Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden - KASVITIETEELLINEN PUUTARHA | Things to do in Helsinki
THINGS TO DO IN HELSINKI: Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden - KASVITIETEELLINEN PUUTARHA is Helsinki MUST SEE.
I was in Helsinki and had some spare time and I remembered that one of the top things to do in Helsinki is to check out the Helsinki botanic garden, or Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden that goes by the Finnish name of 'kasvitieteellinen puutarha' by LUOMUS Finnish Museum of Natural History.
Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden showcases must-see Helsinki nature, various botanical attractions, flowers, and plants.
The outdoor botanic garden of Helsinki has free entrance all year round. The outdoor garden is open daily from 9 am to 8 pm.
University of Helsinki Botanical Garden also has glasshouse botanic museum 'LUOMUS Kaisaniemen kasvitieteellinen puutarha', which has a fee of 10 EUR for entrance to the glasshouse museum part of the botanic #garden. Unfortunately, it was not open while I was there so I missed it this time.
However, the Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden is a wonderful place in Helsinki and one of the nicest Helsinki attractions or Helsinki must-see on #Finland trip. Especially if you do Finland travel in the summertime then I highly recommend spending some time seeing Helsinki botanic garden and enjoy nature in Helsinki. It was one of the places in Helsinki that I highly enjoyed, to have such beautiful #nature right in the middle of the big busy city.
If I were in #Helsinki Finland and had some time to spend and there is beautiful weather, then Kaisaniemi botanic garden would be high on my things to do in Helsinki list.
The opening hours for Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden glasshouse museum can be seen on their website:

Tähän aikaan keväästä tuolla ei vielä kovin vihreää ollut, rakennuksia lähinnä oli tarkoitus tarkastella.
In 1763, Governor Hans Henrik Böje rented a plot of land from the city of Helsinki bordered by Hämeen maantie (nowadays Siltasaarenkatu) and started a garden on it. In 1773, control of the garden was handed over to gardener Erik Edbom. When Helsinki became the capital in 1812, the garden became a municipal garden. Later on, in 1827, work on transforming the garden into a walking area for the denizens of Helsinki commenced according to plans drawn up by Carl Ludvig Engel. His plans divided the park into two distinct areas: a symmetrical, tree-lined park and a landscaped garden formed by winding paths. In 1829, the walking area was pared back once the Imperial Academy of Turku Botanical Garden moved next to it after the Great Fire hit Turku and the Imperial Academy relocated to Helsinki.
