Amber Fort | Must Visit in Jaipur |
Amer Fort is a fort located in Amer, Rajasthan, India. Amer is a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi) located 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. The town of Amer was originally built by Meenas, and later it was ruled by Raja Man Singh (December 21, 1550 – July 6, 1614). Amer Fort is known for its artistic Hindu style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake, which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace.
Constructed of red sandstone and marble, the attractive, opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with a courtyard. It consists of the Diwan-i-Aam, or Hall of Public Audience, the Diwan-i-Khas, or Hall of Private Audience, the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade within the palace. Hence, the Amer Fort is also popularly known as the Amer Palace. The palace was the residence of the Rajput Maharajas and their families. At the entrance to the palace near the fort's Ganesh Gate, there is a temple dedicated to Shila Devi, a goddess of the Chaitanya cult, which was given to Raja Man Singh when he defeated the Raja of Jessore, Bengal in 1604. (Jessore is now in Bangladesh).
This palace, along with Jaigarh Fort, is located immediately above on the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the same Aravalli range of hills. The palace and Jaigarh Fort are considered one complex, as the two are connected by a subterranean passage. This passage was meant as an escape route in times of war to enable the royal family members and others in the Amer Fort to shift to the more redoubtable Jaigarh Fort. Annual tourist visitation to the Amer Palace was reported by the Superintendent of the Department of Archaeology and Museums as 5000 visitors a day, with 1.4 million visitors during 2007. At the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2013, Amer Fort, along with five other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan.

Trip 2015 - Balloon Ride Over Jaipur Countryside in Rajasthan, India
Video of early morning balloon ride over Jaipur countryside during visit to Rajasthan India in February 2015
Exploring Jaipur in India | Everything to See & Do in the Pink City
We have arrived at our final spot here in India - the incredible pink city of Jaipur.
Our first spot on finding everything to see and do in this Indian city is heading to the Jaipur Royal Palace - one of the most photogenic palaces we have seen - with colors of choral pinks and oranges.
As we arrived quite late from our drive over from Karauli we went straight to bed to wake up at 4 am for something very special - a hot air balloon ride of the countryside of Jaipur.
Here we had a unique experience as we landed in a nearby village where the locals helped us get back on the road - which was super magical :)
We ended our time in Jaipur by catching Jeeps up to Amber Fort to reflect on our time here in India!

Palaces of Jaipur | Rajasthan | Pink City | Jaipur city tour | Forts and Palaces | Amer , Hawa Mahal
Padharo Mhare des !! (Welcome to my land)
Rajasthan has been always a place for it’s heritage royalty and hospitality. Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan. It is the Pink City of India .
Jaipur is one of the most visited places of India. It is a famous tourist place of India.
Jaipur is popular for many things mainly Palaces of Jaipur and shopping.
Jaipur contains multiple palaces in a single city and that is why it is worth a visit.
This vlog is the touristy version of my hometown city.
So here goes my day in Jaipur
Amer Fort- Situated on the outskirts of Jaipur, this magnificent fort is a visual to eyes. This fort is the main attraction of the city. This beautiful fort reminds you of the royalty this place holds. Also many bollywood movies are shot here like Jodha Akbar, Padmavat , Bajirao Mastani.
Panna Meena Kund- This is a step well where rain water used to be conserved and saved as Rajasthan is a desert area and water shortage was prevalent here.
Jal Mahal- Jal Mahal was a vacation home of the Maharaja of Jaipur. It is made in middle of the Mansagar Lake and is made of material called Sandstone. This is a beautiful fort between a lake. Wow what a life!
Hawa Mahal- Then we went to the iconic Hawa Mahal. This palace was made for the royal women to experience the celebrations of the street as women were not allowed to step out freely due to the Pardah System. It is called Hawa Mahal as there are multiple windows that keeps the palace cool just because of the Hawa (air)
Nahargarh Fort- This fort is situated on a hill and provides an aerial view of the entire city. This is what makes this fort a must visit.
Albert Hall- This palace is an art museum and is well lit in the night that makes this city so cool.
I hope you enjoy the video :)

Jaipur (India) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Jaipur in India.
Along historic walls, numerous beautiful gates lead into the centre of Jaipur. The city’s well- preserved old town, built on the orders of Maharaja Jai Singh, gives the impression that it is almost exactly as it was at the time of its creation in 1727.In the 18th century it was believed that both the city and palace were unlikely to encounter hostile attack but subsequent events prove this not to be so. Although a number of military defences existed in 1748, the city was attacked by the Maraths. The exquisite residence of the Maharajas, the Hawa Mahal, otherwise known as the Palace Of The Wind, is now regarded as the finest architectural landmark in Jaipur. However, hiding beyond its magnificent honeycomb-like facade there is a simple staircase: for the building was the domain of the royal harem! Outside the city, close to the route that led to the former capital of Amber, a fairytale-like castle rises up from a small artificial lake. The Jal Mahal was built in the 18th century by Madho Singh for the royal hunt. Due to its many fascinating architectural and cultural treasures, Jaipur is deservedly one of the most popular travel destinations in India.
