In KALMAR, you can tread in historic footsteps. The city has with its architecture and city plan, its dykes, cobbled streets and stone houses from the 1600s, in a unique way preserved the memory of American stormaktstid.

The first Time Travel in Tanzania
The first Time Travel in Tanzania has just ended. It was held in the small village of Mihuta and focused on how to stop gender based violence. In this movie you can hear ELCT Women and Children coordinator Faustina Nillan share her experiences. The Time Travel method is a method for using the heritage to address contemporary issues and build a better future. The project is a collaboration between Kalmar County Museum and Church of Sweden together with their two partner organisations Evangelican Lutheran Church of Tanzania and Christian Council of Tanzania. The project is funded by the Swedish Institute.

On Wednesday, the Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Rejoice Mabudafhasi and the Swedish Embassy launched the 4th Bridging Ages South Africa National Conference. The three day event under the theme Freedom and Solidarity was developed by the Swedish Kalmar County Museum. It forces people to confront contemporary challenges of today brought on by the apartheid past by engaging audiences in research and story telling to reshape their future.
