Jodhpur is a beautiful heritage place with forts and palaces and below are the top 5 things to do here.
1. Visit Mehrangarh fort - wear comfortable shoes and carry water because you have a long steep walk ahead of you
2. Visit Umaid BHawan Palace - It is a gorgeous private residence and would make you feel envious of the people lucky enough to be staying there :P
3. Visit Jaswant Thada - Absolutely loved the outside area of this place with a small lake and serene environment
4. Try the Onion Kachori and Mawa Kachori at Janta sweets
5. Try the Rajasthani Thali in Gypsy - it is one of the best!!!

Gorgeous Sand Castle Resort Of Mihir Garh In Rajasthan | Curly Tales
This superb “Fortress of the Sun” Mihir Garh overlooks the Thar desert, right in the heart of Rajasthan
Imagine an exclusive nine suite boutique hotel where each room offers you more than 1700 sq. of pure luxury – because your imagination comes to life at Mihir Garh.
What Is It?
Mihir Garh is an envoy of Rajasthan’s rich heritage and culture. A palace in the middle of a barren land – created by local artisans with a touch of traditional. The majestic fort with its local lilt has soft, stylish furnishings that have been bought from the Jodhpur region alone. The village women of Khandi and Haji have lovingly created the fireplaces using age old technique of cow dung and clay! From paintings to curtain holders, every little thing has been specially designed for Mihir Garh.
Pure Indulgence
Just 9 rooms and 1700 sq. of pure luxury in each room.
The private terraces, courtyards, plunge pools and Jacuzzi seem to whisper a single word: Indulge. Here, serenity and splendour come together to create an experience for you. While exotic drinks from your personal mini-bar become the manna for a sultry summer afternoon, the fireplace morphs into an intimate friend for wintry nights. You can pamper yourself with the variety of treatments available at Mihir Garh’s Vilasa spa or rejuvenate at the poolside while watching the endless deserts meditate with the horizons. The delectable cuisines too aim to please – from traditional to continental – to suit your palate.
The Suites
In the suites of Mihir Garh, you will be living The Paradox: modern amenities in a city known for its traditions; soft stylish furnishings within a barren land. Indeed, sheer indulgence amidst vast wilderness.
Alishan is the name given to the suites on the ground floor, each of which comes with its own plunge pool and personal courtyard. Meanwhile, the suites on the first floor are called Shandar and have an exclusive open air Jacuzzi along with a private terrace. Alishan and Shandar – the names come from the fine Marwari Stallions from the Rohet Stables.
To ensure absolute comfort, each suite is equipped with all modern amenities like flat screen TVs, DVDs, Tea & Coffee stations and mini bars. Meanwhile, to add to the contemporary chic, they have a touch of tradition in every room: hand crafted fire-places created by women from neighboring villages! The suites at Mihir Garh will morph themselves to fulfill your needs: be it for solitude or intimacy, for opulence or meditation.
Things To Do
The village Safari is a signature program and guests across cultures have referred to it as the “highlight” of their stay. The equestrian program is equally special as the horses belong to the famed ‘Marwari’ breed – an ancient and indigenous breed of India, offering you an unparalleled riding experience.
Al fresco breakfasts, amidst nature, ensure your day begins well. Royal picnics from an era long gone beside a lake so you can luxuriate under the specially designed tent while the, traditionally dressed servers cosset every need of yours. Culinary workshops and demonstrations are held so guests can learn to make the delicacies that they enjoy here. The recipes come from books on traditional Rajasthan cooking authored by the owner’s mother, Late Thakurani Sahiba Jayendra Kumari. Mihir Garh is a tribute to royalty, warm hospitality, humility, a rich culture and an experience that lingers on…
Vilasa Spa
Mihir Garh’s Vilasa spa is the perfect luxury indulgence in the Thar desert. The Vilasa Spa comprises two treatment rooms with interiors that pay tribute to the rural arts and create a sense of well-being set within a walled garden. From rousing reflexology to cleansing scrubs and relaxing massages, the organic and ayurvedic products, you’ll leave feeling relaxed and heavenly.

Is Jaislamer Fort the real life Goblin City- Labyrinth? | Camel Safari | Budget Backpacking India |
Jaisamer, the home town of Bowie in tights???
Though we didn't actually see any goblins, the fort is amazing, with 4000 people living inside, winding streets , you could spend a fortune in there!
WARNING, Mrs. RingSting shares too much in the old train loos...set your faces to stunned!
We didn't actually vlog Jodhpur, the pollution and noise had got to Mrs RingStingers head, so we chilled out under the aircon, and got the train and private taxi to Jaislamer.... the desert town!
We actually hit a very large pig(going about 60mph.... not in vlog, but the pig survived !
Camel safari was a once in a life time experience, sleeping in the open desert under millions of visible stars! Sand dunes and camels as far as the eye can see (with a few camel toes too!)
*Always check your accommodation before paying people, don't be stranded in a tent with no door and a urine infested floor!(head in palms)
Sit back and enjoy our little stinglings!
*if you've ever had ring sting, give us a subscribe!
Catch us on the go on facebook and insta @RingStingers.
We are in Goa currently floating from beach to beach, any questions are welcome x

Bikaner INDIA - Drinking Camel Milk, RAT TEMPLE & Camel Safari
WE VISITED BIKANER IN LATE APRIL 2019
Oh man, we very much enjoyed Bikaner. Although we were there at the start of hot season, there was so much to do and see! We just needed to make sure we were not out during the middle of the day when it gets to 45oC. We arrived off an overnight bus from Udaipur to check into our hotel, we were knackered and it was already very hot so we relaxed and slept in our air con room then headed out in late afternoon. We booked onto the only direct bus to Amritsar, there is one even though the internet says there isn’t! You can book it in person, a couple of days before your trip with Neelam Travels. Just pop into the office and book the bus. It’s a non AC sleeper but perfectly comfortable and leaves Bikaner around 5pm and arrives in Amritsar around 3-4am. At our first hotel, the owner took us to a Camel Wool Scarf Seller Shop. These are bit of a tourist trap, the price of the cheapest scarf was around 500 Rs (£5.50) and as budget travellers, its a bit too much for us, though they did give us free chai. We then wondered around the markets and streets of Bikaner to ate at Amberwalla. I loved the Raj Kachori! The next day we got up at 8am to go to Karni Mata Temple, the Rat Temple. You can catch a public bus to Deshnoke (~45 min drive). The temple was extremely interesting, with rats running around everywhere, living the dream with all the big bowls of milk. Although we brought food to feed them, they were pretty well fed so weren’t too fussed with our food. You don’t have to pay to enter but you do pay a camera charge, I think its was around 40 Rs. Once back in Bikaner, we moved to hotel Shri Ram Hertiage, which is owned by Yogi. Yogi organises camel safaris under the name Rao Bikaji. At a discounted price (as it was off season), we headed off on our camel safari. We arrived at 5 pm (think you arrive early in the cooler seasons) to relax in the Thar desert and sleep in our mud hut. The mud huts were great, with a private bathroom and a little air cooler! Next morning, the camel ride began! 4 hours on a camel. We really enjoyed it, and saw some cool wildlife. White footed foxes, Indian Desert Jirds, eagles, vultures & Indian gazelles. Although sore bottoms were felt all round, we loved and found camels hilarious. For anyone doing a camel safari in April, start as early as possible, it gets very hot, very quickly! Next Stop - Amritsar!
