Palm Village Resort at Kandal Province in Cambodia
Palm Village Resort is a beautiful resort in the middle of the paddy fields and palm trees. They open this resort a couple years ago as i went there last 2 years, it was so beautiful but not so many cottage built as they only have about 20 wooden cottage for their customers. Right now they have lots of cottages to serve their customers with foods. They also have a small food market for tourists or customers to buy. They also charge for their cottage. I went there on Sunday 8th November 2015 the cottage price is US$4.5. They charge the cottage so we can bring our own foods in or buy from the food market. It's about 15 kilometers south of Phnom Penh city on National 2 and turn left at Siem Reap district when we see a sign board of Palm Village.

Cambodian Cultural Village in Siem Reap Province | Finding Son in law at Kroeung Village
It's a family trip in Siem Reap province. We took a TukTuk around town to the cafe, my kids and wife like Amazon. We got a drink each and then take the TukTuk to the Cambodian Cultural village to refresh our memory from years ago. There's nothing change for nearly 2 years. The ticket was 20000riel (US$5) for adult and 10000riel (US$2.50) for kids. We walked around the park taken pictures with statues and temples. We rushed to Kroeung Village to see a show there title finding son in law. It's a funny show of a Kroeung family with a beautiful daughter, there're 3 guys from 3 nationalities came to ask for love but she rejected. They invited a tourist/guest to joined the show to be son-in-law talent. It was so much funny.

Village Walk - Kandal Provance Cambodia ????????
Well, it didn't take long for us to find us to find something dodgy - right around the corner from the house was a dude grilling dog meat. No thanks!
On this village walk in Kandal Provance, Cambodia, you get a first hand look at how traditional Khmer homes blend in with their modern counterparts, a look a local volley ball court where kids come to play after school as well as how nice and quiet it is being away from a main road!

After studying at the fashion design school Atelier Chardon-Savard (Paris, France), she acquired professional experience in fashion and home objects in several Parisian firms until she decided to invest in Cambodia, and return to pass on her expertise and share her trade.
Sirivan shop in Kandal Village presents a new collection (made on-site) of women & men’s clothes, fashion accessories, and homeware designed in a personal & intimate environment.

Village Festival at Kandal Province in Cambodia | Khmer Traditional Celebration 2017
It's a very popular Khmer Traditional celebration in Cambodia called BonnPhum Village Festival. This year schedule fall on 7th, 8th, 9th April 2017 at Tuol Krasang Pagoda in Kandal province. Bonn Phum literally means Village Festival. It's a folklife festival of Cambodian culture taking place at the pagoda in the village. This is the 3rd Village Festival that brought all Cambodian people to the Khmer popular games like Tug of War, Showering, Khmer traditional dancing, and many other fun games and shows. You can see that many people came to the festival and celebrated. It was hot but so much fun. I really like the song from Khmeng Khmer for Bonn Phum Village Festival and it becomes very popular song for teenagers in Cambodia.

Cooking & Eating Cambodian Foods at Chhviang Village | Khmer Traditional Cooking in Kandal Province
We visited Chhviang Village before Pchum Ben Holiday to cook foods and eat together. Most of our cookers are friends living at Chhiang village and also a food vendors at Phnom Reap and Phnom Oudong resort. They're cooking stir fried chicken with lots of chilly, chicken soup with banana flower. They bought grilled stuffed frogs, grilled chickens, grilled snake-head & cat fishes from Phnom Reap resort for lunch together. This place is located at Chhviang village, Chhviang commune, Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province in Cambodia. It was a great lunch, everyone really enjoyed the foods.

Silversmith Village at Ponhea Leu district in Kandal province - Cambodian Craft Cooperation
When traveling on National Highway 5 from Phnom Penh to Kampong Chhnang or Battambang, you will see a copper banner on your right with a blur word says Cambodian Craft Cooperation Silversmith Village Oudong-Kampong Luong. You need to stop to read the word :-) It's Silversmith Village at Ponhea Leu district in Kandal province. We spent 45min. visited 2 silversmith handicraft homes. The manager of Bopha Kampong Luong Silversmith handicraft said that his business is down because there's no market. He used to supply these souvenir stuffs to other countries in the world, now the sale is not going well. His middlemen nearly stop orders. He can only make some for local customers. Local authority, related ministries, or government never help them promote these to tourists or the world. I hope that this video will help spread the Cambodian silversmith handicraft to all tourists and the world. The Silversmith Village is located along National road 5 at Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province. It's about 34km. from Phnom Penh. (approximately 1.20min drive).

Why Angkor Wat (Siem Reap) is a must see | CAMBODIA
Another one of our life bucket list stops the Angkor Wat temples in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Needless to say we had an absolutely incredible time visiting the Khmer Hindu and Buddhist temple ruins.
Things started off in Phnom Penh where we caught the Cambodia Post VIP Van for $11 USD each to get to Siem Reap. This is the site we booked our Cambodia Post VIP Van tickets from:
They have a variety of routes and departure times. We found Cambodia Post VIP Van to be a pretty cheap and convenient way getting from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, then using a tuk tuk for the remainder of our journey to get to our accommodation.
The ride from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap via Cambodia Post VIP Van took about 3 hours in total including a quick lunch stop and there were tuk tuks waiting around for us to get to our final destination (our Airbnb accommodation in Siem Reap) that ended up being just a few minutes drive away.
Our accommodation in Siem Reap was an urban studio located in the peaceful Kandal Village. The place was clean, stylish and comfortable. It's situated above Khmer 652 - a Cambodian restaurant that serves very delicious Khmer cuisine with super lovely staff. There are a handful of other cafes and restaurants nearby as well as local craft shops too.
Khmer 652 is owned by the Airbnb hosts so you also get a 10% discount for dining there. Our favourite meals during our time in Siem Reap were at Khmer 652 as well as Crane just at the back of their alley. We loved the location of our accommodation in Siem Reap because it's also in close walking distance to a supermarket, the river bank and the very lively Pub Street.
After a quick haircut and a browse around Kandal Village we got some rest before heading over to the Angkor Wat temple complex the next day. We opted to get a personal tour guide which turned out to be one of the best decisions ever.
Sarak was our tuk tuk driver and Angkor Wat travel guide, recommended to us from a fellow YouTuber friend. Sarak took us all around the amazing temples in the Angkor Wat temple complex, visiting the lesser-known and secret quiet areas (as well as the main temples too). He even took it upon himself to help us take some beautiful photos with our phone during our entire time together too. He was a driver, travel guide and photographer all in one!

If you're wondering how to get to Angkor Wat, we definitely recommend going via tuk tuk with Sarak to enjoy the open air ride and if you want to go to the quieter spots like we did, simply let him know.
We bought a 3-day multi-pass to visit the Angkor Wat temple complex. First day we had Sarak and on our subsequent visits we had Mr Bean (Sarak's business partner) take us when we filmed Peter's Part 2 for his how to retire early series and on the final visit we went via Grab tuk tuk ourselves just to Angkor Wat. We were in Siem Reap visiting Angkor Wat during November. Btw, make sure to keep your Angkor Wat tickets with you as this gets checked at various entry points into the temple complex.
We visited the following temples:
- West Gate
- Angkor Thom
- Preah Khan
- Ta Prohm (also known as the Tomb Raider temple)
- Bayon (and then finally...)
- Angkor Wat
We also enjoyed a breath taking sunset away from the crowds at Srah Sang.
