Trail of the Tequesta is a short film which honors South Florida's nearly 5000 year old Native American Tequesta heritage while sharing the story of a park in the Tarpon river area of Fort Lauderdale, Florida that was recently the location of an ancient Tequesta archeological find. Uncovered artifacts proved that a Tequesta Indian village once existed at the site along the cities famous New River.

Today we went to Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, Florida. We visited the Tocobaga Native American Burial Mound and spotted manatees swimming in Tampa Bay.
This area was the “Capitol” of the Tocobaga Tribe when the Spanish Conquistadors came here in the 1500s.
