Jacob Lake Arizona Motel Cabins Jacob Lake Arizona Motel
Jacob Lake Arizona Motel Jacob Lake is a nice little rest stop sorta place. There is a campground across the street and it looks okay.
the cabins and rooms are kinda small. In back there is a modern looking apt building, I'm guessing that is where the rangers live.
Lodging at Jacob Lake Inn is a reflection of our history. All rooms are comfortable and clean, ranging from the very new to our historic cabins. A couple of the cabins are pleasantly remodeled survivors of our original location at Jacob Lake on the old Jacob Canyon gravel highway. These cabins have seen generations of honeymooners, hunters, families, and friends. We also have a variety of comfortable hotel units. All of our rooms have showers, heaters, and a nice porch to sit and enjoy the cool mountain breezes. In addition to those ammenities our newer rooms have cable television, internet access, and phones.

A Review...We booked online several months in advance as was advised for two nights. We had expectations of a rustic cabin. Rustic doesn't describe what awaited us. When we check in, the staff was very friendly, made suggestions of local attractions for us to see, and pointed out items/foods in their bakery/cafe/gift shop. When we went to check in our room, shocked didn't describe what awaited us. The outside door would not open large enough to enter if you were carrying your luggage, and we're small people. We had to put our bag in and then walk in. There was a rotted-away hole by the exterior door threshold, the floor was spongy and tilted, the bathroom door was difficult to open/close; it kept getting hung up on the door handle of a closet. Then the ultimate disappointment. NO hot water. After a day of hiking in the dusty, desert heat we really desired to be able to take a shower. Didn't happen. We had to be satisfied with a cold wash off in a shower smaller than many RVs.

Kaibab Camper Village - Jacob Lake, Arizona
Kaibab Camper Village is the only campground on the north side of Grand Canyon that has hookups. It can also accommodate large rigs. It is a small, family owned and operated campground that has many tall Ponderosa pine trees and an open meadow, surrounded by Kaibab National Forest land. It is peaceful and off the beaten path.

Volcanic Off-Roading: Mogollon Rim to Cinders to Jacob Lake! Part 4 - Ultimate Adventure 2017
Part 4 of Ultimate Adventure 2017. We awoke on Day Five to a stunningly panoramic view from our campsite high atop the Mogollon Rim. With all of Arizona laid out below us we drank in the scenery before mounting our 4x4s and heading for Flagstaff, Arizona, to wheel one of the coolest natural features in the area. The Cinders area is just what the name implies: huge mounds of volcanic cinder, or less specifically, volcanic lava pebbles. With huge, towering mountains of cinders several hundred feet high and sprawling over a wide area, the group was turned loose to explore and hammer down on the throttle. Making sure to stay well clear of any vegetation, pretty much any line is allowed here so the rigs with more horsepower put on a really good show. And those that didn’t have power to spare put it in Low Range and did their best to putt up the steep slopes. With some fun under our belt, we hit the road because we still had over six hours to get to our campsite at Jacob Lake. On Day Six we awoke at 8,000-foot campsite and hustled over to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for a Griswold view of the rim and then aired down for 180 miles of dirt adventure driving, including a visit to the Grand Canyon at its most remote location accessible by motor vehicle. After that, it was more dirt into the night.
