State Police Interrupt a Gold Mining Operation in Oregon!
Our mining claim neighbors called the Cops! People living on the other side of the river where our mining claim is and not liking our mining, called the cops. It appears our neighbors just did not want their liberal utopia disturbed so they call the cops to harass us. The police were very cool as I knew one of them from checking our permits on another river couple months earlier and an Oregon DEQ meeting he showed up at. The rude lady yells to at from other side of river you need a permit to do that...we had them of course. She also told cops we were disrespecful and rude to her...which was totally false. She made up her own narrative about what was happening to justify her being annoyed. Liberal tactic # 3, change the narrative or just plain lie!
This is the short version of the video, filmed on the Applegate River in Oregon while we were LEGALLY GOLD MINING!
In the video, it is a continuous video, shot on my GoPro camera that I was wearing on my head. The video shows me mining and moving around with no editing to show what actually goes on while mining. Then my buddy is helping me move rocks while I'm using a sub-surface dredge...then the cops show up , and I tell him is where the action starts.
UPDATE Jan 1st, 2015: In response to some of the comments saying we are uneducated, rednecks and other stuff...the guys in the video are as follows. One is a millionaire CPA, another a self employed business owner, two others are also self employed and owns a body shop and the other an internet marketer and freelance videographer, and lastly one is the son of the CPA guy and currently in college.

Next time this happens, I will ask the State Police to cite the offending people who disrupt our mining operation based on this Oregon Mining Law:
ORS 517.133 Interfering with a mining operation. (1) As used in this section, lawful mining operation means any small scale mining operation that is in full compliance with state and federal laws.
(2) A person commits the crime of interfering with a mining operation if the person intentionally:
(a) Interferes with a lawful mining operation; or
(b) Stops, or causes to be stopped, a lawful mining operation.
(3) Interfering with a mining operation is a Class C misdemeanor. [1999 c.354 §6]

The Wild and Scenic Rogue River. This video highlights the Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River below the community of Merlin, Oregon. It is a easy drive. From Grants Pass, head north on Interstate 5 for a few miles to Merlin Exit 61. At the end of the off ramp turn left towards Merlin and stay straight through the light and you will be on the Merlin-Galice road. In a few miles you will arrive in the community of Merlin. Great place for snacks and to top off the car gas tank! Continue down the Merlin-Galice road and in about 15 miles you will end up at the Graves Creek Bridge. You can stay on the road, which is well signed, and loop back to Interstate 5 at Wolf Creek. Enjoy. Scott Walter Reports.
The Rogue River National Forest (until 1932 called the Crater National Forest) was established by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908. The name Rogue River commemorates the Takelma Indians, whose defense of their homeland let early day French-Canadian trappers to call them les Coquins, the Rogues. The Rogue River-Siskiyou is the most floristically diverse National Forest in the country with some extraordinary botanical resources.
The unique character of the landscape has led to the designation of 324,000 acres of the Forest as wilderness, and over 200 miles of streams as National Wild and Scenic Rivers. Wilderness areas managed all or in part by the Forest include: Sky Lakes, Rogue-Umpqua Divide, Red Buttes, Kalmiopsis, Siskiyou, Wild Rogue, and Grassy Knob. National Wild and Scenic Rivers include: Upper Rogue, Illinois, North Fork Smith, Chetco, Elk, and Rogue.
The National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act was an outgrowth of the recommendations of a Presidential commission, the Outdoor Recreation Resources Review Commission (ORRRC). Among other things, the commission recommended that the nation protect wild rivers and scenic rivers from development that would substantially change their wild or scenic nature. The act was sponsored by Sen. Frank Church (D-Idaho) and signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on October 2, 1968. A river or river section may be designated by the U.S. Congress or the Secretary of the Interior. As of 2004[update], a total of 156 rivers have wild and scenic status.
Selected rivers in the United States are preserved for possessing outstandingly, remarkable scenic, recreational, geologic, fish and wildlife, historic, cultural, or other similar values. Rivers, or sections of rivers, so designated are preserved in their free-flowing condition and are not dammed or otherwise impeded.
The Rogue River in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Oregon flows from the Cascade Range to the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the original eight rivers included in the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968, which included 84 miles (135 km) of the Rogue, from 7 miles (11.3 km) west of Grants Pass to 11 miles (18 km) east of Gold Beach. In addition, roughly 40 miles (64 km) of the Rogue between Crater Lake National Park and the unincorporated community of Prospect was named Wild and Scenic in 1988.
The Rogue River begins in the Cascade Range at Boundary Springs within Crater Lake National Park. It flows south and west through the Rogue RiverSiskiyou National Forest, collecting tributaries from the RogueUmpqua Divide Wilderness to the west and the Sky Lakes Wilderness to the southeast.
Below the confluence of the South Fork, the Rogue River is impounded by William L Jess Dam, creating Lost Creek Lake. Below the dam the Rogue River collects more tributaries, including Elk Creek and Bear Creek, the latter of which flows through nearby Medford. The river then flows west through the mountains to the city of Grants Pass. A few miles below the city, the Rogue River is joined by the Applegate River and then Wolf Creek, after which the Rogue winds north, then west, then southwest through the Klamath Mountains and the Wild Rogue Wilderness. Along the way it is joined by the Illinois River. The Rogue River reaches the Pacific Ocean at the city of Gold Beach.[9]
The river flows for 215 miles (346 km), of which 124 miles (200 km) in two separate sections bear the designation of National Wild and Scenic River.

The Rogue river trail and Illinois river trail are two upriver hikes suitable for one day excursions or multi day trips. You can watch rafters going by, black bear searching for berries and Bald eagles catching fish.
The Samuel Boardman state park between Brookings and Gold Beach may be one of the most beautiful coastal hikes in the world. Arch rock, natural bridges, Indian sands and China beach are all connected by a twelve mile trail.
Biking the Oregon coast is a popular activity as is kayaing the rivers and ocean. Near pistol river there are also horse back rides on the beach.
Port Orford is the most westerly town in the continental United States and one of the only open 'dorry docks' in the world where you can watch commercial fishermen return with their daily catch and even buy fresh fish directly off the boat.
Just south of Port Orford is Prehistoric Gardens, a wet coastal rain forest and very easy walk through time amongst replicas of Dinosaurs.
Exploring the Oregon coast and it's beaches is a typical way to pass time as is tidepooling and searching for treasures. Gold Beach Books is the largest bookstore on the Oregon coast and is located in Gold Beach.
Fishing on the coast and especially on the rogue river for salmon may be one of the big attractions in Gold Beach and Ocean fishing is an exciting way to see the coast from an entirely different angel and go after rock fish and ling cod.

The Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest is a United States National Forest in the U.S. states of Oregon and California. The formerly separate Rogue River and Siskiyou National Forests were administratively combined in 2004. Now, the Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest ranges from the crest of the Cascade Range west into the Siskiyou Mountains, covering almost 1.8 million acres (7,300 km2).[4] Forest headquarters are located in Medford, Oregon.

The former Rogue River portion of the Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest is located in parts of five counties in southern Oregon and northern California. In descending order of land area they are Jackson, Klamath, Douglas, Siskiyou, and Josephine counties, with Siskiyou County being the only one in California. It has a land area of 628,443 acres (254,322 ha). There are local ranger district offices located in Ashland, Butte Falls, Grants Pass, Jacksonville, and Prospect.

In descending order of land area they are Curry, Josephine, and Coos counties in Oregon and Del Norte County in California. It has a land area of 1,094,726 acres (443,020 ha).[1] There are local ranger district offices located in Cave Junction, Gold Beach, and Powers.
Nearly all of the national forest is mountainous and includes parts of the Southern Oregon Coast Range, the Klamath Mountains, and the Cascade Range.
The largest river in the national forest is the Rogue River, which originates in the Cascade Range and flows through the Klamath Mountains and Coast Range. The Illinois River is a major tributary of the Rogue in the Klamath Mountains, while the Sixes, Elk, Pistol, Chetco, and Winchuck rivers drain the Coast Range directly to the Pacific Ocean.

The Siskiyou National Forest was established on October 5, 1906. On July 1, 1908, it absorbed Coquille National Forest and other lands. Rogue River National Forest traces its establishment back to the creation of the Ashland Forest Reserve on September 28, 1893, by the General Land Office. The lands were transferred to the Forest Service in 1906, and it became a National Forest on March 4, 1907. On July 1, 1908, Ashland was combined with other lands from Cascade, Klamath and Siskiyou National Forests to establish Crater National Forest. On July 18, 1915, part of Paulina National Forest was added, and on July 9, 1932, the name was changed to Rogue River.[6]
Preston Peak, Siskiyou Wilderness
The national forest is home to some stands of old growth, including Port Orford cedar and Douglas fir in the Copper Salmon area.[8] A 1993 Forest Service study estimated that the extent of old growth in the forest was 345,300 acres (139,700 ha)[9] some of which occurs in the Red Buttes Wilderness. Blue oak, Quercus douglasii, and Canyon live oak, Quercus chrysolepis occur in the Siskiyou National Forest. For the California endemic Blue Oak, the disjunctive stands are occurring near the northern limit of its range, which occur no farther north than Del Norte County.[10] The world's tallest pine tree is a 268.35-foot (81.79 m) ponderosa and is located in the national forest.[11]
In 2002 the massive Biscuit Fire burned nearly 500,000 acres (200,000 ha), including much of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness.

Squaw Lakes Campground is nestled in the deep shade of a mixed-conifer forest on the banks of Squaw and Little Squaw Lakes. The facility provides tent-only campsites that are reachable via foot trails. The unique, remote setting offers visitors stunning scenery and access to a multitude of recreational opportunities.
Natural Features:
The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is composed of two distinct geological provinces: the Cascade Range and the Siskiyou Mountains. The Cascade Range is dominated by snow-capped volcanic peaks such as 9,495 foot Mt. McLoughlin within the Sky Lakes Wilderness. The Siskiyou area embodies world-class rivers, remarkable fisheries and the most complex and treasured plant communities in the Pacific Northwest.
Diverse landscapes provide habitat for a wide-range of wildlife, from spotted owls and elk to salamanders and sandhill cranes.
Recreation:
Hiking and fishing top the list of recreational opportunities at Squaw Lakes Campground. Two mountain lakes, a river and a handful of hiking trails are accessible from the campground.
Highway 101 - Southern Oregon Coastline
The Oregon Coast is more than a place, it's a state of mind. No place on the map of Oregon is marked as the Oregon Coast, but everybody knows that the 363 miles of coastline where the Pacific Ocean washes up on the state's western beaches is unlike any place else.
Highway 101 winds down the entire Oregon Coast from the Columbia River to the California border. Along the way, it passes through the old growth forests of Oswald West State Park, name for the Oregon governor who began the process of securing Oregon's beaches for public use. All but one of the famous McCullough bridges on Highway 101 are still in operation. The only one that has been replaced is across Alsea Bay at Waldport. Before the bridges were completed during the Great Depression, travel down the Oregon Coast required many ferry trips across the mouths of rivers.

It's not a bird, and it's certainly not a plane, so what is this object hovering over Lake Superior? While traveling through Paradise, Michigan, Erik Rintamaki noticed two golden orbs flying above a boat for over an hour. One of the lights mysteriously disappeared and reappeared shortly after he began filming, leaving him and his female companion wondering what exactly they were witnessing.
