Weekend in Jackson, Wyoming in Winter
We took a few days to run down to Jackson, Wyoming this January to see friends and take a sleigh ride on the elk refuge. There is SO much to do in Jackson that we've planned another trip in May. The elk refuge is worth the price. You take a short shuttle bus ride from the visitor center north of town and are shuttled back. There are blankets for your legs and you can get very close to the elk. We also enjoyed a ski in Grand Teton National Park. It's a majestic park and the trails are excellent. We didn't show our visit to Dornan's in Moose after our sky and keep an eye out for some 360 Video from our tubing fun at Snow King right in town!

Exploring the Ghost Town Winton, Wyoming
Winton was mining town with roughly 700 residents until the mines closed in 1952. Not long after the closure of the mines the town's population started to decline and within just a few years it was left completely abandoned. Over half a century of neglect has reduced the town to ruins.

A Wild West Adventure -Snowboarding in Jackson Hole / Wyoming
Jackson Hole in Wyoming has always been on my bucket list so in January 2017 I went there for three weeks with the expectations of shredding/ snowboarding everyday apart from a few, where i would go to Yellowstone National Park. It didn't quite work out like that because after my first three days out of three weeks, A massive storm cycle came in bringing some of the most incredible powder days of my life, until the storm got so big that it bought down shop roofs, power lines and the power throughout Teton Village and Jackson Hole Ski Resort closing it for the following week which was my last in Jackson- Leading me to spend my last with week cabin fever until the storm cleared and I went snowmobiling, Met some of the awesome people of Teton Gravity Research, checked out a geothermal hot spring, and filmed time lapses and drone shots that would contribute to this film- Which is my Final major project for my HND in film making, my goal with this film was to make a summary of the adventure ( without a narrative through out ), but also to hopefully inspire someone to go on their own adventure, and to maybe even try Snowboarding whilst they're at it.
I had an awesome time in Jackson/ The Wild West and i strongly recommend you check it out there.

Historic South Pass City and Carissa Mine – A Wyoming Ghost Town – near Lander, Wyoming
Historic South Pass City and Carissa Mine – A Wyoming Ghost Town – near Lander, Wyoming.
South Pass City sprang up when gold was discovered in the area in 1866. Up to three thousand people called this town home in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming, approximately 35 miles south of Lander.
Unfortunately, major gold deposits were never found and by the mid 1870’s the town dwindled to just 100 people. Over the next century the town declined further until the last pioneer family moved in 1949. The town fell into disrepair until the end of the 20th century when efforts were taken to renew the community.
The Carissa Mine was the primary economic engine for South Pass City. In 1928 new money helped build a modern mill and support buildings but the precious metals were exhausted in a couple of decades. The gold mine and mill closed permanently in 1949.
The Friends of South Pass is a non-profit committed to preserving the rich history of South Pass City. They preserved more than 30 structures and the town is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
The Friends of South Pass volunteer, host events & support the historic site financially, making sure South Pass City’s future is bright. An informative website is only a click away:
