PARAGLIDING ROCKS IN VALLEY AT FIRST TIME
Kashmir has huge untapped potential for paragliding as an adventure sport and tourist attraction because the stunning beauty and wind patterns here provide a rare mixture for the event.
Sound Byte of Murad Bhat, proprietor of Karakoram Explorers, the company that has been organizing a paragliding event for the state tourism department near Srinagar since the last two days .This paragliding site is close to Srinagar city. The site has been identified after five years of research on wind patterns.
The paraglider pilot takes tourists and adventure lovers on a tandem flight that lasts for 15 to 20 minutes. In Switzerland and Germany, the thermals produced are not as rich as we have found them in Kashmir. The flight from our paragliding site has stunning view with the Dal Lake and the Mahadev Mountain in the background.
Even if there is no wind, it takes 10 minutes for a flight to reach the landing site. The paragliders we use are DHB1 specified which are safe. When the winds are favourable because the site is situated on the West slope the glider is taken to a height even above the take off site.
So far, 42 tandem paragliding flights have taken off from the site and the organizers say it is time an international paragliding event is held in Kashmir. It is just 15 minutes by road and one is off to flight. This type of convenient paragliding facility is only available in Turkey so far,
Sound Byte of paraglider from himachal Pradesh i am doing para gliding over the 15 years. i have done paragliding in Nepal turkey but i think Kashmir is best place for para gliding because of the beauty and favourable wind

Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of the Indian subcontinent. Until the mid-19th century, the term Kashmir denoted only the Kashmir Valley between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal Range. Today, it denotes a larger area that includes the Indian-administered territory of Jammu and Kashmir (which includes the divisions Jammu, Kashmir Valley, and Ladakh), the Pakistani-administered territories of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, and Chinese-administered territories of Aksai Chin and the Trans-Karakoram Tract.
In the first half of the 1st millennium, the Kashmir region became an important centre of Hinduism and later of Buddhism; later still, in the ninth century, Kashmir Shaivism arose.[4] In 1339, Shah Mir became the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir, inaugurating the Salatin-i-Kashmir or Shah Mir dynasty.[5] Kashmir was part of the Mughal Empire from 1586 to 1751,[6] and thereafter, until 1820, of the Afghan Durrani Empire.[5] That year, the Sikhs, under Ranjit Singh, annexed Kashmir. In 1846, after the Sikh defeat in the First Anglo-Sikh War, and upon the purchase of the region from the British under the Treaty of Amritsar, the Raja of Jammu, Gulab Singh, became the new ruler of Kashmir. The rule of his descendants, under the paramountcy (or tutelage) of the British Crown, lasted until the partition of India in 1947, when the former princely state of the British Indian Empire became a disputed territory, now administered by three countries: India, Pakistan, and China.
The word Kashmir was derived from the ancient Sanskrit language and was referred to as káśmīra.The Nilamata Purana describes the Valley's origin from the waters, a lake called Sati-saras. A popular, but uncertain, local etymology of Kashmira is that it is land desiccated from water.
kashmir is also known as srinagar, this trailer is all about my kashmir experience video 2019 .kashmir trailer is one of my favourite video.

Bike Drive next to Kishanganga River in Gurez Valley Kashmir - www.offbeatexplorers.com
Read more here -
You start driving next to Kishanganga River as you approach Dawar and most of the time in Dawar and Tulail, you would be driving next to Kishanganga River only. It is an altogether different experience crossing those Army Iron bridges, sitting by the side of river and listening to its thundering flow.
Part of ancient Dardistan (Land of Dard people), Gurez is a beautiful valley located in high Himalayas of Kashmir. Once an important town on Slik Route, Gurez Valley is now tucked far away into a corner, visited only by those who want to drive to this land in their quest of exploring the unexplored Kashmir. With its remote location (bad roads making it even more difficult to reach here) and a population of only around 38,000, Gurez is a perfect destination in case you are looking for a hidden gem in Kashmir – Something off the beaten trek, indeed !!
Stunning Photography of Ladakh by Awesome Zindagi
Ladakh (land of high passes) is a region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Kunlun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet. Ladakh is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and culture.
Historically, the region included the Baltistan (Baltiyul) valleys (now mostly in Pakistan), the entire upper Indus Valley, the remote Zanskar, Lahaul and Spiti to the south, much of Ngari including the Rudok region and Guge in the east, Aksai Chin in the northeast (extending to the Kun Lun Mountains), and the Nubra Valley to the north over Khardong La in the Ladakh Range. Contemporary Ladakh borders Tibet to the east, the Lahaul and Spiti regions to the south, the Vale of Kashmir, Jammu and Baltiyul regions to the west, and the southwest corner of Xinjiang across the Karakoram Pass in the far north.
Aksai Chin is one of the disputed border areas between China and India. It is administered by China as part of Hotan County but is also claimed by India as a part of the Ladakh region of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In 1962, China and India fought a brief war over Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh, but in 1993 and 1996 the two countries signed agreements to respect the Line of Actual Control.
In the past Ladakh gained importance from its strategic location at the crossroads of important trade routes, but since the Chinese authorities closed the borders with Tibet and Central Asia in the 1960s, international trade has dwindled except for tourism. Since 1974, the Government of India has successfully encouraged tourism in Ladakh. Since Ladakh is a part of strategically important Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian military maintains a strong presence in the region.
The largest town in Ladakh is Leh, followed by Kargil.Almost half of Ladakhis are Shia Muslims and the rest are mostly Tibetan Buddhists. Some Ladakhi activists have in recent times called for Ladakh to be constituted as a union territory because of perceived unfair treatment by Kashmir and Ladakh's cultural differences with predominantly Muslim Kashmir.
Pakistan | Hunza Valley| A beautiful country|Beauty of Pakistan 2018 Explore By Exploring Pakistan
Hunza (Burushaski: ہنزو , Wakhi, and Urdu: ہنزہ) is a mountainous valley in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Hunza is situated in the extreme northern part of Pakistan, bordering with the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan and the Xinjiang region of China.
History
Main article: State of Hunza
Baltit Fort, the former residence of the Mirs of Hunza
Hunza was formerly a princely state bordering Xinjiang (autonomous region of China) to the northeast and Pamir to the northwest, which survived until 1974, when it was finally dissolved by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The state bordered the Gilgit Agency to the south and the former princely state of Nagar to the east. The state capital was the town of Baltit (also known as Karimabad); another old settlement is Ganish Village which means ancient god Ganesh village. Hunza was an independent principality for more than 900 years, until the British gained control of it and the neighbouring valley of Nagar between 1889 and 1891 through a military conquest. The then Mir/Tham (ruler) Safdar Khan of Hunza fled to Kashghar in China and sought what would now be called political asylum.[3]
Mir/Tham
Main article: Mir of Hunza
An account wrote by John Bidulf in his book 'Tribes of Hindukush'
“ The ruling family of Hunza is called Ayeshe (heavenly). The two states of Hunza and Nagar were formerly one, ruled by a branch of the Shahreis, the ruling family of Gilgit, whose seat of government was Nager. First muslim came to Hunza-Nagar Valley some 1000 years (At the time of Imam Islām Shāh 30th Imam Ismaili Muslims). After the introduction of Islam to Gilgit, married a daughter of Trakhan of Gilgit, who bore him twin sons, named Moghlot and Girkis. From the former the present ruling family of Nager is descended. The twins are said to have shown hostility to one another from birth. Thereupon their father, unable to settle the question of succession, divided his state between them, giving Girkis the north/west, and to Moghlot the south/east bank of the river.[4] ”
2010 landslide
In 2010, a landslide blocked the river and created Attabad Lake (also called Gojal Lake) [5], which threatened 15,000 people in the valley below and has effectively blocked 27 km of the Karakoram Highway.[6] The new lake extends 30 kilometres (19 mi) and rose to a depth of 400 feet (120 m) when it was formed as the Hunza River backed up.[7] The landslide completely covered sections of the Karakoram Highway.

On 1 July 2018, Pakistan Army pilots in a daring mission rescued 3 foreign mountainers stuck in snow avalanche at above the height of 19,000 feet (5,800 m) on Ultar Sar Peak near Hunza. The parlous weather conditions had made it difficult for the Army helicopter to go forth with a rescue operation on the 7,388 metres (24,239 ft) high Ultar Sar. But they completed it. Bruce Normand and Timothy Miller from UK successfully rescued alive while their companion Christian Huber from Austria had succumbed to avalanche.[8][9]
Britain's High Commissioner Thomas Drew in Pakistan said, the mission had been “remarkable and dangerous”. “ Our gratitude to the Pakistan Army pilots who rescued two British climbers trapped by an avalanche on Ultar Sar Peak near Hunza. Our thoughts with their Austrian fellow climber who died ”.[10][11]

The local languages spoken include Burushaski, Wakhi and Shina. The literacy rate of the Hunza valley is believed to be more than 90%.[12] The historical area of Hunza and present northern Pakistan has had, over the centuries, mass migrations, conflicts and resettling of tribes and ethnicities, of which the Dardic Shina race is the most prominent in regional history. People of the region have recounted their historical traditions down the generations.

Ladakh The Land Beyond
A 15 day tour of Northern India I did and filmed in September of 2006, structured around a Himalayan ascent trek. Also a philanthropic mission to secure the construction by donation of a village school (project now completed) in the remote Shara Valley region of Ladakh where a special music and dance festival in our honour was given by the local beneficiaries; in fact the entire population of the valley showed up and amongst all the celebrations, we participated in an archery competition, a Ladakhi speciality. Based at 3,600m in Ladakh's capital, Leh, we got to know many locals at the Kang-la Chen Hotel, visited Shey Palace and Thicksay Gompa as well as various monasteries around the Lamayaru and Wanla districts. We visited several orphanages to look at the kind of schooling the kids were getting and were astounded at the quality of their book-work and English skills under a highly dedicated teacher. We also rafted the Indus river down to meet the confluence with the Zanzibar. The ascent through the Kongski-la Pass, with 16 Nepalese sherpas and 10 Tibetan pack-horses, in sight of Mt Stok Kangri in the Northern Himalaya took us to a dizzying 5,100 metres where two of our party suddenly decided to get married in a Buddhist wedding ceremony conducted by our Ladakhi tour leader who also happened to be a Buddhist priest! We then visited the world-famous Buddhist festival at the enormous Hemis Gompa on the return journey, and attended the Dalai Lama's birthday party back in Leh, his official hometown (he wasn't there for it.) The trip concluded with the obligatory visit to Agra to visit the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal.
No subtitles, no talking heads (maybe just a few) and much of the music track composed by me. A full list of music credits is given at the end. Duration: 1 hr 19 minutes.
