Seldovia Alaska is certainly one of the most beautiful places to visit in all of Alaska. Located 45 minutes by boat and southwest of Homer, Alaska, Seldovia and this area boasts to be the halibut fishing capital of the world.
Seldovia is a very quaint and totally quiet town. There are 384 acres to the town of Seldovia and there are a mere 262 residents. Yeah everyone knows everyone and they are quite friendly.
Have you ever seen the TV show Northern Exposure? Well it could totally have been written about Seldovia.
An interesting fact from Wikipedia says that Seldovias median age is 48.2. COOL!

Homer is situated in one of the most beautiful places in the world, with spectacular views of Kachemak Bay, the Kenai Mountains, and several volcanic peaks across Cook Inlet including Mt. Augustine, Mt. Iliamna, and Mt. Redoubt.
Homer is also famous for the Homer Spit, a 5 mile natural spit of land extending into Kachemak Bay.

ENG: Unfortunately, the incredibly warm and sunny summer in Alaska has a dark face. This is how salmon died after the entering to Tutka Lagoon in Kachemak Bay State Park near Homer. Those are prespawn salmon - they are not spawned out. They all died before they released to eggs, so no offspring ????

Road Ready Campground Reviews, Moon Lake State Recreation Area, outside Tok Alaska. We had to wait around Tok Alaska over Memorial Day weekend. We picked this great state park about 18 miles up the Alaskan Highway to stop and stay.

The Pratt Museum maintains a live webcam on the island during summer. A visit to the museum in Homer allows visitors to control the camera to see birds on the island, in the water, and even in their burrows.
