my recent trip to Jaipur in the month of May gave a deeper insight into the city and its incredible charm. I found out the best and cheapest places to shop in Jaipir, from murti bazaar / marble market to blue pottery to artifacts, et al'.
Here are the details of the murti bazzar:
You need to go to Murti Bhadaar shop. You can reach from chand pole or indira bazaar to tisra (3rd) chauraha. Mr. Govind is th owner of Murti Bhadaar. You can contact him at : 09001530093

Handicraft fair exhibits handmade products in Jaipur
Jaipur, Sep 03 (ANI): A three-week long fair with more than 200 stalls exhibiting handicrafts is underway at Jaipur ahead of festive season. The handicrafts expo, organized by Jawahar Kala Kendra, will continue till Sunday (September 06). People in large numbers gathered at the exhibition that showcased products like furniture, gifts, decorative items, homeware, carpets, sarees, ceramic goods and many more. Most of the arts displayed in the fair were created by the artisans who live in huts or small villages of the state. An exhibitor, M S Khan, said there is a need to promote Rajasthan's handloom industry. Each year Handicrafts exports are registering around 25 percent growth. In Rajasthan around 600,000 people are directly or indirectly employed in this trade. Rajasthan is a rich state in the field of arts and crafts with stone, clay, leather, wood, ivory, brass, silver and textiles available in their best forms. Rajasthan's handicrafts are exported worldwide. Handicraft business contributes around 2/3 part of GDP each year of Rajasthan.

Jaipur is a shopper's Paradise. Although most tourists visit Jaipur to view its grand monuments, nonetheless there are as many who come to shop. And indeed a shopper's paradise it is. The list of things available is endless, but the more popular items on the agenda of visitor to the city are jewellery, textiles and saris, good made of marble, wood, stone, lac, clay, metal and leather.
Jaipur is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was founded on 18 November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber, after whom the city has been named. The city today has a population of 3.1 million. Jaipur is known as the Pink City of India.
The city is remarkable among pre-modern Indian cities for the width and regularity of its streets which are laid out into six sectors separated by broad streets 34 m (111 ft) wide. The urban quarters are further divided by networks of gridded streets. Five quarters wrap around the east, south, and west sides of a central palace quarter, with a sixth quarter immediately to the east. The Palace quarter encloses the sprawling Hawa Mahal palace complex, formal gardens, and a small lake. Nahargarh Fort, which was the residence of the King Sawai Jai Singh II, crowns the hill in the northwest corner of the old city. The observatory, Jantar Mantar, is one of the World Heritage Sites. Included on the Golden Triangle tourist circuit, along with Delhi and Agra, Jaipur is an extremely popular tourist destination in Rajasthan and India.

It comprises most of the area of the large, inhospitable Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert, which parallels the Sutlej-Indus river valley along its border with Pakistan to the west. Rajasthan is also bordered by Gujarat to the southwest, Madhya Pradesh to the southeast, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to the northeast and Punjab to the north. Rajasthan covers 10.4% of India, an area of 342,239 square kilometres (132,139 sq mi).

Bapu Bazar - Best Market Of Jaipur | Shopping Guide And Tips | Rajasthan Tourism
In this video, I have explored the famous Bapu Bazar of Jaipur. This market is famous for its artificial jewelry, bandhni saree and leather juttis. This market not just makes one of the best places to shop in Jaipur but also a beautiful places to take a walk in the pink city. It opens at 10.30 AM and closes at around 7.30-8.00 PM. Bapu Bazar is not that crowded during the daytime but you may see the streets full of crowds during the evening time. You can shop for typical Rajasthani items from this market including salwar kameez, juttis, jhumka, rajasthani dolls, handicrafts etc.

Blue Pottery
Blue Pottery is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur, though it is Turko-Persian in origin.The name 'blue pottery' comes from the eye-catching blue dye used to color the pottery.
Jaipur blue pottery, made out of a similar frit material to Egyptian faience, is glazed and low-fired. No clay is used: the 'dough' for the pottery is prepared by mixing quartz stone powder, powdered glass, Multani Mitti (Fuller's Earth), borax, gum and water.Another source cites Katira Gond powder (a gum), and saaji (soda bicarbonate) as ingredients.
Some of this pottery is semi-transparent and mostly decorated with animal and bird motifs. Being fired at very low temperature makes them fragile. The range of items is primarily decorative, such as ashtrays, vases, coasters, small bowls and boxes for trinkets. The colour palette is restricted to blue derived from the cobalt oxide, green from the copper oxide and white, though other non-conventional colours, such as yellow and brown are sometimes included.
Kathputli
Kathputli Rajasthan is one of the most popular performing arts of Rajasthan. A traditional folk dance, Kathputli is a puppet dance based on popular legends and performed by skilled puppeteers. Such is the popularity of the puppet-playing tradition in Rajasthan that the name of Kathputli Dance itself evokes images of Rajasthan and its folklores.
Wooden camel Craft
Split ply camel girths of Rajasthan are generally made manually by hand without involving any sort of loom. Goat hair or cotton cord is woven into yarn on the spindle which is then doubled to make it two-ply and so on. A four-ply yarn is used for girth, with each ply being two-ply. Black and whie yarn.
The dry four ? ply yarn is spooled on a spindle and the cords of one of the cords is split open with the eye end of a large wooden needle and untwisted to a quarter of a turn; the next cord is threaded through the eye and is pulled back through the first strand. The process is done along the row, and worked down, row by row, where each individual cord reaches down and across the newly created fabric on a diagonal line ending on the selvedge, finally creating a zigzag pattern. There are standard variations in pattern which could either be monochrome, chequered or a pattern in horizontal waves

Produced mainly in Jaipur and Jodhpur, Rajasthani juttis or morjaris are sure to enchant and to provide a royal touch to one’s attire. Jaipuri shoes are traditionally made of leather and ornamented with detailed embroidery. These mojaris or juttis
have evolved into several localised design variations. By and large, they have no distinction for the left or right foot, and over time take the shape of the foot they are wear on. They usually have a flat sole, and are similar in design for both women and men, except that, men’s juttis have a sharp extended tip, curved upwards like traditional Rajasthani moustaches, and are also called khussa. Some women juttis have no heel covering, near the ankle.
Mojaris and juttis are the favourite footwear of all Rajasthanis alike from Royal families down to the farmers working in their fields. It is something which was and still is commonly used by almost all social groups of Rajasthan. With the passing of time, the favourite footwear of Rajasthan evolved from the desert to metropolitan
cities and became the footwear preferred in festivals and weddings all over the country.
