Salvestrin Winery - St. Helena, California
Salvestrin Winery is a family-owned winery. Since 1932, the Salvestrin family has been in the business of growing grapes and selling them to nearby wineries from their St. Helena estate vineyard. Rich Salvestrin, a third-generation family member, decided it was due time that the family begin making wine from their fabulous vineyards that were winning awards for their client wineries. Rich enrolled in the Fresno State University wine program and, shortly after completion of his studies, began making Salvestrin wine. The first vintage was released in 1994.

Cal Basketball Coach Mike Montgomery gets Joseph Phelps 1998 Insignia at Haas Wine Tasting
Joseph Phelps 1998 Insignia Wine Steals the Show!!!
This viral video is re-captured from video and audio voicemail from a Wine Tasting event featuring University of California Head Basketball Coach, Mike Montgomery, held at Mudds Restaurant in San Ramon, California.
The event was hosted by the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business -East Bay Haas Alumni Network. To the surprise of coach Montgomery, there was a $750 magnum of Joseph Phelps 1998 Insignia Wine, his favorite, waiting for him as a gift after the tasting was concluded.
This was Montgomery's first event as the Cal coach as he had passed on all other offers to attend those previously, including sports and basketball related events. This was a Major COUP for the Haas School of Business and the alumni group!
Although Abdul-Jalil was away, he managed to pull off the appearance with the help of Mike's wife Sarah, son John, assistant Derrick Wrobel and the basketball staff with athletic office academic advisor Mohammed Muqtar. Jalil worked with the staff, management and owners at Joseph Phelps to secure the rare wine while away on his birthday in France.
Although the event was scheduled from noon to 3:00 P. M., Mike was soooo engaging and generous as he shared the rare bottle with the crowd in attendance and the restaurant owner was so excited and humbled by the sucess of the event, he extended the event to include dinner and the attendees closed down the restaurant at 10:30 p.m. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime spontaneous affair!
Needless to say, and I repeat what you will hear in the video It was the Best event Haas has ever had and It will be awfully hard to top this event!. View the video and let me know what you think at jalil@superstarmanagement.com. Thanks to all.

Wine Review: Sinegal Estate Winery, Cabernet Sauvignon
Honored to be featuring my latest Pick of the Week, a 2016 Sinegal Estate Winery @sinegalestate Cabernet Sauvignon by winemaker Ryan Knoth #ryanknoth.
????
Sinegal is a beautiful estate property located in St. Helena, CA operated by proprietors David and Shelley Sinegal @sinegaldavid. David has done an outstanding job at creating what I believe to be a true expression of what a blueprint, state-of-the-art California Cabernet is supposed to represent.

Sinegal Estate Winery
Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
St. Helena, CA
????
The visual on this wine is massive with a dark, jet-black presence and an almost gunmetal, charcoal look that suggests the possibilities of an inky, chewy wine on the palate.
????
The nose on this wine is marvelous showcasing hints of rich spice, blackberries, black currants, and cassis that intertwine nicely with the suggestive currants.
????
The palate on this wine is absolutely amazing boasting hints of pepper, blueberry, and açaí on the forward to mid-palate, dark chocolate and tobacco of the sides, and subtle hints of creamed mocha to finish the back end.
????
Of course, the tannins on this wine show out stupendously with poise, restraint, longevity and just the right complexity all in one, leaving your palate blown away in fascination and intimidation for the next sip. Recommend a good 4-6 hour decant on this 2016 through 2020.

Exclusive Winery and Vineyard | Anderson Valley Estate, Mendocino County, California
The Estate is situated in California’s renowned Anderson Valley where world class vineyards meet coastal redwoods. Leaving the valley floor you ascend the oak and vineyard strewn hillside entering the Estate’s grounds. As you wind along the Estate’s main road you disappear within the mountain’s folds only to remerge again to reveal yet another vineyard plot with one breathtaking view seemingly more alluring than the other. Arriving at the secluded Chateau you are welcomed with an all encompassing vista of the Anderson Valley. With views out to the reaches of where the Navarro River disappears into the redwoods and meets the Pacific beyond, one is well positioned to be witness to the most extraordinary of sunsets.
The Estate is 700 acres consisting of 4 legal parcels of more than 60 acres of vineyards, 30+ more plantable acres and the balance in virgin hardwood and fir forests interspersed with mountain meadows and seasonal streams. Gracing Estate is its French provincial inspired Chateau with its detached guest and office quarters. Tastefully dispersed around the Estate are two additional guest houses with one serving at times as an event site. Interspersed where needed are those outbuildings required to the maintain the Estate, i.e. barns, tool sheds, etc..
Anderson Valley temperate climate is where warms days are tempered by cool foggy nights and mornings producing world class wine varietals in particular Pinot Noir. The Estate consists of 3 distinct vineyard blocks ranging in age from 6 to 30 years old and ranging in altitude from 550 ft. to 1700 ft. with approximately 49 acres to Pinot Noir, 10 acres to Chardonnay, 3/4 acres to Syrah and less than 1/2 acres of Pinot Gris, Friulano and Malvasia. The Estate is bordered by a number of smaller vineyard operations as well as backing up against Kendall Jackson’s prized Outland Ridge Estate Pinot Noir vineyard.
The Estate’s vineyards consistently produce 90 point or better wines yielding over 65 to 105 tons wherein about 40% is used for onsite production with the remainder being sold for an estate premium to some of California’s finest labels. The Winery itself is situated on the high northern end of the Estate. The Winery’s production capacity stands at about 4,500 cases. Retail and wholesale sales are facilitated through the winery’s offsite tasting room in Philo.
The Estate, though, is much more than a vineyard and winery operation. The vines are planted in such a way to act as a man-made enhancement to already naturally stunning setting whose natural corridors act as a wildlife sanctuary teeming with native Colombian Blacktail deer, wild turkeys, quail, wild boar, blue grouse, ducks and the occasional black bear and predator. Countless trails transverse the Estate allowing for equestrian, hiking and ATV access throughout. More than anything, though, this is a transformative lifestyle estate that affords its new owners the ability to immerse themselves in an unparalleled natural environment and wine country living at its finest while having a serious commercial aspect that allows for long term fiscal sustainability.

Napa Vlog|米其林推荐早饭|napa酒庄|Andaz room|拥抱大自然
我们自驾游去北加州咯!
天气终于变好了,不再下雨了!
Napa有超多的米其林餐厅,为啥米其林这么喜欢这儿呢?
景色太美了啊
Grace‘s table是一家Brunch店,在Napa的DT这边,每次都会来,好吃!
Napa
Joseph Phelps: Changing an Industry, Transforming a University
In this tribute video to Joseph Phelps by Colorado State University in honor of his 85th birthday, Phelps' life is chronicled from his early years in Greeley, Colo., graduation from CSU's construction management program in 1951, to his leadership as CEO and chairman of Hensel Phelps Construction Co.
Phelps' contributions include not only as contractor for several buildings on the CSU campus, but also his donations to establish the Phelps Internship Program, and the Joseph Phelps Endowed Chair, both in the Department of Construction Management, as well as a major gift to the CSU Library Campaign. Phelps went on to found Joseph Phelps Vineyards in Napa Valley, Calif., a leader in the production of fine wines. He has left an incredible legacy in two industries, intertwined with his outstanding contributions to Colorado State University.
We express our gratitude to Joseph Phelps, for his inspiration to many generations of CSU students who have benefited from his support and leadership. Happy Birthday and congratulations Joe!
