On this Sunday, February 19 edition of the Alex Jones Show, Alex broadcasts live from the road in Dallas, Texas. He talks with Underwear bomber witness and Michigan attorney Kurt Haskell and former newspaper journalist and New York Times best-selling author Jim Marrs. He also covers a number of current issues, including more steps in a move toward an attack on Iran and a war in the Middle East that will expand into a Third World War and deal a final blow to a teetering global economy as a ruthless corporate and bankster elite attempt to consolidate power and usher in a New World Order and its authoritarian police state control grid.

Eternal Father! (USN)(London Philharmonic)(Lyrics+Song/Artist Info) H.D. #ProfHowdy
LYRICS:
Verse 1: Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
Verse 4: O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

The Navy Hymn is Eternal Father, Strong to Save. The original words were written as a poem in 1860 by William Whiting of Winchester, England, for a student who was about to sail for the United States. The melody, published in 1861, was composed by fellow Englishman, Rev. John Bacchus Dykes, an Episcopalian clergyman.
The hymn, found in most hymnals, is known as the Navy hymn because it is sung at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. It is also sung on ships of the Royal Navy (U.K.) and has been translated into French.
Eternal Father was the favorite hymn of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and was sung at his funeral in Hyde Park, New York, in April 1945. It was also played by the Navy Band in 1963 as President John F. Kennedy's body was carried up the steps of the U.S. Capitol to lie in state. Roosevelt had served as Secretary of the Navy and Kennedy was a PT boat commander in World War II.
Verse 2: O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked'st on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
Verse 3: Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTM Research Reserve) is dedicated to the conservation of natural biodiversity and cultural resources through research and monitoring to guide science-based stewardship and education strategies.
GTM Research Reserve protects 73,352 acres south of the City of Jacksonville (Duval County) in St. Johns County and Flagler County on the northeast coast of Florida, one of the fastest growing regions in the state. The populations of St. Johns County and the adjacent Flagler, Putnam and Volusia counties have grown 20 percent since 1990 and are projected to grow an additional 20 percent by 2010. More than 1.3 million people live within 50 miles of GTM Research Reserve, including the cities of Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Palatka, Daytona and New Smyrna.
These protected areas provide habitat for a wide variety of fish and wildlife. A species list recently compiled for Guana River Marsh Aquatic Preserve indicated the presence of at least 44 mammal, 358 bird, 41 reptile, 21 amphibian, 303 fish and 580 plant species. It contains habitats essential to 48 protected animals and 8 protected plants.
GTM Research Reserve is also important for the economy because these include 16 species that are fished or harvested commercially and 18 species that are fished recreationally.
GTM Research Reserve is geographically separated into a northern and southern component, separated by the City of St. Augustine. The northern component (referred to locally as Guana) is associated with the Tolomato and Guana River estuaries and the southern component is associated with the Matanzas River.
The northern component consists of:
Guana River Marsh Aquatic Preserve.
Guana River Wildlife Management Area.
Stokes Landing Conservation Area.
Deep Creek State Forest.
The GTM Environmental Education Center (EEC) is located in the northern component of GTM Research Reserve ten miles north of St. Augustine on State Road A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach, and serves as the administrative, education, research and stewardship facilities for the northern component of GTM Research Reserve.
The southern component of GTM Research Reserve consists of:
Pellicer Creek Aquatic Preserve.
Faver-Dykes State Park.
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.
Moses Creek Conservation Area.
Pellicer Creek Conservation Area.
Fort Matanzas National Monument.
Matanzas State Forest.
Princess Place Preserve.
The River to Sea Preserve at Marineland.
Other state sovereign submerged lands adjacent to the Matanzas River within its boundary.
There is a smaller office building on AIA within the River to the Sea Preserve in Marineland. The Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund (the Trustees) has designated CAMA to manage Guana River Marsh Aquatic Preserve (excluding Guana River Wildlife Management Area) and Pellicer Creek Aquatic Preserve.
Prairie Memories: The Vietnam War Years Episode 2
Prairie Memories, The Vietnam War Years is a collection of oral histories from people who served, were left behind, who protested, or who fled their war torn country for a new life.
00:33 Ronald Windels, is from New York Mills, MN. Ron's story tells of the time he was wounded in action and with the help of his platoon they were helicoptered out.
03:12 James Moon, lives in Rapid City, SD. He was a weapons mechanic for a squadronite of A37s. Jim also remembers getting mortared and rocketed. When they would hear the siren many times they just “rolled under the bunk”.
05:34 Carel Two-Eagle from Standing Rock, ND was going to college at the University of Wisconsin during the Vietnam War. She discribes how radical some of the protesters were during the war and the tragedic consequence their actions had on her husband's lab partner.
07:48 Bill Rose was a Marine during the war. He describes being fatally wounded and the men he served with getting him back to safety. The doctors were persistent to save his life.
10:09 Ann Darby lived in Moorhead, MN. She kept in contact with a sweetheart during the war. Their letters back and forth journal what happened to him on a day to day basis while serving in the Air Force.
12:42 Merrill Piepkorn, from Fargo, ND, couldn't go to Vietnam due to an injury in a vehicle accident he was in when he was 17. One of his friend growning up who did serve contracted an Agent Orange cancer and passed away in 2005 from pancreatic cancer.
14:55 Bill Anderson, lives in Rutland, ND. Bill talks about clearing the Viet-Cong out of areas and capturing enemy supplies. He believed anyone protesting the war had a right to do so but, sending the enemy food and medical supplies went too far.
16:57 Bill Wilber, from New Town, ND was in the navy and worked on a submarine & Treasure Island (San Francisco). The stories he heard during the war didn't reflect how the media portrayed it. He believes the media's intentions were mistrusting during the Vietnam War.
19;30 Larry Wayne Hertwig, lives in Lisbon, ND. Larry served during the Tet Offensive and tells of his duties after. After leaving Vietnam the war still bares a weight on the soldiers who fought it
21:48 Morrie Schwinden, lives in Fargo, ND. He was stationed on the Island of Okinawa and was in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. Morrie was dissapointed in decision made by politicians to get involved in Vietnam War.
24:00 Willy Bitz, from Napoleon, ND served in the army during the Vietnam War. He was on the frontlines clearing landmines from the road. Willy didn’t think he'd ever get back home and credits his survival to doing his duty.

SUMMARY
=======
The first written records for the history of France appeared in the Iron Age. What is now France made up the bulk of the region known to the Romans as Gaul. Roman writers noted the presence of three main ethno-linguistic groups in the area: the Gauls, the Aquitani, and the Belgae. The Gauls, the largest and best attested group, were Celtic people speaking what is known as the Gaulish language.
Over the course of the 1st millennium BC the Greeks, Romans and Carthaginians established colonies on the Mediterranean coast and the offshore islands. The Roman Republic annexed southern Gaul as the province of Gallia Narbonensis in the late 2nd century BC, and Roman forces under Julius Caesar conquered the rest of Gaul in the Gallic Wars of 58–51 BC. Afterwards a Gallo-Roman culture emerged and Gaul was increasingly integrated into the Roman Empire.
In the later stages of the Roman Empire, Gaul was subject to barbarian raids and migration, most importantly by the Germanic Franks. The Frankish king Clovis I united most of Gaul under his rule in the late 5th century, setting the stage for Frankish dominance in the region for hundreds of years. Frankish power reached its fullest extent under Charlemagne. The medieval Kingdom of France emerged from the western part of Charlemagne's Carolingian Empire, known as West Francia, and achieved increasing prominence under the rule of the House of Capet, founded by Hugh Capet in 987.
A succession crisis following the death of the last direct Capetian monarch in 1328 led to the series of conflicts known as the Hundred Years' War between the House of Valois and the House of Plantagenet. The war formally began in 1337 following Philip VI's attempt to seize the Duchy of Aquitaine from its hereditary holder, Edward III of England, the Plantagenet claimant to the French throne. Despite early Plantagenet victories, including the capture and ransom of John II of France, fortunes turned in favor of the Valois later in the war. Among the notable figures of the war was Joan of Arc, a French peasant girl who led French forces against the English, establishing herself as a national heroine. The war ended with a Valois victory in 1453.
Victory in the Hundred Years' War had the effect of strengthening French nationalism and vastly increasing the power and reach of the French monarchy. During the period known as the Ancien Régime, France transformed into a centralized absolute monarchy. During the next centuries, France experienced the Renaissance and the Protestant Reformation. At the height of the French Wars of Religion, France became embroiled in another succession crisis, as the last Valois king, Henry III, fought against rival factions the House of Bourbon and the House of Guise. Henry, King of Navarre, scion of the Bourbon family, would be victorious in the conflict and establish the French Bourbon dynasty. A burgeoning worldwide colonial empire was established in the 16th century. French political power reached a zenith under the rule of Louis XIV, The Sun King, builder of Versailles Palace.
In the late 18th century the monarchy and associated institutions were overthrown in the French Revolution. The country was governed for a period as a Republic, until the French Empire was declared by Napoleon Bonaparte. Following Napoleon's defeat in the Napoleonic Wars, France went through several further regime changes, being ruled as a monarchy, then briefly as a Second Republic, and then as a Second Empire, until a more lasting French Third Republic was established in 1870.
France was one of the Triple Entente powers in World War I, fighting alongside the United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Japan, the United States and smaller allies against Germany and the Central Powers.
France was one of the Allied Powers in World War II, but was conquered by Nazi Germany in 1940. The Third Republic was dismantled, and most of the country was controlled di ...

20. Battles For and Against Americanization
France Since 1871 (HIST 276)
Anti-Americanism in France has historically been directed toward the U.S. government and corporations rather than American citizens. In the wake of World War II, the Marshall Plan for rebuilding Europe was considered by many to be a form of American imperialism. Along with the establishment of American military bases on French soil, the years after World War II bore witness to a great influx of American products, notably refrigerators and Coca-Cola. French concern over American cultural imports persists today, and has extended to include policies aimed at keeping the French language free of English words.

Around the Corner with John McGivern | Program | Wisconsin Rapids (#613)
[Original Airdate: April 6, 2017]
Smack dab in the middle of the state, we found Wisconsin Rapids. True, it’s not hard to find, but it is hard to leave! Wisconsin Rapids is a paper making town, and has been almost 200 years. While this kind, warm town is heavy with history, there are loads of current things to experience, and literally tons of cranberries to be harvested! That’s why we came. Wisconsin is the largest producer of cranberries in the world, and John had never been in a bog – ever! The owners of Glacial Lake Cranberries treated us to an amazing experience that almost left John speechless (almost, but thank goodness, not quite!). But after we experienced all things cranberry, we learned that the unique geology in the center of our state allowed for the building of what is quickly becoming a world renowned destination for golf. And with a name like “Rapids” you know we spent some time along the river. Wisconsin Rapids is gorgeous. We hated to leave, but it was the perfect place to wrap up our sixth season.

Did Cyntoia Brown Tell The Whole Truth?
Cyntoia Brown, who served 15 years of a life sentence for killing a man when she was 16, has been released from a Nashville prison, Tennessee officials announced early Wednesday.
Earlier this year, then-Gov. Bill Haslam took the unusual step of granting Brown clemency for what he called a tragic and complex case, a major victory for Brown and her supporters, who for years have maintained that the 2004 killing was an act of self-defense.
