Amer Fort in Jaipur, India - Full Guided Tour
A full guided tour around the Amer Fort in Jaipur India.
Amer Palace (Hindi: आमेर क़िला, also spelled and pronounced as Amber) is located in Amer (a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi), 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, Rajasthan state, India. It is the principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area, located high on a hill. Amer Fort was built by Raja Man Singh I. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style of Hindu elements. With its large ramparts, series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks the Maota Lake, at its forefront.
The aesthetic ambiance of the palace is seen within its walls on a four level layout plan (each with a courtyard) in a well turned out opulent palace complex built with red sandstone and marble consisting of the Diwan-e-Aam or the Hall of Public Audience, the Diwan-e-Khas or the Hall of Private Audience, the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace) or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over the water cascade within the palace. Hence, the Amer Fort is also popularly known as the Amer Palace. The palace was lived in by the Rajput Maharajas and their families. At the entrance to the palace near the fort's Ganesh Gate, there is also a temple dedicated to Sila Devi, a goddess of the Chaitanya cult which was given to Raja Man Singh when he had defeated the Raja of Jessore, Bengal in 1604. (Jessore is now in Bangladesh).
This palace along with Jaigarh Fort, located immediately above on the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the same Aravalli range of hills, is considered as one complex, as the two are well connected by a subterranean passage. This passage was meant as an escape route in times of war for the royal family members and others in the Amer Fort to shift to the more redoubtable Jaigarh Fort.[
Annual tourist visitation to the Amer Palace in Amer town was reported by the Superintendent of Department of Archaeology and Museums to the Amer Palace as 5000 visitors a day, and 1.4 million visitors were reported during 2007
The Amber Fort is a very impressive structure from the exterior, set high on a hill with a big wall around it that looks like a smaller version of the Great Wall of China.
To reach the fort you walk up a steep incline that zigzags the hillside. A number of tourists hire elephants to take them up but they look mistreated and I totally disagree with this practice.
As usual the hawkers are everywhere trying to sell cameras, batteries, postcards and crappy puppets.
Once inside, the fort is very impressive with large open courtyards and even an area with convex glass on the ceiling to reflect heat in winter.
But, to be honest it is much the same as the other forts we have been too, this is not a bad thing as to me they are some of the highlights of the trip.

NEVER ENDING Indian STREET FOOD Night Tour of the PINK CITY | Jaipur, India
During my visit to Jaipur, aka the Pink City I went on a never ending Indian street food tour with my friend Atray from Hungry Walks and in association with Delhi Food Walks to try all the amazing Indian street food in Jaipur!
TRAVEL HUSTLE REPEAT GEAR ►
MY FILM MAKING KIT ►
We started our never-ending Indian street food tour with some Chai at Sahu Chai Wala. They have a different type of Chai because they make it on coal and it simmers for a long time.
Next up is Aloo Tikki a deep fried potato patty with chick pea curry and Papdi Chaat a fried wafer snack. They were both delicious!!
To change things up we went and got a quick dessert called Mishri Mawa which is rice pudding with cardamon. A great way to change up the taste!
We then hit up a place to try some mouth fresheners. I tried like 7 things, but everything had spices so be-aware of that!
A must visit is Achar Shop which is a 180 year old pickle shop that has some of the tastiest pickles in the world! The best was the mango flavored pickle, wow so good!
Next is Kachori, a fried pastry with yogurt and chutney! A very tasty dish!
We had to hit up another pastry shop and we dried Laddu, which is basically a glazed doughnut. It was extremely sweet!
Then on to the main course to try some Rajasthani food! We tried Gatte Ki Sabzi, Daal, Aloo Pyaz Sabzi and Bejad Ki Roti. The combination was really delicious! The taste of the Gatte Ki Sabzi was the winner for me!
We then went on to try three things, Kadhai Ka Doodh which is milk that simmers for hours. Thandi which is like a Indian slushy with berries and nuts and Paan.
Out of everything we tried my favorite was the Rajasthani food! It was top notch!!
Here is the list of all the dishes:
-Chai
-Aloo Tikki
-Papdi Chaat
-Mishri Mawa
-Mouth Fresheners
-Achar Shop
-Kachori
-Laddu
-Gatte Ki Sabzi
-Daal
-Aloo Pyaz Sabzi
-Bejad Ki Roti
-Kadhai Ka Doodh
-Thandi
-Paan

Bapu Bazar - Best Market Of Jaipur | Shopping Guide And Tips | Rajasthan Tourism
In this video, I have explored the famous Bapu Bazar of Jaipur. This market is famous for its artificial jewelry, bandhni saree and leather juttis. This market not just makes one of the best places to shop in Jaipur but also a beautiful places to take a walk in the pink city. It opens at 10.30 AM and closes at around 7.30-8.00 PM. Bapu Bazar is not that crowded during the daytime but you may see the streets full of crowds during the evening time. You can shop for typical Rajasthani items from this market including salwar kameez, juttis, jhumka, rajasthani dolls, handicrafts etc.

1 City Palace -
The ‘City Palace’ is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Jaipur, located in the heart of the city. Dating back to the 19th century, the palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Showcasing a unique combination of Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture with an array of courtyards, gardens and special structures built inside the palace complex, the City Palace gives you a deep insight into the excellent architectural skills of the designers and engineers of the bygone era.
2 Hawa Mahal -
One of the most prominent landmarks of the pink city, ‘Hawa Mahal’ is located very near to the ‘City Palace’. Rajput customs used to be very stringent for the royal ladies in the past. Ladies were bound by a strict ‘Purdah System’ and were not allowed to go in public and interact with strangers.
3 Albert Hall Museum - Acclaimed to be the oldest museum of Rajasthan, the ‘Albert Hall Museum’ is located inside the ‘Ram Niwas Garden’ and was opened to public in the year 1887. Foundation stone of the museum was laid in 1876 by the then
4 - Jaipur Zoo - Located at a walking distance from the ‘Albert Hall Museum’ in Jaipur, the ‘Jaipur Zoo’ also known as the ‘Zoological Garden’, is a famous tourist attraction, especially amongst kids. Spread across a sprawling area of 33 acres, the Zoo was established under the rule of Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II in 1877.
5 - Jal Mahal - Also known as the ‘Water Palace’, ‘Jal Mahal’ is situated right in the heart of the ‘Man Sagar Lake’, flanked by the majestic Nahargarh Hills. Unique location and charming beauty of the palace makes it one of the best photographic sites in Jaipur. Originally, believed to be built by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh some 300 years back, as a lodge for his duck hunting parties, the palace was renovated by his son later on to beautify its exteriors with courtyards and gardens built in typical Mughal style.
6 - Amer Fort - Located in Amer town, at a distance of 11 km. from Jaipur, the ‘Amer Fort’ is one of the most impressive forts of Rajasthan and is visited by an umpteen number of tourists every year. Overlooking the beautiful Maota Lake, the fort is a masterpiece of the Rajputana architecture. Built by Raja Man Singh I in 16thcentury.
7 - Jaigarh Fort - Overlooking the ‘Amber Fort’ and ‘Maota Lake’, the ‘Jaigarh Fort’ stands tall atop the ‘Cheel Ka Teela’ hill in the Aravali range. Built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II as a shield to protect Amber Fort and Jaipur city from attack of invaders, the magnificent structure of the fort boasts of the opulence of the Rajput rulers. Owing to the fact that the fort never witnessed any defeat, it also came to be called as the ‘Fort of Victory’.
8 Nahargarh Fort :- Overlooking the city of Jaipur, ‘Nahargarh Fort’ is another imposing structure of Jaipur. The scenic Aravali hills serve as a perfect backdrop for this impressive fort. The famous ‘Masti ki Pathshala’ song from the Bollywood movie, ‘Rang De Basanti’, shot at a baori of this fort, has made this place even more popular amongst tourists.
Major attraction inside the fort is the ‘Madhavendra Bhavan’ that speaks volumes of the Rajput taste for exquisite artwork and craftsmanship.
9 Kanak Vrindavan :- Also popularly known as the ‘Kanak Ghati’ amongst the locals, ‘Kanak Vrindavan’ is a beautiful garden built in a picturesque valley surrounded by the hills of the Aravali range. Located at a distance of 8 km. from Jaipur towards Amber Fort, the garden complex was built on the orders of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, some 275 years back.
10 Birla Mandir :- Located at the foot of the ‘Moti Dungari’ hill in Jaipur, ‘Birla Mandir’ is a great piece of beauty and splendour. Built by the famous industrialist family of Birlas in 1988, the name of the temple is prefixed with the word ‘Birla’. Dedicated to Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu, the temple is also popularly referred to as ‘Laxmi Narayan Temple’.
