The place where the Mahakal Temple stands was once occupied by the Buddhist monastery. It is still a place of great sanctity for the Bhutias. Bells ring in the midst of fluttering flags, which are used to pray in the shrine. Monkeys are seen in plenty at the Observatory Hill.

The Mahakal Mandir sits atop quite the hike upwards. I'm very impressed my mother came along the whole way. One of the most meaningful temple experiences personally that I've been able to have in India, grateful my mother wanted to share it with me let alone endure the walk up.

But you have to find where the secret park is. I will not tell you. There are lots of temple like Brahma, Bishnu, maa kali, Radha Krishna, Hanuman, Ganesh and a cave temple. One has to climb 500 m of distance from mall road, Darjeeling to reach mahakal dham temple. The surrounding of the temple is very serene, beautiful and calm. Colourful tebetan flags and festoons make this temple very colourful. There are a number of 'Dharm Chakra' in the temple. It is believed that if someone turns all the 'Dharm chakras' His or her all wish get fulfilled. Morning and evening is the best time to visit mahakal dham temple. This temple is very clean and hygienic. So one can visit there with their families and friends. If you are visiting Mall Road of Darjeeling, you should not miss mahakal dham temple. This is the best place to spend 30 to 40 mins in peace and calmness.

Darjeeling unrest hits age-old Sevokeshwari Kali Mandir’s income - ANI News
Sevoke (West Bengal), July 25 (ANI): The indefinite strike called by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, (GJM) demanding separate statehood of Gorkhaland in West Bengal is hitting the income of several temples, including age-old Sevokeshwari Kali Mandir in Darjeeling. Large numbers of devotees from different parts of the country visit the temple but since the shutdown the numbers have dropped significantly. According to the Mandir committee’s secretary, Swapan Kumarthe, funds to run the mandir have dropped and most of the people are scared to visit due to the unrest. The Mandir committee has urged the government to resolve the issue and maintain the integrity of the nation.

200 Years Old Hangseshwari Kali Temple at Banshberia, Hooghly - West Bengal Tourism Video
Hangseswari temple is a Hindu Temple of goddess Hangseswari(The goddess who came in a dream of Raja Nrisingha Deb Roy Mahasay) at Banshberia,Hooghly, West Bengal, India. Banshberia is an industrial town positioned in between Bandel and Tribeni. The temple complex has another temple — Ananta Basudeba temple — besides the main temple. The Hanseswari temple has a distinctive architecture different from the usual pattern present in this area, consisting 13 minars or Ratnas, each built as a blooming lotus bud. The inner structure of the building resembles human anatomy. It was started by Raja Nrisingha Deb Roy Mahasay and later completed by his widow wife Rani Sankari.
This temple also has idols of Radha-Krishna and Lord Shiva.

Dhirdham Temple-Darjeeling(West Bengal)
Resembling the well known Pashupatinath Temple of Kathmandu, the Dhirdham temple of Darjeeling is a revered temple in the city. The temple is a shrine of Lord Shiva built in traditional Tibetan style. The beautiful idol of the deity depicts the Pancha Bakram Trinetram, the five different facial expressions and the Third Eye of Lord Shiva.
Built by the King of Nepal, Purna Bahadur Pradhan in year 1939, the temple is designed by the Gorkhali architect Beg Raj Sakya. The entire premises of the temple is constructed in a way that it offer its visitors a sense of relaxation and peace.

The Coronation Bridge, also known as the Sevoke Bridge, in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India, spans across the Teesta River, connecting the districts of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri. National Highway 31 runs across it.
It was named to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937 and was completed in 1941 at a cost of Rs 4 lakhs.[1] The foundation stone of the bridge was laid by John Anderson, the-then Governor of Bengal in 1937.Md Suleman Laheri.

Observatory Hill is a hill near Chowrasta square, or The Mall as it is popularly known, in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. Views of snow-clad peaks, including Mount Kanchenjunga, are visible from the Observatory Hill. The Bhutia Busty monastery was originally located here. Now the hill has the temple of Mahakal. Two important arteries of the town, Nehru Road and Bhanubhakta Sarani, meet at Chowrasta. Another school of thought suggests that the presence of the megalithic core to have been a place of worship of the Rongs, representing a sacred location of the classic Long Chok (erect stones) type. The term 'Dotsug' was thus a literal translation of 'Long Chok'

About Rohini,Darjeeling :-
Rohini, as it is very popular nowadays used to be a very isolated place with a very least development, even though it was not so far from a city of Siliguri and Kurseong, the transportation system was in a poor shape and the people living there had to depend much on horses and mules, or walked all the way to Kurseong for ration,medical treatment and other important household articles, even the students hiked every day to get to their schools.
Rohini at first was only known for the tea garden which was planted in the lower parts , it started gaining popularity as a famous picnic spot after an initiative was taken by Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council to develop the place. DGHC commenced with the work of connecting the place with Siliguri and Kurseong by improving the roadways, which at present serves as the main route connecting the hills with Siliguri. The importance of this road was felt when the major landslide swept National Highway 55 at two places which have not been restored till date.
The DGHC further constructed rest houses, parks and a lake with boating facility, the temple was constructed and several viewpoints were built at different spots in order to promote the tourism.
The Rohini road today serves as the most convenient route to Darjeeling and Kurseong, the road is clean, wide and well maintained. Most of the people would love to ride this road due to its quality and very scenic views. There are several shops along the road for the tourists who wishes to break up for some snacks. The views throughout the road are astonishing and some tourists may just stop for a while to capture the moment in their cameras. The road in its serpentine form with various curves and bends makes it more fascinating, but little treacherous to drive in. If fortunate one may even witness some wild elephants along the lower elevation of the road.
This road has not only served to be the most convenient way to reach the hills but it has certainly opened the door for employ-ability options to the local people as well.
