Puerto de Ibiza is a commercial, passenger and fishing port city sports Ibiza , Spain , considered of general interest and managed by the State Ports . Puerto de Ibiza counts, in addition to the docks for merchandise and passengers, with the dam of Botafoc, where the fuel is discharged that consumes the island and place where the big tourist cruises that fit in it tie. Puerto de Ibiza also has several sports docks with a total of 1,400 moorings for pleasure boats.
Since the Carthaginians will found a colony in 650 BC, they turned Puerto de Ibiza into a major naval base for its navy. The Romans made of Ibiza city federated and maintained the flourishing commercial activity that already had under the Carthaginian domination. In the seventeenth century there were already buildings for port purposes and a pier in the area of the Arrabal.
The current facilities date from the beginning of the 20th century, with the construction of the shelter dam that gives protection to the southern part of Puerto de Ibiza . Since then important works of improvement have taken place, but it is since 1980 that Puerto de Ibiza has been equipped with the infrastructures used today.

My video of our relaxed sunset cruise with Chilli Pepper Charters based out of San Antonio on the west side of the island of Ibiza.
We sailed out with Vicente the Captain and Sofi the Sailor who made us feel very welcome providing drinks and hospitality on our 4 hour relaxed cruise.
We sailed along the amazing coast stopping a Cala Salada to swim with the fishes in the clear water of the bay, we all loved jumping off the boat and exploring the sea life beneath the waves.
We then sailed to watch the sun go down over the Mediterranean Sea which was a very special and unique experience.
A must for all who visit Ibiza young or old, single or families

Below the busy promenade, the Town Hall of San Antonio has created a long, wide beach of fine, white sand drawn from the sea. Being easy to walk to, and backed by holiday accommodation, this beach is popular but never appears too full.
The waters are shallow, safe, and great for messing about in - perfect for what is largely a youth-focused beach in the summer. Being the closest beach to San Antonio workers' blocks and youth hostels (meaning plenty of PRs on the prowl), in summer it is full of twenty-somethings socialising and relaxing, with music often spilling out from the many bars along the promenade.
There are excellent watersports facilities and boat trips can be caught to other beaches from the nearby Harbour. In the evenings the beach is awash in a golden light, and becomes a great place to watch the sun set behind the many boats moored further out in the bay.
While it is one-sixth the size of nearby Majorca, Ibiza is over five times the size of Mykonos (Greece), or ten times the size of Manhattan Island. Ibiza has become famous for the association with nightlife and the electronic music that originated on the island. It is well known for its summer club scene which attracts very large numbers of tourists, though the island's government and the Spanish Tourist Office have controversially been working to promote more family-oriented tourism.
Ibiza is considered to be a popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary and at times riotous nightclub based nightlife centred on two areas: Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the southern shore and Sant Antoni to the West. Well-known nightclubs are Privilege, Amnesia, Space, Pacha, Es Paradís and DC10. During the summer, the top producers and DJs in dance come to the island and play at the various clubs, in between touring to other international destinations. Some of the most famous DJs run their own weekly nights around the island.

Ibiza (Catalan: Eivissa [əjˈvisə]) is an island in the Mediterranean Sea 79 km off the coast of the city of Valencia in Spain. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, an autonomous community of Spain. With Formentera, it is one of the two Pine Islands or Pityuses. Its largest cities are Ibiza Town (Catalan: Vila d'Eivissa, or simply Vila), Santa Eulària des Riu and Sant Antoni de Portmany. Its highest point, called Sa Talaiassa (or Sa Talaia), is 475 m/1,558 ft above sea level.
The relatively small island and its cities have become world-famous for their associations with tourism, nightlife, and the electronic music the island has originated. It is well known for its summer club scene which attracts very large numbers of tourists, but the island's government and the Spanish Tourist Office have controversially been working to promote more family-oriented tourism.
