, 2007.
Denali National Park and Preserve is located in Interior Alaska and contains Mount McKinley (Denali), the tallest mountain in North America. The park and preserve together cover 9,492 square miles. The word Denali means the great one in the native Athabaskan language and refers to the mountain itself. The mountain was named after president William McKinley of Ohio in 1897 by local prospector William A. Dickey, although McKinley had no connection with the region. Denali is home to a variety of Alaskan birds and mammals, including a healthy population of grizzly bears and black bears. Herds of caribou roam throughout the park. Dall sheep are often seen on mountainsides, and moose feed on the aquatic plants of the small lakes and swamps. Despite human impact on the area, Denali accommodates gray wolf dens, both historic and active. Smaller animals, such as hoary marmots, arctic ground squirrels, beavers, pikas, and snowshoe hares are seen in abundance. Foxes, martens, lynx, wolverines also inhabit the park, but are more rarely seen due to their elusive natures.
This video begins as I enter the park and then shifts to the Savage River area for most of the video. Here I hike along the beautiful river where I encounter some wildlife which included a dall ram which walked right up to me.

Alaska trip tips to tour Denali national Park
We came to know a lot of things at Denali which we should have known before coming to Denali, so we decided to have this short video with handy tips which we made while travelling form Access center to our 1st stop on way to Toklat river in Denali national park.
Alaska Tour - Denali, AK - Stop #12
Today we traveled a little south out of Fairbanks, AK towards Denali, AK. Although the miles were just over 100, we traveled very slow over many construction sites with some requiring you to turn your engine off to wait your turn!
In Denali, we quickly got parked in the campground and signed up for a White Water Rafting trip on the Nenana River right across the street! This river is glacier fed, and the rapids are a Class 3-4, which means you will get wet! Luckily, with the water very cold, they provided very good 'Dry Suits' that fit you like a glove and keep the water out! We had a GREAT time surfing the rapids and getting wet!
The next day we went to Denali National Park for a 6 hour bus tour all over the Park. We saw numerous wildlife (Caribou, Moose, Dahl Sheep) and spectacular mountainous vistas! Unfortunately, Mt. McKinley (20,320 ft tall) was totally clouded over and not visible.
