부산 이기대 - Walking Igidae Park, Busan, Korea
Igidae Park is located over a hill from Yongha Sewage Treatment Plant in Yongho 3-dong, the eastern region where Jangsanbong Peak faces the ocean. Jangsanbong Peak rock cliffs boasts a remarkable scenery, which can only be viewed by taking a boat as the areas nearby the cliffs are too dangerous to hike. However, the cliff at the center of Igidae is not vertically steep, but creates a 2 km long almost horizontal slope that connects the mountain with the ocean. Not only does the slope offer an extraordinary view of the ocean waves, but also serves as an excellent fishing spot. The area was used as for military operation and prohibited from civilian access until 1993.
The park, with its rugged cliffs, and lush greenery, is visited by many tourists as it is easily accessible and has a walking trail with outstanding scenery. The red camellia flowers blooming all over the park in the spring are particularly beautiful.

IGIDAE PARK BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA
IGIDAE PARK BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA
We started our 2 day Busan, South Korea trip with a walk to the beautiful Igidae Park in an attempt to reach the Skywalk observatory. We decided to make a detour, and after the walk we found a GukBap (Rice Soup) restaurant to refuel for the next part of our journey.
If you have any questions or comments we read all messages and try to respond to any we receive.
We discovered our passion for traveling, beginning with our destination wedding in Jamaica in 2007. This year we decided to leave everything behind with a goal of traveling to 30 countries. We intend to record our experiences with a day in the life vlog, with the hopes of inspiring others to get out and see the world! Check out our new daily vlog as we start backbacking through Southeast Asia.

Dongbaekseom Island, Haeundae, Busan, South Korea
Dongbaekseom Island (Island of Camellias) is an island located off one end of Busan's famous Haeundae Beach. Although the years of sedimentation have connected the island to the mainland, Dongbaekseom was originally an island and is still referred to as one.
Dongbaekseom Island is easy to navigate thanks to the walking path that is built around it. The island has several attractions, including the monument inscribed with a poem of scholar Choi Chi-won, the mermaid statue based on the legend of Princess Hwagok, and the Nurimaru APEC House. It also offers fantastic views of the Busan shoreline towards Mipo, Dalmaji Hill, Gwangangdaegyo Bridge, and Oryukdo Island. As the name suggests, camellias burst into bloom everywhere on the island from winter to spring.

Stunning Hiking TRAIL - Busan, Korea (WeWillNomad)
Igidae Cliff is a coastal rock formation at the foot of Jangsanbong Peak, Busan, known for the unique view of the rocks that seemingly recede into the sea. The 4.7km Igidae Trail starts at the Oryukdo Skywalk and winds its way all along (and up and down!) the coastal cliffs towards Gwangalli Beach. It is a beautifully scenic and well-established trail.

Busan, South Korea - Part 8: Korean Barbecue in Igidae
Before walking around Igidae Park we had lunch at a restaurant recommended by our airbnb host. A pot with burning charcoal was first put in the hole on the table. Then the waitress trolleyed over lots of meat and vegetables. The soup was served last. A great experience.
